One hour's drive from Queenstown airport, the Hill House is located at Queensberry, approximately half way between Wanaka and Cromwell. At 600 metre elevation it has stunning views of the surrounding Southern Alps, the Clutha River valley, St Bathans and Dunstan ranges. Set on the North Eastern tip of the Pisa range the house catches the first light of sun rise and last of the evening rays.
The Queensberry Hill House is a perfect home base for all the activities of the Southern Alps and Central Otago. Within one hour door to door you can be skiing four of New Zealand's most famous fields. Treble Cone, Cardrona, Snow farm and Snow Park. An extra half hour and you can be skiing at Queenstown or Ohau. The Pisa range and its high country trails are at your door step. Hikes lasting a few hours to days can begin from the Hill House. High country huts can be booked through the NZ Department of Conservation for overnight and longer walks. Fish for trout and salmon from the banks of the mighty Clutha River in direct sight from the house. From its vantage point looking down on the Archangel vineyard, the Hill House is an excellent base for exploring the local wineries including Felton Road, Mount Difficulty, Northburn Station and many others
The large stainless steel kitchen is four meters by four meters in size and fully equipped with 750 mm wide four zone electric induction cooktop, 900 mm wide electric oven, twin commercial sinks and dishwasher. The 510 litre fridge freezer is ample for long or short stays. Nine meters of bench allows ample room for preparation. So if you are tired from all your activities and just want to stay at home and cook it is all there ready.
There are two bedrooms both with large windows facing north with views of the upper Clutha, Lake Hawea and the Southern Alps towards Mount Cook. One is fitted with a queen sized bed and the other with split-able king.
The dining space, five meters by four meters is located beside the kitchen with a table and chairs for six. Large sliding glass doors give direct access to the courtyard garden and dramatic views of the Pisa range. The central fire provides atmosphere and warmth in the winter months.
Fully tiled porcelain floor and walls gives the bathroom a luxurious feel. There is a mirrored wall cabinet, ceramic basin and vanity unit, toilet and shower. The large North facing window gives yet another stunning view from the shower.

Because the house is located within an area of low population density, there is a camera installed to maintain security of the property.
The camera is located above the front door, pointing away from the house, looking up the driveway.
The camera is used for the purposes of:
Confirming arrivals and departures at the house
Actively deterring unauthorised entry to the property
The camera is used for no other purpose.
Images are automatically deleted from the camera by being over written after 28 days.
