A dresser and walk in closet allow for plenty of clothing storage. Guest AccessThe property is located at the end of a small country lane. The loft occupies the second floor of the owner's woodworking studio/greenhouse. It is separated from the house by a lovely covered deck and has separate entrance so you can come and go as you please. There is a full flight of stairs with a small mud room half way up. Plenty of on site parking. Interaction with GuestsWe will greet you upon arrival. For the remainder of your visit we will respect your privacy and will be available if you need anything. We have lived here for 35+ years and have hiked and skied extensively and are happy to share our insights and experiences upon request. The NeighborhoodRandolph is a very small mountain community. It is best known for its views, fine hiking trails and waterfalls. It has been said to have the densest concentration of trails anywhere in the US. There is a yarn/gift shop, a gas station/convenient store, town swimming hole, and a wonderful public library. The nearest towns are Gorham/Berlin 10 minutes away for shopping and dining. North Conway and Littleton are a 45 minute drive. The northern NH location allows for many scenic drives into the Great North woods or into Vermont or Maine. Recreation opportunites abound. Too many to list. Getting AroundYou will need to have a private vehicle. Other Things to NoteAn additional 9% NH Lodging tax will be assessed to the nightly lodging fee and payable upon arrival. No additional fees. There is another separate small rental cottage on the property.

The SpaceRandolph is a small unique mountain community. FMI look up "Nickerson" in the book "Randolph Old and New", 1924 -- this is the Nickerson Cottage, owned by the Horton family since about 1940. The house sleeps 5. Guest AccessWhatever's in the house -- books, TV, trail maps, as well as access to the entire Randolph trail system. The Appalachia Parking Lot, on the map page, is one of the main entries to the trail system here. "Mossy Glen," a beautiful spot on Carlton Brook, is only 0.2 mi N of the house. Interaction with GuestsMuch of the time I'll be in an adjacent house and be available for hikes, drinks and the like. The NeighborhoodHiking, walking, bicycling, sitting on the porch. The town library is nearby. Getting AroundNo public transportation. There's a Gorham-Berlin bus route, a Gorham-Concord-Boston intercity bus route, and the AMC shuttle service. Other Things to NoteNotes on 12 Mossy Glen Way It is always hard to know how hot or cold it will be in Randolph. There is a heating system in the living room over by the window closest to my house. When the red light is on the system is running. The master bedroom also has an electric heater and a fan. The main upstairs bedroom has an electric heater as well, and there is also an extra fan. The fireplace works. If you need more wood, it is under my house. There is also a cart on your porch with some wood on it, and you can always get more. Most windows are crank-out style and there are cranks lying around here and there if they are not in the windows. There is unrestricted wireless internet. You can freely use the computer in the front hall but it is very slow and quite old. What else --- if you have any questions, issues, problems, please give me a call at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) whether I am around or not. Please feel free to call me – I would like you to feel comfortable and secure. The trail to Mossy Glen is very short. After you go over the Nepalese Bridge be sure to ascend the right side of the brook for a ways to see the potholes. If you walk West on Durand Rd you will come to a trail on the left which leads to Lake Durand, where you can swim. If you continue on this trail to the right and go around the lake you will come to the Appalachia Parking lot on the other side of Route 2. I realized I had to pay the 9% NH tax, so I raised the rates by 4%. There is no lock on the front door and I do not plan to have one. No one is going to break in. If you plan to go hiking, please have some familiarity with the current AMC White Mountain Guide. The 29th edition is available on Amazon and it is available in the house. Trails that look straightforward on a map can turn out to be much more challenging and/or exposed to the weather than you might imagine. The warnings about potential extreme weather conditions are real. Ask me about a trail -- I have hiked most of them. In June and early July -- black flies!!!
