The SpaceThis place is a scene like nothing else you will find in Japan! Welcome to beautiful Hokkaido! This is a place to come to relax and get away from it all. Leave the city alone and reconnect with nature. We have onsen, beaches, hiking, rice fields, forests, wildlife, biking, running, mountain biking and most of all winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding.
The house has 6 single beds, 4 of which are bunk beds. 2 are just beds on their own. It also has a large cot which can be used for a 7th bed. You can put as many people in here as you want, with no extra charge, within reason! Guest AccessYou have access to the whole house. My house is your house! There is soda and beer normally on property for a fee. There is a small money box in the refrigerator that you place your payment inside. Interaction with GuestsYou have the place to yourself. I am not on property, but you can communicate via email, call me or contact me through AirBNB. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is one of the most relaxing places in the world. It is quiet and there are mountains on all sides. You can hike to the peak if you want. Enjoy yourself! Go walk through the woods or fish in the river. Admire Japanese farmers growing rice the same way they have for generations. Getting AroundMena station (on the same track as Rankoshi, Niseko and Kutchan) is only 2 minutes drive away or 1.5km walk. Other Things to NoteGetting to and from the property is easy, but it can be a little overwhelming the first time. The train ride is along the Hokkaido coastline and absolutely stunning! I am available to guide you exactly to the correct place. If arriving at Chitose (CTS) airport near Sapporo please take the JR Hokuto (北斗) line towards Hokodate. You want to buy a ticket to Oshamanbe Station. You can purchase a reserve ticket which guarantees you a seat. This is what I recommend. You can transfer to the JR Hakodate Line (函館本線) towards Otaru Station if you want to ride all the way to Mena.
If coming from Hakodate Airport (HKD), which is equally convenient to the house, just take the train from Hakodate Station to Oshamanbe Station in the direction of Sapporo.
If arriving in Kutchan - buses are easiest in the winter - take the train station's only line towards Oshamanbe Station. It is 5 stops (Kutchan - Hirafu - Niseko - Konbu - Rankoshi - Mena) from Kutchan Station to Mena Station, where the house is located. Trains run in each direction 5 times a day every few hours. The train is a great way to get to the house on your first day and return to the airport, but it is less convenient to use every day. We recommend having a vehicle.
If driving to the house there are several different options, but the express way is the fastest. Just use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and head to Mena Station which will take you within a few minutes of the house.
