The SpaceBrand new listing! Just over an hour from Cape Town and you can be in the most beautiful surroundings of Mount Bain Private Nature Reserve. The scenery quickly draws you in to the serenity of the Cape Mountains, vineyards and your very own crystal clear river to bliss out in. There are few locations in the Western Cape which remain relatively undiscovered by the local Capetonians. Rivers Own in the Mount Bain Reserve is, however, a rare gem waiting to be enjoyed. Guest AccessThe house is yours to enjoy for your stay with all access to: lemon tree orchards - feel free to pick a basket full, the private river frontage - swim in the clearest of mountain water rivers, barbecue island with a bundle of supplied wood, a welcoming kitchen to get creative in and sprawling beautiful green lawns to picnic, play and relax on without a care in the world. Interaction with GuestsCaretaker, smiling Hassan from Malawi, lives permanently on the property and will be happy to assist if you need any help. Our family of four sons and loving parents will not be on the property, but will be available to contact and give advice on your stay, the area or the rest of your trip to Cape Town. The NeighborhoodIt’s a surprise to many coming from Cape Town to so quickly be on the incredible Bain’s Kloof Pass and in these special mountains with fynbos walks, stretches of rapids, waterfalls and natural pools to adventure in, some of the best mountain bike trails in the country, and all the benefits of a special area which is part of the UNESCO Boland Mountain World Heritage region – keeping the area protected and in it’s most natural and unexploited state. Getting AroundHiring a car is a good idea and the place is so easy to find, as well as being a fantastic drive via the town of Wellington and the famous Bain’s Kloof Pass on the R301. Alternatively tour guide driver Juma will collect you, bring you safely to River’s Own and take you back for the standard rate transfer fee to and from Cape Town (currently R800 o/w). There is so much to do in the area, but once you are checked in, you may well find you are happy to not move from our home, which has all you need for to fulfil your needs. Other Things to NoteCherry picking, snow adventures, wine tasting, vineyards, orchards, river adventures, kloofing, mountain biking, rock pool exploring, hiking, trail running, star gazing, and much more fun is all prevalent in the area, depending on the season.
