The SpaceWarm and cozy home in the Sierra Foothills with a huge redwood deck, gas BBQ and outdoor furniture. Home has Wifi, Wide Flat Screen TV, central heat and AC, wood stove, a large kitchen, and washer/dryer for laundry. The kitchen is stocked with tea n' coffee, oatmeal, cereals and toast for your morning ritual, microwave, gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, laundry, washer and dryer. PLEASE PRINT DIRECTIONS BEFORE DRIVING , and save map on phone to read offline. 3G service is spotty, 4G even more so. Verizon is better than ATT. We are in the Sierra Foothills east of Sacramento and east of Stockton. Our home is at 3000' elevation so we get some snow depending on the year. We are located in a small village with small groceries, gas, and pizza available, but for big shopping it is 30 min. to Jackson. Kirkwood Ski resort is a 45 min. away; South Lake Tahoe is 1- 1/2 hrs east; New Melones Reservoir is 1 hour south; Yosemite is 2 1/2 hrs south. We have quaint Gold Rush era towns, Wineries, Cave tours, Gold mine tours, hiking, fishing, boating, and other local attractions. We live in the house and our guest room has recently been redone with a Queen size bed and separate bath is on immediate right outside of room. Our living room has a queen size pull out sofa for extra guests and we have plenty of sheets, bedding and towels. If you are interested special arrangements may be made for dinner, or transportation to ski resort (this maybe good for those afraid of driving in the snow). I'm a good cook and interested in many cuisines, Asian, Indian, Thai, Moroccan, Mexican, and Vegetarian, etc. Our one cat listed lives outside and has her one reserved seat on the deck although she is extremely shy and rarely seen by visitors. The dog is your typical yellow Labrador, always ready for a game of fetch and always an optimist that you will be back to play again. If you did want to bring pets, please write and describe before booking. The yard is abundant with forest visitors, raccoon, wild turkeys, quail, hummingbirds, and too many deer to count. Come on up see the stars and visit with nature. Guest AccessA private bedroom, with queen bed and one adjacent bathroom, Common areas include, living room with queen hide-abed. Kitchen is open please help yourself, David makes great morning coffee! Interaction with GuestsWe would love to suggest area's to visit depending on your trip. Where to kayak, swim and water play, the wine tasting route, best slopes to snow ski, which antique stores and restaurants to visit in historic Jackson, Sutter Creek, and Mokelumne Hill. We are here to help you enjoy your stay in the mountains! The NeighborhoodWe love the quiet, and the sound of the hummingbirds buzzing by to the feeders. There are many lakes nearby and we enjoy the kayaking. For a small town we have an active community theater, bustling youth center, community garden with bocce court, and a live streaming FM radio station KQBM 90.7, or 103.9FM. Our small community of West Point has one of the largest little celebrations in the mother lode, the first Saturday in October. The activities include, a Parade, Soap Box Derby, logging & axe throwing contests, Car Show, Horse judging, a children's activity area, wild west shootout, and live bands all day. LUMBERJACK DAY, is now in it's 42nd year, Saturday October 1, 2016. Getting AroundWe are very far from public transportation. We do have a daily shuttle to the next town but that's about it! Other Things to NoteOur home has cable, internet, and WIFI, but....cell phone service is not a sure thing. We are in the Sierra mountains with unpredictable coverage.

The SpaceDesigned for families, friends, group retreats, and solo getaways, the chalet is a two-story house with cell phone reception and WiFi with high-speed DSL. We offer two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry room, and a common area with piano and wood stove. Outside you'll find a spa, badminton court, ping pong table, and kid’s basketball court. Admire the stunning mountain view or stargaze from the deck. This place is perfect for people wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy world. It's secluded, but not isolated. The location is perfect for all sorts of recreation, both indoors and outdoors: skiing, snowboarding, boating, swimming, fishing, mountain biking, spelunking, rock climbing, wine tasting, gambling, or just poking through antique shops in quaint Gold Rush towns. Guest AccessWe are 1/2 mile off a state highway, with access via a gravel road. We get occasional snow at our 3,000-foot elevation a few times a year, but usually with plenty of warning. The property sits on 5 acres of mixed pine, oak and manzanita, all accessible for your enjoyment. The site is surrounded by BLM land with access to the general public. There is a wide variety of wildlife: deer, turkey, raccoons, and even an occasional bear or mountain lion. Interaction with GuestsUpon your arrival you'll be greeted by one of the management team to give you a brief overview. The NeighborhoodThe uniqueness of The Glencoe Chalet lies in its idyllic location. Glencoe is on a state highway that leads to nowhere so we have very light traffic. The Glencoe Chalet offers peace and serenity in a natural setting, yet is only 30 - 45 minutes from tourist attractions such as Shenandoah Valley wineries, Kirkwood ski area, art galleries, picturesque Gold Rush towns, restaurants, antique shops, a casino, spelunking, and more. Lake Tahoe is two hours away and Yosemite is three hours, but both are within reach as day trips, and offer a scenic drive through the mountains. Getting AroundGlencoe is off the beaten path, so having a vehicle is a must. Four wheel drive is not necessary, but it is suggested for winter travel. Depending on winter conditions, travel to the ski areas may require tire chains, but nearby Highway 88 offers rear-round access to the Eastern Sierra and Nevada. Other Things to NoteIf you'd like to use the 2-person spa, please let us know when booking your stay, as there is an additional charge of $16 for the days you want. We can have it ready for your arrival. It’s easy for pets and children to become lost in the woods if unattended. Please keep your pets on a leash while outside. There is a leash law in this county, and it's as much for your pets’ safety as it is to protect the wildlife. Fire is a great concern in this area. Bonfires are illegal during fire season (usually May 1 through October), but fire danger exists all year, so please be mindful and do not leave fires unattended.
