An incredible trail system with plenty of attractions to visit. Port Alberni is at the heart of Vancouver Island with access to the open west coast. Getting AroundAirport shuttles and buses arrive in Port Alberni every day. You can also fly by float plane from Vancouver or Nanaimo. Other Things to NoteWe are perfectly situated as a place to stay going to or coming from Tofino or Ucluelet. Only one hour drive. So you can stay here and drive there and back easily in a day. The SpaceThe cottage has 2 master suites with queen pillow top mattresses, fine down comforters with a choice of memory foam or down pillows. In the living room you will find a deluxe fold out air bed that accommodates two. Our living room has a stone fireplace for cooler days with flat screen TV, Bose sound system, blue-ray DVD player with movies, books and games to play. The rustic solid acacia dining room table seats 8 on recycled teak or leather chairs. A fire-fly light hangs from the ceiling. On the patio you will find the barbeque, table seating for six and a lounger as well as wicker sofa to breathe in the sea air. New!! The tennis court is open. Guest AccessIt is only a few steps to the pool and clubhouse which has exercise equipment and a pool table. A few houses away is the gorgeous beach. The beach area has a fire-pit, sandy space and steps to the ocean. You will find everything you need to make your stay a memorable one, gourmet kitchen with induction range with other stainless appliances and stunning granite. The bathrooms have unusual granite counters, heated floors and towel racks, decorated in an classic yet modern style. The garage has 2 bicycles and helmets for your use and pleasure. The NeighborhoodThe village of Qualicum Beach is a charming yet well equipped small town. Small gourmet restaurants, Qualicum Foods for groceries and quaint shops will delight you. A scallop farm is within walking distance of your cottage which can provide the finest varieties of this little ocean gem fresh from the ocean. Many pubs dot the Oceanside route. The market at Coombs with the famous "goats on the roof" goodies including fine cheeses, and awesome bakery will meet all your needs. For those who are adventurous, the Horne Lake Caves are very close with rappeling or tiny tunnels to squeeze through or there are cave tours that are more open and large. Close by are winery tours, mini-golf, horse-back riding, boat rentals, parks and activities to discover your own favourites. There is skiing at Mt. Washington only an hour away. Qualicum offers something for everyone. Getting AroundYou will require a vehicle to access the cottage. You will have your own private garage. Other Things to NoteThe pool and hot tubs are open from June 15th to September 15th. The new tennis court is open!! Tennis rackets and balls are in the pantry.

The SpaceNestled a walk away from the main house are newly built guest accommodations. Your private cottage is furnished with the latest and most modern up to date furnishings. From the hardwood floor to the luxurious down duvets. Your brand new Queen sized bed is top of the line "Pillow top Sealy posturepedic". A 4-piece ensuite bathroom contains all natural aromatherapy soaps and lotions picked out special from your hostess. You will find two cozy terry towel fluffy robes and slippers waiting for you after a relaxing bath. Fluff up the pillows and sleep in the finest of linens and enjoy the quiet that surrounds this farm 24 hours a day! . Both cottages are outfitted with full kitchenettes so you are able to whip out your own meals at your leisure. We can also offer a breakfast for the B&B service for an additional cost and is brought to your suite so you can enjoy it on your private deck or in your suite. We have just added a B.B.Q. for you so you can enjoy the outside cooking experience. Each cottage has a private deck so you can enjoy your breakfast lunch and dinner overlooking the pond and horses. Kick back in the hammock and read a book or curl up in bed and take the time out of your busy schedule to enjoy a good movie on a flat screen t.v. with many channels to choose from. We strive to make your holiday here and memorable one. We are centrally located for day trips to the West Coast of Vancouver Island and minutes away from the beaches of both Parksville and Qualicum and Cameron Lake. Guest AccessThere is off street parking for our guests. We have miles of trails across the road as well as a beautiful yard which includes a fire pit for roasting marshmallows or lounging a hammock to relax after a long day of exploring the island. Interaction with GuestsYou will have access to us for any problems or questions you have but will have the privacy of your own cottage on the property. The NeighborhoodWe own a serene 2.5 acre hobby farm which houses an array of our pets including a dog, a horse and a adorable miniature horse and barn cats. We are lucky enough to see many different varieties of birds that flock to our feeders as well as hummingbirds. From your private deck you will be entertained by the doe (deer) and her adorable fawns we had on the property this year and in our pond we have baby Koi and goldfish that come to be fed every night. Occasionally you may even see a black bear or cougar! Getting AroundYou will need a vehicle to explore the island and the many options it offers. Such as the beautiful white sandy beaches or the crystal clear lakes. We have just five minutes away the majestic forest of Cathedral Grove or for the more adventurous the caves of Horne Lake. Don't forget to put the fabulous West Coast of Vancouver island on your day trip as well as a boat tour to see the awesome Orcas and depending on the time of year, many different species of whales that pass thru on their way during migration. It is a spectacular sight and never forgotten! We live here and are still in awe of these mighty animals. Take slowed paced or energetic, challenging walks throughout the parks. Many people chose to see the coastline in kayaks as the surrounding waters tend to be calm. Qualicum Beach is located on the central eastern shores of Vancouver Island. We are a 35 minute drive north of Nanaimo’s Departure Bay Ferry Terminal and 149kms (2 hours) drive north of Victoria. Many surrounding islands can be visited by use of the BC Ferry system. Each island boosts their own unique personality.many golf courses, walking and hiking trails, unique shopping, family activites. Several ocean stops to spent the day. Tofina, Mount Washington and Victoria are driveable from our location. The Qualicum area offers family and fine dining. The village is a 40 minute walk,either through a forested canyon or along the sea wall, from our home. A wide range of events abound in Qualicum Beach. For car enthusiasts there are several shows including the Father's Day Show and Shine. Other events include Fire and Ice, a chili and ice sculpting street event, the Canadian Open Sandsculpting competition in Parksville, Brandt Festival, Coombs Bluegrass Festival, or the Saturday Farmers market. Weekly, farmer's markets pop up in several spots around Qualicum Beach offering home made or baked items and farm fresh produce. Artists of every kind sell their work at the markets or from their own studios. The people of Qualicum are very welcoming and they enjoy a relaxing and slower paced lifestyle. If you are intersted in cultural arts you would enjoy area bands, choirs, live theater, art galleries and workshops, quilting, photography or gardens.

    The SpaceA sweet little cabin all to yourself is a great alternative to a crowded hostel. Come visit a part of the Coast you will never forget.....I Promise. The Cedar is a simple one room cabin perfect for a night or two. A queen size bed will envelop you for a long sleep in after a day of touring our unique little island. This part of the world is off the grid, so forget about noise and light pollution. A secluded outhouse set in the forest offers ultimate privacy and great views. Our accommodations are self catering so it is essential for you to bring along the necessities to make your stay as comfortable as you want it. There are no cooking facilities with this cabin. Drinking water, food and maybe some sweet treats from our local cafe or cookie stand can put you in heaven. Lasqueti Island is a jewel of a secret. Those who have visited always leave a piece of their heart here. We are off the beaten track and a culture all on our own. Our community is completely off the grid and every house is self sufficient. Our homes and landscapes are pieces of art, as everyone here is an artist in one form or another. Our Saturday market is filled with locally grown produce, fresh baked goods and hand made wares you will find no other place. If it is just some chill out time you are looking for then our forest and beaches are the perfect place to do it. Many will tell you, we've got the best sunsets on the coast. So easy to get to. We are a 5 minute walk from the ferry landing which you board in French Creek Parksville, just 30 minutes north of Nanaimo. Look up Lasqueti Island online and you will see why we are booked all summer long. Other Things to NoteThe ferry to Lasqueti is a walk on only, there is no car transport. During the summer months it can be very busy so it is important to arrive at the dock a minimum of 30 minutes prior to departure. Earlier for long weekends. On the busy days the ferry crew will put out boarding passes located on the metal post beside the ferry. With these in hand you must be on the ferry 15 min prior to departure to ensure passage. These passes are not always necessary but will be on the long weekends. Dogs - Although I have hosted some wonderful pups in my cabins, the island in general is leery of dogs due to the large population of feral sheep wandering freely on the island. Dogs must be on leash at all times and never allowed to run freely for there own protection. Medical Emergencies - Our island is serviced by a qualified team of first responders. If there was a medical emergency they would attend you and have you transported via Coast Guard or medi-vac to the nearest hospital. Power - This homes electricity is generated by solar, hydro or gas generator if necessary. It will be the guests responsibility to provide their own gas if they will be running the generator. Fuel is available on the island. Water - The water that services this home is untreated and it is therefore not potable. There is a Daulton water filter for drinking water and large jugs of water can be purchased on island. Heat - The house is heated by a wood stove. A sufficient amount will be provided for your stay. Wifi - There is no wifi in the house. There is cellular coverage for tethering if internet access is needed. There is also wifi available at the pub.

We are centrally located on Vancouver Island 2 hrs to Victoria and Tofino. 30 min to Nanaimo or Courtney and 1 hr to Cambell River. Just a short 9 minutes to Qualicum Beach.     The SpaceThis clean & comfortable home features 2 bedrooms & a family room, with 2 new queen bed sets & a new double pull-out couch. The master suite has a 3 piece ensuite and 4 pieces in the main bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for the cook in the family. This house will comfortably sleep 4 people. The dining room seats 6-8. The home is family-friendly with books, puzzles and Duplo available for little ones. We have a high chair available and could have other items if needed. We have HD TV, free wifi and a phone to use for local calls. We are pleased to feature photos of the West Coast by local photographer, Graeme Owsianski. (If you want to take a peek at his work, he can be found on Tumblr under the name benchandcompass.) Enjoy ocean views from the living, dining, kitchen and family rooms. The large deck looks down on a beautifully landscaped yard and across to the ocean. In addition to off street parking there is space for parking a RV as well. Guest AccessGuests will have the use of the entire upper floor and access to the laundry downstairs. The garage can be made available for sports equipment if needed. The downstairs, self-contained suite is occupied by your hosts. Interaction with GuestsWe will meet with our guests upon arrival, familiarize them with the home and then will leave them be. We live on site, so are available at any time to answer questions, give directions or assistance. The NeighborhoodThis guest house location is so convenient! It’s tucked in a quiet, family neighbourhood, within walking distance to everything in town. It’s only 4 blocks to the shops and restaurants, a few minutes to the beach, golf courses, easy access to Highways 19 and 19A, sightseeing and recreation areas. Qualicum Beach’s Central Island location allows for easy day trips to Victoria, Tofino, Nanaimo and Courtenay. It’s just a one hour drive to airports and BC Ferries. Getting AroundIt is recommended that you travel by car. If preferred, there is a bus available to take you to nearby towns/cities. Other Things to NoteThe minimum stay is for 2 nights. Rates are reduced for more than 1 week and are negotiable for longer stays, depending on the season and availability. Check-in is at any time from 3:00 pm, check-out is no later than 11:00 am. This home has been inspected for safety by the Fire Marshall. It is equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke/carbon dioxide detector and first aid kit. All electrical, plumbing and gas have been recently inspected and upgraded to code.

      The SpaceThis is a West Coast style home-turned-B&B nestled amongst evergreen trees and natural gardens. Your room is a self-contained suite, up a flight of steps to a private second-story entrance. It has perfect views of the sun setting over the Salish Sea and mountains. This is a spacious room with a queen-size bed and two single-size beds, an ensuite bathroom with shower, a sitting/dining area, and a kitchenette (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, coffee maker, teapot, kettle, toaster oven, mini-fridge, microwave, utensils, glassware, tableware). It includes high-speed wi-fi, cable TV and easy off-street parking. My home is walking distance from Judges Row Beach, the old-growth Heritage Forest, the Qualicum Beach Visitors Information Centre, Memorial Golf Course, Milner Garden Trails & Woodlands, and several great waterfront restaurants. My home is set back from the Old Island Highway (19A), busy during the day, quiet at night, we're close enough to the ocean to hear the waves rolling in, sea lions barking and awaken to the trill of local eagles. Each room enjoys it's own private, outdoor seating area plus there's a wee rope swing(!) out front, to play on. Interaction with GuestsI greet my guests upon arrival to welcome them and pass on any knowledge they'd like about their space and the local area. I live in a separate part of the house and leave my guests to enjoy themselves privately. That said, guests are always welcome to come say hi or ask questions. The NeighborhoodI enjoy walking and love all the beautiful spaces that can be found within walking distance of my home. Nature abounds here: deer visit regularly, we hear owls hooting and sea lions barking at night while eagles and blue herons can be spotted in the day. We always love to see the quail babies and parents that share our property every year. Be sure to check out Judges Row Beach at low tide to catch the exposed sandy beaches. The trick is to go swimming just as the tide is coming back in over the sand. The water is warmed up by the hot sand and it's heavenly for an afternoon or evening dip in the waves. Other experiences include strolling along the Ocean Promenade, exploring the Heritage Forest trails, golf at the Memorial Golf Course, dining at the nearby waterfront restaurants, and smelling the flowers at Milner Gardens. With a 3-minute car drive, you can access downtown Qualicum Beach's restaurants, shops, art galleries, groceries and museum! Getting AroundVehicle: Qualicum Beach has minimal public transit. Vehicle travel is easiest though not required. Biking: Everything in Qualicum Beach is very close so biking is a great option as well. Public Transit: I am a 10-minute walk from the #90 Intercity Bus that will take you from Qualicum Beach, through Parksville, to Nanaimo, where you can transfer to BC Ferries or catch a Greyhound bus to Victoria. Check out the BC Transit website for schedules. There are local taxis and limousine services. Other Things to Note**Please note, breakfast is not included. Wakeup to complimentary tea, coffee or hot chocolate. **We're family-friendly for families with children age 9 and older. **Pets are not allowed in this space. Salt, pepper and some spices are already in the pantry with the necessary cooking utensils to prep a tasty local dinner. Your outdoor shower is a natural spa, set on the corner of the deck with the arbutus as your company. I would hope that my guests enjoy the camaraderie and embrace our alternative style of living. Getting AroundThe ferry to Lasqueti Island is walk on only, there is not a car ferry. There is no public transit on the island but the cabin is located only minutes from the ferry and within walkable distance to the beach, restaurant and store. Locals are happy to pick up travellers if you just stick your thumb out. Other Things to NoteThe ferry to Lasqueti is a walk on only, there is no car transport. During the summer months it can be very busy so it is important to arrive at the dock a minimum of 30 minutes prior to departure. Earlier for long weekends. On the busy days the ferry crew will put out boarding passes located on the metal post beside the ferry. With these in hand you must be on the ferry 15 min prior to departure to ensure passage. These passes are not always necessary but will be on the long weekends. Dogs - Although I have hosted some wonderful pups in my cabins, the island in general is leery of dogs due to the large population of feral sheep wandering freely on the island. Dogs must be on leash at all times and never allowed to run freely for their own protection. Medical Emergencies - Our island is serviced by a qualified team of first responders. If there was a medical emergency they would attend you and have you transported via Coast Guard or medi-vac to the nearest hospital. Power - The cabin electricity is generated by solar, hydro or gas generator if necessary. If the weather is cloudy it is possible that the power will go out during your stay. This is part of living off grid. Please disconnect any draws and use flashlights until the batteries have had time to recharge. minimum 1 hour of sunlight. Water - The water that services this home is untreated and it is therefore not potable. There is a Daulton water filter for drinking water and large jugs of water can be purchased on island. Heat - The house is heated by a wood stove usable from Sept - May. A sufficient amount of 1 tote of wood will be provided for each night of your vacation. Should you require more it can be purchased at a cost of $10/tote. Wifi - There is no wifi in the house. There is cellular coverage for tethering if internet access is needed. There is also wifi available at the pub. Lasqueti does not welcome media. If you are with the media or an independent journalist, please disclose. Failing to do so may result in you being asked to leave.

          The SpaceOur vacation home is within the city limits of Port Alberni but a country like setting. Close to all amenities, nature trail maintained by the City only 300 ft from the front door. Lots of gardens, also a fish pond with waterfall. We will provide our guests some of our produce from the greenhouse and gardens, providing they are in season. Guest AccessOur guests will have complete access to our home except one small room inside the home which is our private storage room. As well there is no garage access. Lots of parking on the property, as well in front of our home. Even if you bring your boat there is lots of room to park. As well we have an rv hookup beside the house. Getting AroundGreat bus service, will take you mostly anywhere you would like to go Other Things to NoteThere is a beautiful hospital only 1km away from our home. Lots of grocery shopping close by as well as a number of other convenient shops. Just 1.5 km away from the Harbour where you can book a day trip to Uclulet and Bamfield on the Lady Rose passenger ship, or just simply stroll the Harbour Quay.                 A warm welcome to our beautiful Sweet Escape! Beautifully decorated, your home away from home will relax you from the first moment you step in the door. A complimentary bottle of wine awaits you. The cottage has 2 master suites with queen pillow top mattresses, fine down comforters with a choice of memory foam or down pillows. In the living room you will find a deluxe fold out air bed that accommodates two. Our living room has a stone fireplace for cooler days with flat screen TV, Bose sound system, blue-ray DVD player with movies, books and games to play. The rustic solid acacia dining room table seats 8 on recycled teak or leather chairs. On the patio you will find the barbeque, table seating for six and a lounger as well as wicker sofa to breathe in the sea air. Please note: The pool and hot tubs are open June 15th to Sept 15th. It is only a few steps to the pool and clubhouse which has exercise equipment and a pool table. A few houses away is the gorgeous beach. The beach area has a fire-pit, sandy space and steps to the ocean. You will find everything you need to make your stay a memorable one, gourmet kitchen with induction range with other stainless appliances and stunning granite. The bathrooms have unusual granite counters, heated floors and towel racks, decorated in an classic yet modern style. The garage has 2 bicycles and helmets for your use and pleasure. New!!                   The Space. This clean & comfortable house features 2 bedrooms & family room, 2 new queen bedroom sets, a double pull-out & 2 bathrooms. It has a large deck & lots of parking. This house will comfortably sleep 4 people, the dining room seats 6-8. It is family-friendly with books, puzzles and Duplo available for little ones. We have a high chair and playpen available. We have HD TV, free wifi and a phone to use for local calls. We are very excited to be featuring photos of the West Coast by local photographer, Graeme Owsianski. (If you want to take a peek at his work, he can be found on Tumblr under the name benchandcompass.) Guest Access Guests will have the use of the whole main floor, deck and yard. There is limited access to the locked garage for storage of sports equipment if needed. Interaction with Guests We will meet with our guests upon arrival and then will leave them be. We live in the self-contained suite, so are available anytime to give directions or assistance. . Other Things to Note The minimum stay is for 2 nights.
