The SpaceGrasstree b+b is a self catering bed & breakfast....or you can choose to bring your own breakfast or eat out at a nearby cafe. *After a year or two on airbnb, most people choose not to have breakfast provided so I have decided to make the default price WITHOUT BREAKFAST which may seem strange but it makes the booking process for my guests much easier. So if you would like breakfast, please enquire before you make a reservation request and I can alter the price for you. Alternatively, you can pay for breakfast either direct deposit or cash when you arrive. The same if you have children. Please simply enquire before you make a reservation request- otherwise airbnb will charge $30 per child. The system only allows me to enter one rate, sorry. I can either update price through airbnb or we can sort it out when you arrive, as above. Though Grasstree is not big, it is cosy and the decor is warm & instantly inviting, with a retro feel. Not everyone connects with "luxury"...instead we offer warmth & personality! We purpose built the Grasstree building to live in for 18 months while our house was being built. The exterior area you see in the photos is our shed of which Grasstree is part of. But please don't let that put you off! It is properly built with insulation etc, separated by an internal wall- you won't be disturbed by shed happenings! It really is a little home and very livable! Our house is a few metres away but we have created quite a private area for you, screened off by native shrubs. Though probably best suited for couples if you don't mind sharing a bathroom and being a little cosy in the living area, two couples or a small family are very welcome also. Please enquire about your dog also as we are quite happy to host well-adjusted dogs! Downstairs is an open living kitchen area, queen bedroom & bathroom. On the upstairs mezzanine level, a queen & single bed. Though no oven there is an electric hotplate & other appliances and a Weber Q BBQ. If you choose the breakfast option you will be provided with quality & local produce where ever possible. (Eggs from our happy chickens and perhaps seasonal veges from our garden). I have tried my best to extend wifi from my house into Grasstree without success unfortunately. But please, if you need to use wifi you can approach our house and you will pick up the signal. You can watch kangaroos & bird life from your pretty outdoor patio area while enjoying a wonderful Margaret River wine. Set in a semi rural bush environment you will have access to nature- very starry skies, beautiful bush walks, open space. We live in a simply beautiful area. But the entire Cape to Cape area is. It is blessed with a varied, stunning coastline, lovely climate, truly wonderful food & wine, caves, forests.... There is a lot to see, do & taste. Grasstree b+b is five kilometres from the pretty beachside town of Dunsborough & the calm waters of Geographe Bay, ten kilometres from Yallingup surf beach & just a little further to the acclaimed Margaret River wine region with it's many wineries & restaurants. (In fact most of the best wineries are situated half way between Dunsbourough and Margaret River townsite). We are situated in a great spot to explore the entire area. Please note- Two night minimum. Long Weekends, Christmas/ January holidays and Easter three night minimum stay. Thank you & look forward to meeting you! Guest AccessYou will be the only guests Your own carpark Your own outdoor area Interaction with GuestsI like to treat people as I expect to be treated. Very happy to help with recommendations, happy to chat when the opportunity arises but your privacy will be respected. As we do live on site you may see us hanging out washing or pottering around in the garden or other homely duties! The NeighborhoodOur area is open woodland, tall eucalypts and grasstrees. Our house and Grasstree were built around the trees. It is beautiful and peaceful. It feels far from town but it's not. Just a short walk away is untouched bushland. Getting AroundYou will need a car as there is no public transport in the area. Dunsborough does have a taxi service & there are plenty of winery tour businesses to choose from. Other Things to NoteIt is very likely you will see kangaroos while sipping on your Margaret wine in the late afternoon. And beautiful Splendid Blue Wrens...

The SpaceAlthough close to all the tourist attractions, the setting on 5 acres of bush guarantees tranquility and peacefulness. Birdsong is the predominant sound in the mornings and kangaroos can sometimes be seen grazing under the trees. The studio kitchenette is equipped with sink, fridge, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, tea, freshly ground coffee, milk, cutlery and crockery. It doesn't have a hotplate but the Alfresco gas Baby Weber Q cooks meat and fish beautifully. Designer Studio was winner of the WA 2014 Building Design Award for Alterations and Additions. Guest AccessThe Alfresco BBQ and outside dining area is for the exclusive use of guests. Dunsborough is just a few minutes drive down the road as is Clancy's Fish Pub. The Eagle Bay Brewery is 10 minutes drive away and so is the beautiful lagoon of Yallingup Beach. There are wineries galore but a person can also find a beach without a footprint in the sand. Just ask me where to go. Interaction with GuestsMy house has a separate rear entrance and parking so guests are made to feel that the space is all theirs. However, my guests have my phone number or can knock on my door if they want some help in planning a fun filled day or finding a shady spot on the edge of a white sand beach. The NeighborhoodThe studio is surrounded by nature but is also close to all the tourist attractions. It is a very calm and peaceful place and guests leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. Kangaroos can be seen quite close to the studio, especially early in the morning or at dusk. Getting AroundA car is essential to get around to see all the sights. If you are very energetic and fit you could do it on a bicycle but there are some big hills around here. You can park your right next to the studio and enjoy the drive back to the road along a winding tree-lined driveway. Other Things to NoteI can give advice and directions to surfers wanting to enjoy the waves in this area but aren't familiar with the local conditions. The same applies to stand up paddle boarders looking for flat water or small waves.
