The Conservatory houses a Pool Table made of solid Indian Rosewood with hues of Mahogany .The room with its wooden ceiling, Cane Blinds, Oil paintings, Antique wall plates, Crystal lights & Brass switches transforms you to a bygone colonial era. One can spend endless hours playing Pool whilst the pristine white ceiling-to-floor pained windows allow in sufficient light to create a glow, and provide an unobstructed view of the pleasant outdoors vistas & Courtyard.
Those interested in Art, can admire the collection of old sketches, lithographs & photos that adorn the walls of all the rooms. The unique attribute of this collection is that although it relates to various subjects such as history, British Raj, flora & fauna, customs, sport & landscapes but they all pertain to this region that the cottage is situated in. Interaction with GuestsAlthough we (the hosts) do not stay on the property, nevertheless we are available on the phone at all earthly hours for any assistance that you might seek. The NeighborhoodThe cottage is nestled in a small English garden, adjacent to a patch of stately Pine & Deodar trees overlooking the spectacular snow bound Himalayan peaks.
There are dense Oak Forests of Mahesh Khan (only 15 minutes away). The higher reaches & mountain tops are covered with Deodar, Birch & Fir (short walks away). Whereas all the surroundings are interspersed with the Rhododendron which bears beautiful, blazing red flowers from February to May every year. Other varieties such as Kaphal, Padam, Mehal & Chestnut are found everywhere. Wild flowers such as daisies, roses and lilies abound among the mind boggling variety of grasses, ferns & Lichens.
Ramgarh and its environs teem with bird life,and have numerous varieties of (URL HIDDEN) and around Taradale Cottage various rare species of Himalayan animals can be found. Leopards are abundant, and we have a regular visitor to our patch of forest in our compound at Taradale. Getting AroundLocated 325.Km from Delhi. Our location is off the road and is accessible by a brief walk, which adds to the serenity of our property. The nearest Bus station is 2 Km from our place.And the nearest railway Head is a One and a half hour drive from Kathgodam. Taxis are available at the railway station. There are Air-conditioned Bus Services from Delhi to Nainital,Haldwani or to Kathgodam . And the nearest airport is at Pantnagar. Other Things to NoteWe are around 300 yards off the road, so cars cannot drive into the property. A path from the road leads to the Cottage. We offer a porter service and a wheel chair.
