In our kitchen, we provide a fridge for your use and we welcome you to use our kitchen and dining area for your family breakfast. We do offer a generous Continental breakfast. Outside seating and BBQ is provided for your relaxation, and a fire pit inside our pavillion - weather/season permitting. We are currently constructing an all weather shelter for BBQ and outside cooking/eating - with magnificent views to the West. Generally, you will feel that you have the house to yourselves, not just your apartment. We will have everything ready for you to relax and unwind - come and go as you please, no need to bring sheets. Walk around the property and meet our animals - bring your own, too!! Walk down our driveway to the Village where you will find exceptional Cafes for coffee, soup snacks and lunch; sit up at the bar in our Boutique Brewery - Loch Bitters and their own Gin, Gin Liquer and Whisky to come! If you wish to do major cooking we will be happy to leave the kitchen for your use, and at that point you will enjoy the freedom of the house and, if it is very cold, the open fire. Our bedroom is at the other end of the house, and we can be self-sufficient, so no need to fear you are disturbing us....the house is for you to enjoy, and we will not disturb you. Interaction with GuestsIf you wish complete privacy, this is easy. However, if you care to join us or meet our animals etc; and walk the estate....we are only too happy to share our stories and hear yours also. Upon request, we can take you to our friends farms to watch and learn - milking the cows, you name it and we will do our best to make it happen.... BBQ, trees to climb, room to run and roll - all available. The NeighborhoodFrom the house we have 360 degree views. Walk out onto the 7.5 acres green grass and roll down the hill, sit under the trees, climb the trees, experience the quiet and watch the cows and other animals and wonderful birdlife all around. Coal Creek Historical village; Philip Island and Wilson's Prom not far away. I love that we can stroll down our driveway and we are there in the Village of Loch. Stroll through the Village, several coffee shop choices and a wonderful Gift Shop with the best and inexpensive gifts available. Geoff and I can recommend local sheep and goat's cheese tasting opportunities and markets, particularly the very popular Kongwak market each Sunday. The Gippsland Wine Co. is in the Village, and here you commence the Gippsland Wine Trail, have a yarn with Mark, and try his outstanding award wining wines! Dinners are available close by at The Poowong Pub; and other places we can recommend...or use our BBQ/spit! Our own boutique Brewery has received much Press lately, as well as the Winery across the Hwy - wine tasting extravaganza! Let us know which bus you will be on and we will come to meet you! Both cottages have an expansive deck where you can sit back and enjoy the views. The space is private and very relaxing. The cottages are 80 metres apart and separated by a tree belt, and about 100 metres (and more trees in between) from the owners house. The Space83 acres of recently logged, recovering, and natural bushland with an amazing creek. The walk from the cabin to the top of the hill is 4.3 km and you will climb 220 metres vertically. Over 5km of tracks for motorbikes, 4 wheel drives or for nature buffs to quietly wander and explore. An excellent space for Dads and kids to go riding together. 2 full days of fun and much less than the $1000 fine and criminal record if you go bush. REC reg is advised for your protection. Four separate flat private areas for campgrounds available up the hill for friends as well, no extra cost. The property is yours, how many and who you invite is no concern of ours (within reason, up to 30). Guest AccessThe whole place is yours. Explore the forest, stretch your body, relax the mind, breathe the aroma's, stroll the creek, climb the hills, inhale deeply, listen to the birdsong, unwind the stress, slow down and forget the frantic city life. Never want to leave...... Access is from 9 am Saturday until sundown Sunday. We will be there to greet you and show you around. Interaction with GuestsIf you want, a cup of tea on arrival and a guided tour showing some of the so far discovered highlights of this unique and rare property. Please respect our collection of Gippsland earthworms. They are unique to this area but are sensitive creatures and die if injured. You will see the big holes everywhere. The creek is a special place to explore and discover. Don't throw, drain, wash, or put anything in the creek please, please, please. The NeighborhoodLocated near Ferndale there ain't much around. Ferndale isn't exactly the Riviera of Victoria. But once you pass through the front gate, you will be in no hurry to go anywhere else. The area surrounding Wombat Hollow is mainly tree plantation or dairy cattle. Watch out for milk trucks when driving. There is about 6 km of dirt and the road is fairly twisty from Korumburra. From Dandenong it will take you around 1 1/2 hours to get there. Not too far, not too close. Getting Around2wd cars will make it to the cabin and to the back of the block. After that it is 4wd territory. Pushbikes will have an awesome ride down hill but getting to the top is hard work. Walking is good. You will be amazed at what you will find as nature does her stuff and reclaims the land. A future plan is to try electric bikes. You can bring motorbikes, four wheel drives, buggies and 6 wheelers. All of you will be blown away. Other Things to NoteBring yer own bed! This is an empty, carpeted 2 room cabin with 83 acres of heaven and 4 other campsites attached. It is a male domain. It is not romantic. It is camping in a cabin. There is no light, no power, no water, no phone, no internet. There is however, 2 couches, a gas barbeque, a big lounge room with a big fireplace and heaps of firewood and a concrete floor you can get muddy and spill stuff on. The lounge room also has a full sized side opening wall into the big carport and outdoor fire pit for the ultimate party house. There is undercover parking for 6 cars next to the cabin and parking for trailers and extras down the track 500m. There is no where to wash and you must bring your own plaster bucket with lid for the existing dunny (see photo's) or porta potti. Take EVERYTHING home with you. The environmental sensitivity is the reason we only let the property out 2 nights per month. Seriously, if you can explore every inch of this property in 2 days I tips me hat. Perfect for a boys weekend, bucks weekend, family camping get together, Dad kid time or for that rare woman who appreciates real nature, an incredible couples retreat. It is nature, not luxury.
