The SpaceLocation One hour's drive from Queenstown airport, the Hill House is located at Queensberry, approximately half way between Wanaka and Cromwell. Set on the North Eastern tip of the Pisa range the house catches the first light of sun rise and last of the evening rays. Activities The Queensberry Hill House is a perfect home base for all the activities of the Southern Alps and Central Otago. Within one hour door to door you can be skiing four of New Zealand's most famous fields. Treble Cone, Cardrona, Snow farm and Snow Park. An extra half hour and you can be skiing at Queenstown or Ohau. The Pisa range and its high country trails are at your door step. Hikes lasting a few hours to days can begin from the Hill House. High country huts can be booked through the NZ Department of Conservation for overnight and longer walks. Fish for trout and salmon from the banks of the mighty Clutha River in direct sight from the house. From its vantage point looking down on the Archangel vineyard, the Hill House is an excellent base for exploring the local wineries including Felton Road, Mount Difficulty, Northburn Station and many others The Kitchen The large stainless steel kitchen is four meters by four meters in size and fully equipped with 750 mm wide four zone electric induction cooktop, 900 mm wide electric oven, twin commercial sinks and dishwasher. The 510 litre fridge freezer is ample for long or short stays. Nine meters of bench allows ample room for preparation. So if you are tired from all your activities and just want to stay at home and cook it is all there ready. The Bedrooms There are two bedrooms both with large windows facing north with views of the upper Clutha, Lake Hawea and the Southern Alps towards Mount Cook. One is fitted with a queen sized bed and the other with split-able king. Dining The dining space, five meters by four meters is located beside the kitchen with a table and chairs for six. Large sliding glass doors give direct access to the courtyard garden and dramatic views of the Pisa range. The central fire provides atmosphere and warmth in the winter months. The Bathroom Fully tiled porcelain floor and walls gives the bathroom a luxurious feel. There is a mirrored wall cabinet, ceramic basin and vanity unit, toilet and shower. The large North facing window gives yet another stunning view from the shower. Guest AccessComplete access to the house and 9 ha property. Interaction with GuestsOff site manager Other Things to NoteSecurity Camera Because the house is located within an area of low population density, there is a camera installed to maintain security of the property. The camera is located above the front door, pointing away from the house, looking up the driveway. The camera is used for the purposes of: Confirming arrivals and departures at the house Actively deterring unauthorised entry to the property The camera is used for no other purpose. Images are automatically deleted from the camera by being over written after 28 days.

Peace and Quiet, Magnificent Views. The Hill House is set on the outer rim of a courtyard garden twenty meters diameter, overlooking mountain and valley views. The house has a central entrance-way in the courtyard with the bedroom wing to North and the living wing to the east. In the bedroom wing there are two bedrooms and one bathroom and a laundry and separate toilet as well. The living wing is an open-plan space combining the kitchen linked to the dining which in turn is linked to the lounge. A large double-sided central wood fire provides warmth and comfort. The views are spectacular. To the North you look across vineyards and farm land towards Lake Hawea and the Southern Alps. To the east is the magnificent Cluther River with the Lindis and St Bathans range as a backdrop. To the South East look across the terraced farmland to the Dunstan range. To the South to the North West the Pisa range rises to the skyline broken by tor formations. The setting is absolutely peaceful, the nearest town is 30 km by line of site, and with very little light pollution its a great place for stargazing and astrophotography. The house has immediate access to the Pisa Range conservation area which is a wonderful place to picnic and hike. The Hill House is very well located to explore the Wanaka, Queenstown, Otago region. You can easily spend a week here with something exciting and different to do every day.

We will feed the animals each day but you probably wont see us.
