The SpaceWe've been visiting Quechee for over a decade, and probably looked at over 100 properties before settling on this place. It was the first place that felt like 'home' - and we hope it will feel the same for renters as well. It's a perfect set-up for 2 families with kids - with plenty of beds, and lots of play areas inside and out. Not to mention pretty much every activity you can think of within a short drive. We also love visiting nearby Woodstock or Hanover (home of Dartmouth College) for the shops and restaurants. We always make sure to visit nearby King Arthur Flour and the Montshire Museum (biased, but better than Boston Children's Museum in our opinion). The SpaceWe are new house owners and hosts. This small house is very comfortable and has great vibes. It has an open floor space plan for sitting and eating area, a kitchen, a bathroom, two bedrooms, and a small deck. We have done some renovations (a new porch roof and hardwood floors in the bedrooms) and are planning to make more! Many of the furnishings in the house are brand new or custom made. We try to keep it as clean and tidy as possible, and we expect the same from our guests. The house can accommodate a whole family — there are a queen size bed and a full size bed in the bedrooms and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. Instead of TV in the living room we have a computer with big screen. Our guests are welcome to use it. During warmer times of the year it's fun to cook in the kitchen with the deck door open wide to the green back yard and eat out on the deck. There are also many varieties of birds to watch. Last summer we had a few sightings of a Peregrine falcon in the tallest spruce tree behind the house. In summer and fall we often see the multicolored hot-air balloons floating in the sky above and making puffy noises from their burners. Our grandchildren are absolutely mesmerized by them! The kitchen is well equipped. Since everyone's taste and dietary requirements are very different, we don't serve breakfast but we do stock some kitchen essentials and coffee and tea. If you don't have time or inclination to cook, there are nice places in walking distance (0.2-0.4 ml) to eat out (Jake's Cafe and Simon Pearce Restaurant, overlooking the waterfalls and covered bridge). In the house, we have a list of directions to nearby stores and restaurants. We are sure you will have a pleasant time in the Blue Horse ranch — peaceful, quiet and private. Guest AccessGuests have access to the whole house. The check-in and check-out times are flexible. Interaction with GuestsVery minimal. If you need assistance or have questions, we are always available to help you via the phone, or you are welcome to ask our daughter or son-in law in the house next door. The NeighborhoodLocation, location, location! No matter where you walk or drive around Quechee, you will find yourself at a well known landmark or attraction any season of the year. Only a few minutes down the road from the Blue Pony ranch are many things to see: Quechee Gorge park and Quechee Gorge village market, Toy and Train museum, VINS Raptor and Nature Center, Quechee covered bridge, Simon Pierce glassblowing studio and restaurant, ski resorts (downhill, cross-country and snowshoeing), hot-air ballooning, and a cheese and maple syrup farm. And just a tiny bit further you will find: Billings farm and museum, Marsh National park, Upper Valley Aquatic Center, antique shops, art galleries, fine dining (and we mean fine!), horse stables, golf and tennis, more ski resorts, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, river tubing (the list is endless), and of course the highlight of each year — the spectacular leaf-peeping in the fall! And if you have a family member studying at Dartmouth college (like we do), it will take you only 15 minutes to get to Hanover and visit your dear one. There is a wonderful HOP center for the performing arts, Hood art museum, Baker library and the book store... In short, if you are visiting our beautiful Upper Valley, you might run out of time and money, but never run out of the things to do and to see!

The SpaceWe purchased this Quechee home a few years ago and enjoy sharing all that Vermont and the Upper Valley has to offer with guests. We think of our house as a great landing point for exploring all this area has to offer. Between the charming towns of Hanover, NH and Woodstock, VT both being less than 15 minutes away - there is always something to do. Easy access to hiking trails, river swimming, ski hills and fun shopping makes this an ideal spot for fun and relaxation. Bedrooms: Main Bedroom: King Bed Children's Blue Room: Queen Bed Children's Purple Room: Full Bed with Trundle Upstairs Bath: Full bath with shower/tub Downstairs Bath : Half Bath We purchased this home to raise our family in a Waldorf inspired lifestyle. While we are spending time at our family camp up north, off on a ski trip in the whites , or surfing in Maine we decided to open up our home to guests so that they too can have an authentic Vermont experience and enjoy all this area has to offer. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the whole house with limited access to the garage and basement which we use as storage. The SpaceThis is truly a unique experience. The 1909 library is still authentic with the original fireplace, wood floors and shelves custom stocked with interesting reading. The craftsman style is charming with 14 windows in 650 sq. ft. Gently added necessities include a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, tea pot and hot plate. I added a very comfortable new queen bed and claw foot tub with sprayer for hair washing. The bathroom and kitchen areas are basic but functional. Beautiful to sit outside by the fire bowl, hear the waterfall and enjoy the stars. You will not find a more friendly and quaint village than Quechee. You can walk in seconds to the covered bridge, waterfall, riverfront park and restaurants. The Parker House Inn across the street is owned by Adam and Alex, bartender and chef extraordinaire's who are hands on creating a wonderful experience each visit. Don't miss it! The back route to the Quechee Gorge is a half mile from the door, via Dewey's pond. Park and walk the road less traveled. Also don't miss hanging out on the rocks by the bridge. We want it to be a good value, a good experience and a good time for all. The NeighborhoodYou will have to visit Parker house Inn and Simon Pearce. They blow glass all day in the basement. Facinating to watch. Many of the neighbors work there so you may meet some great local artists in your travels. Walking is beautiful here. Library to the right. Bridge to the left. Enjoy. Getting AroundI suggest Balloons as my favorite Quechee transportation option. Balloon rides leave from Quechee all the time so don't be surprised when you see one floating by. Also kayak's are a fun get away plan! One minute off route 4, several miles from I 89 allows quick access to ski resorts in all directions. Other Things to Note10 min parking in front is lenient but I want it to stay that way so only overstay while unloading or pouring rain. An hour isn't pushing it. Off street parking can be accessed behind Parker House Inn. Also, the first left street after the library is access to the village green parking.

The SpaceThis is a 6 bedroom house on Quechee Hill next to a pond that is great for catching frogs or ice skating. An ideal winter, summer, or fall retreat for your family or families with a view of Mt. Ascutney. This is great for groups -- Girls or Guys Get-Away or couples and families-- for skiing, golfing, tennis, swimming, hiking shopping and dining in the area. There are 3 master bedrooms with full baths, and plenty of extra bedrooms and bunks for the kids, full kitchen amenities and outdoor grill available with three decks over looking the pond and ski hill. Living room has working fire place. A ski off and on in the winter and a quiet summer location off the Appalachian Trail in summer. Or roll down the hill and play golf, tennis, or work out and then lounge by the pool or the lake! Its split design insures peace and quiet even when you have filled the house with guests and kids. This house is a comfortable family get away with access to all the Quechee amenities down the hill -- golf, tennis, hiking, near the White River for tubing and kayaking and of course hiking... In the winter after a day of skiing your family can roll into the house and put on skates for a night game of hockey on the pond and you can watch from the dining room table! There are 2 interstates and an airport close-by so day travel is easy from this home. Shopping is also close with some of the top artisans in the world just a short drive away. With Woodstock on one side of us and Hanover, NH on the other, we have great neighbors and varied activities available. Simon Pearce, world famous glassblower is in the village of Quechee. You can watch glass being blown, shop for gifts and keepsakes, and then have lunch or dinner in the Simon Pearce restaurant overlooking the Ottauquechee river. This area is known for good food, clean air, and always interesting things to do. Billings Farm is always a fun day for the whole family. The Quechee clubhouse has a good restaurant, pools, tennis, a fitness center, a ski hill in the winter, cross country skiing, and of course, golf, on two 18 hole championship courses. The club also features many activities and programs from dinner dances and bridge to fireworks and torchlight parades. For groups of 8 and more the cleaning fee will be increased to $500.00 due to the increase in laundry. Thank you for understanding. The NeighborhoodWe are located on Quechee Ski Hill by a pond. A safe and secure environment. Kids can walk out the door to ski, skate, ride their bikes, or catch frogs. Ski in ski out. A great place for beginners to learn to ski. The bigger mountains, Killington, Okemo are a 45 minute drive. During the summer and fall take the gondola up Killington Mountain and have lunch at the mountain top lodge. Spectacular views. A 5 minute drive to the bottom of Quechee hill are two world class golf courses and tennis courts. Plenty of places to hike, bike ride and take a swim. View glassblowing at Simon Pearce and dine at their fabulous restaurant or eat at the Parker House all in Quechee Village on the green. Lots of farmer's markets in the area for local produce and goods. The village of Woodstock is a 20 minute drive for more fabulous restaurants and shopping. Other Things to NoteFor groups of 8 and more the cleaning fee will be increased to $500.00 due to the increase in laundry. Thank you for understanding.

My parents live in Connecticut (about 90 minutes away) but spend a good amount of time in the Quechee area; they will also be available for any issues or questions about the unit. And if they aren't the ones welcoming you to our unit, it will be one of our close family friends who reside full-time in Quechee. We have been renting the unit for over ten years with little issue, but rest assured that we will be there if you need anything during your time in Vermont. I also do want to note that we recently transitioned onto Airbnb from a brick and mortar rental agency, and some miscommunication on the calendar between my Dad and I (he isn't the most tech savvy guy!) resulted in the two early cancellations you will see attached to our listing. He now knows to check the Airbnb calendar before blocking off time in the unit for anything else, so don't worry -- this won't be an issue again. The NeighborhoodDartmouth Place's central location makes getting around Quechee very easy! The unit is situated just off the Highland Course's second hole and is just a half-mile walk from the Quechee Club (the drive is longer, around three miles) . Lake Pinneo, a private beach with boat rentals, volleyball courts, and other recreational opportunities, is an easy five-minute walk. "Downtown" Quechee and the renowned Simon Pearce restaurant is less than a mile and a half from the unit, while the Quechee Gorge is two miles away. Downtown Woodstock and its host of great restaurants is a 15 minute drive away. Getting AroundThe Quechee Club is less than a half-mile walk from the unit. Also nearby is Lake Pinneo Other Things to NoteMy family and I have been spending summers and winter vacations in Quechee for over 20 years now, so we have plenty of favorite restaurants and activities -- both in and around Quechee -- to share if you are curious! It's a really amazing area in a great state.
