I am a real estate agent in Boston and live in Quincy, the town of Presidents. Quincy is 45 min by public transportation or 20 min by car to get into downtown Boston. I live in a safe and quiet neighborhood but still one mile to the center of Quincy where there are bars and live bands playing on the weekend. I love walking around Boston, from shopping on Newbury Street where you can get great designer clothing, to going to the farmers market and picking up food from great local farmers. I am a foodie who loves to cook and also super outdoorsy, biking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. Traveling is a wonderful experience that I wish for everyone. I am patient and understanding as I have been in the same situation, living in a home-stay with a different culture and language. Your home-stay should be just as fun and rewarding as your travels.

The Space15 minute walk to Wollaston beach!! My building was a 19th century old mill factory that turned into a condo complex. It's a nice, quiet, red brick building. I bought the condo back in 2009 and I love living here! The condo has two bedrooms and you are renting out one of the private rooms. It has a full size bed that accommodates 2 people, and a brand new twin size air mattress. The mattress is protected by a waterproof/bed bug proof/allergen free encasement that is washed between every guest that stays there. The condo is a 3-5 minute walk from the Wollaston train station. Once you get on the train, it's a 20 minute T ride to Park street (where everything is). Hannafords grocery store is also literally right next door. Guest AccessFull use of kitchen and living room. Shared bathroom with one other person, and it is cleaned every week. There is a washer/dryer on the same floor in which you need a swipe card to put money on it (I can give you the card) but at least it's not coin operated. Free wifi and parking. Interaction with GuestsNot much! I am not around a lot, you basically have the entire condo to yourself! I'm generally not home until after 10pm each night. I work a lot and have lots of personal activities going on so when I am home, I retreat to my room and give guests their own space to do their own thing. The NeighborhoodQuincy is far enough from Boston so that it is quiet (and cheap) but close enough so you can get to the city easily whenever you want to! Nearby there are a couple of bars, or if you want to go to Quincy Center, it's just 2 miles away (drive or take one T stop over) and there you can find more bars and a more active night life. Quincy Center is also where you can take a trolley to see the Quincy Adams house during the day. Getting AroundParking spot is included if you have a car. By T, from the airport, you take the silver line bus to South Station and then hop on the red line Braintree train to Wollaston (about 40 minutes). Other Things to NoteNo access to climate control but I have the heat on 65-68 in winter and off in summer. I can adjust as requested.

The SpaceIf you want to live like a real Bostonian, this is your chance: Almost everyone in Boston has, at some point, lived in a two- or three-family house like ours -- called two-deckers or even "Irish Battleships" around here. They were built to accommodate the population boom of Irish and other immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Bedroom 1: Queen bed, dresser & closet Bedroom 2: Full bed, dresser & closet Newly updated kitchen with dishwasher, gas stove, fridge, pantry (if there are specific groceries you'd like us to pick up for you in advance, just ask) Full bathroom Living room Dining room Back deck with picnic table Shared front porch with patio seating We live in the apartment upstairs, so we are typically available and are happy to tell you all about Boston and Quincy, but we can stay out of your way if you like. Bordering Boston to the southeast, Quincy, the "City of Presidents," is a vibrant and historic city in its own right. There's plenty to see and do here -- John Adams National Park, Marina Bay, Wollaston Beach, miles of coastline, and some fantastic restaurants -- but we're also right on the Red Line, making it super quick and easy to get into Boston or Cambridge. Our neighborhood, Wollaston, has a small commercial center with shops, restaurants, bars, and a 24-hour pharmacy, surrounded by quiet tree-lined residential streets. Quincy Center is a mile south, and North Quincy is about a mile north. At the end of Fenno Street you can walk, jog, or bike along Wollaston Beach with a view of the Boston skyline. You can often smell the ocean if it's breezy out. There are free public tennis and basketball courts down the street, and three nice playgrounds within walking distance, too. It's an easy 12-minute stroll to the Red Line (Wollaston stop on the Braintree line), or you can park at the station for $5. The Red Line offers direct access to downtown Boston and Cambridge, including Park Street, Harvard Square, MIT, and South Station -- where you can pick up the Silver Line straight to/from your airport terminal. There is ample free parking on side streets; parking in our driveway can be arranged. We have a toddler, and we know traveling with kid gear is a huge burden. So you are welcome to borrow a pack n' play crib, high chair, toys, etc. -- just let us know what you need. The SpaceGreat atmosphere with lots of original art and handmade ceramics. Some ceramics are for sale. The guest room and common living areas are kept clean, and the mattress has an allergy protection cover. The sheets and pillowcases are 100% cotton, and there are plenty of warm comforters and extra blankets and pillows. There is also a heavy cotton bathrobe provided for your convenience. The room itself is the only downstairs bedroom and is adjacent to the dining room. It has a set of French doors on two of the walls (so not suitable for couples on honeymoon), but we tend to be quiet in the evenings between 11:00 pm and 7:00 AM so noise has not been an issue. If you need to go to sleep very early, I cannot promise the place will be quiet enough for you. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs which are occupied by myself and 2 housemates. We ask that you respect our privacy and not come upstairs unless you have an emergency. The (shared) bathroom you'll be using is downstairs. Please note that it is SHARED, although we shower in the other bathroom upstairs. Please be considerate and clean up after yourself in the bathroom. IMPORTANT NOTE: While I do not and have never discriminated against any ethnicity or nationality (see reviews), I am reluctant to accept guests with no previous Airbnb history or positive ratings. This is my home, not a separate apartment. My female housemates and I need to feel safe with our guests. Please have a profile that says something about who you are and what you do. Please also let me know the purpose of your trip. Again, please understand that this is my home, not a hotel. There is space to do yoga in the room, in the living room or outside, and I have extra yoga mats. Just ask. If you would like a private lesson, we can arrange that as well. I have over 15 years experience as a professional dancer and yoga teacher, and have studied pilates, weight training, and nutrition. I specialize in soft, therapeutic forms of yoga, but am capable of leading a challenging yoga workout if desired. Guest AccessThere is a mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room. Tea and coffee are provided for short-term guests (2 or 3 nights) and for long-term guests before you've had a chance to settle in. I ask that you limit your use of the kitchen to making tea/coffee, toast, snacks, or warming up something from a can. There really isn't enough space for elaborate meal preparation by guests. You are welcome to eat in the dining room or on the front porch, in addition to your room. You would be using the downstairs bathroom (recently renovated with all new tile and fixtures) which is SHARED. We have another bathroom upstairs which can be used in an emergency. We ask that you respect our privacy and not come upstairs unless you have an emergency. The spacious living room is warmed by a wood stove (in the winter) in the evenings if I'm around, and has a smart TV. A glass door lets in light and opens out to the backyard with lounge chairs (in the summer). The enclosed front porch is often warm enough even in the winter months on a sunny day and is a great place to eat, enjoy a drink or read. Interaction with GuestsI love meeting new people! Happy to hang out a little or a lot, depending on our schedules, mutual preference and comfort level. The layout of the house allows everyone to have their own space if desired. The NeighborhoodThe Wollaston Beach area has lovely tree-lined streets and is pleasant and safe to walk in. Plus, my house is only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Quincy Shore Drive is my outdoor gym, and offers a great view of the Boston skyline. We are a 20 minute drive from great hiking in the Blue Hills, and about 30 minutes from great beaches in the Hingham/Nantasket areas. Turn left out of the front door and walk two blocks; you will find yourself on Quincy Shore Drive by Quincy Bay. I generally like to cross the street and turn right (south). You can easily walk for at least 45 minutes before reaching the end of the bay. You will pass by clam shacks and a local bar called The Beachcomber. If you turn right out of the front door and head up W. Elm Ave, it will soon turn into Elm Ave. Once you reach Hancock St., you will find several restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk. For low-key, affordable fare in the neighborhood, I recommend Fuji (698 Hancock St.) for Japanese food, Pho Linh (409 Hancock St.) for Vietnamese food, and Assembly (425 Hancock St.) for American style food and drink. O B's Cafe (74 Billings Rd.) is great for a classic diner style American breakfast. If you want good coffee and wifi with your breakfast, check out Gunther Tooties (1253 Hancock St.). We also have the requisite Starbucks, and Quincy Center has several restaurants and bars at different price levels. Getting AroundWollaston T station is only a 12 to 15 minute walk away, as are many restaurants, pharmacies, and dry cleaners. There's also a bus stop just a few yards away from the front door. Other Things to NoteI have two cats: one shy, and one very friendly. They are kept out of the guest room, but have access to the rest of the house. If you are a cat lover, they will happily visit you in the guest room if you're okay with that. Please be very careful when coming and going through the front door to not let them out. The front door must be locked every time you enter or leave the house.
