The SpaceUnique 1860's stone house, with lots of space and privacy. 2 bedrooms, 2 queen beds, 1 pull out sofa, and a very large comfy sofa. I also have neumerous air-matresses if you have over 6 guests staying. I am very close to several major roads, and about 2 miles from Reading regional airport, but don't let that frighten you! It's actually a very nice "out in the country" feel.

- This place is BIG. Though I have it specified for 5 (as that's how many true sleeping places there are) - I have the room for 30+ people in this house if they all bring air mattresses. It it's just 1 or 2 or 3 or 5 people coming, you have a grand amount of living space!
You will have access to an entire private floor, with private entrance / exit. off street parking, 2 private bed rooms with locking doors, 2 full bathrooms with locking doors. You also get (all to yourself) a full laundry room, full kitchen, and if you wish to use it, there is a large family room that's about 1500 Sq feet. - this large room is typically un heated in the winter, but can be heated by request.
Please message me via airbnb. I will most likely be present during your stay in a separate wing of the house, but often times have a very busy schedule so you may not see much of me, but I should generally be available for anything you may require, just ask. I stock the house with all typical need items, wash cloths, toiletries, towells, clean linnens between every guest stay.
The neighborhood is "out in the country" - not a high population density at all. There are little clusters of houses that were at one time or another (before the use of automobiles) situated around areas of work. Our stonehouse was originally built for quarry workers. All our neighbors houses were likely used for the same purpose. You need a car of a bike to get around today, as there are no sidewalks and it's about a 1 mile drive to "the main drag" - I don't suggest walking.
Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) is the public transit provider. If you want to get around Berks county, you need to rent a car or have a good bike and be fit. I would avoid BARTA unless you like walking long distances to the bus stop, and then waiting an hour and 1/2 for a bus...
Ongoing "projects" with the house are frequent (being that it's 150 years old) - so there may be a thing or 2 taken apart or being repaired, or out of service, but it will be nothing too serious if I have the place listed as available! Its an old house, but very functional.
Smoking allowed on the front porch area only please!
Please note, I DO allow pets (noisy ones are not a problem, but they must kept in a sanatary manner, and they are NOT allowed in the beds), many of my guests have taken advantage of this. I try to clean as best I can, however you may find a stray dog hair or 2 on your visit. If this is an issue I suggest you book with a "no pets allowed" host, as once one allows pets you are never getting 100% of the pet-pair removed. Everything is clean washed and tidy, but if you go checking in every single corner of the house expect to find some pet hair if you look long enough. This most likely would only be an issue for those HIGHLY allergic to dog/cat hair, but I wanted to mention it.
If your stay is more than one night, please note that beds and basic cleaning up after yourself is your responsibility. The property and all linens are thoroughly cleaned between guests. Upon your departure, any used linnens & towells should be placed in or on the washer. Guest AccessUpon confirmed reservation, I will provide you with a door code that you can punch into the keypad to gain access to the house. Please be sure to use this TOP lock only when entering & exiting, as it is the only one that works with the keypad. Interaction with GuestsI can be contacted through phone, e-mail or text message at almost any time. I try to stop by and say hello to my guests at least once while they are staying and make sure they have everything they need, however sometimes I realize that our times just don't sync up, I am often working late these days, so you most likely won't see much of me aside from our initial hello's unless there is something that you need. The food in the fridge is for you, so feel free to eat it. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is rural, and the house is in a small cluster of houses formerly near a quarry. You can't really get anywhere without driving as there are no sidewalks, so be sure to have some form of transportation. You have access to plenty of off street parking and you can get to several local stores via car or bike within just a few minutes. Getting AroundAs far as getting around in Berks county, you want to have a car at your disposal. There are no sidewalks for almost a mile from my house. Other Things to NoteOngoing "projects" with the house are frequent (being that it's 150 years old) - so there may be a thing or 2 taken apart or being repaired, or out of service, but it will be nothing too serious if I have the place listed as available!
