As we both work from home, we’ll be around most of the time. However, we probably won't be able to hang out too much during office hours 8 - 5. The NeighborhoodOur house is in a typical Raglan residential area approx 1km from the town centre. Our street has lighting, but no footpath, and curbing one side only (our side). We have neighbours either side, but it's generally a very quiet neighbourhood - and the outlook from the studio is mostly bush, quite private.
Raglan itself is a vibrant town with great cafes, galleries and a lively music scene (especially in summer). The rocky points, well known as one of the best surfing destinations in the country, are 8km from town. There’s also a very popular black-sand beach, typical of our west coast, with lifeguards on duty during the summer and surf lessons year-round. The road that continues along the coastline offers stunning views, more remote beach options, and also accesses many bush walks including a hiking trail up Mt. Karioi. Getting AroundThe centre of town is a 10 minute walk downhill (perhaps 15 min back up). The Norrie Ave bus stop is an easy 2-minute walk, with regular daily service to/from Hamilton. If required, there are shuttle services available to Auckland Airport. For total freedom, having a car is recommended. We can help you with maps of the local area, and places to see. Other Things to NoteWe really appreciate knowing in advance when to expect your arrival, so please do let us know what time you think you're arrival will be, and keep us informed of changes.
We generally pencil check in time as being 3pm or after, and check out time by 11am. But depending on travel plans (yours, and other bookings either side) we can often jiggle that around. So closer to the time, let us know your plans, and we can finalise your arrival details.
We have a cat who can be quite entertaining, when she appears. We also have friends and family that occasionally visit. But for the most part, our home is very quiet and relaxed. Please note our property, including the outdoor areas, is strictly non-smoking.
