The SpaceThe queen room is quite large & will accommodate two people very comfortably. The bathroom is located inside the room & includes a clawfoot tub with shower. The home & room are well-appointed & cozy. We provide linens, towels & a local phone in the room. Guests should bring a calling card for long-distance calls. There is no TV, & Red Cliff has no cell or text service. We use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) for wifi texting. Our satellite internet bandwidth is very limited, so it may only be used for email. Guests are welcome to bring a laptop or portable DVD player & may borrow from our DVD collection. The home is best suited for guests seeking quiet & a respite from the bustle of modern life! Guest AccessGuests are welcome to enjoy morning coffee & snacks in the dining room, however we do not serve meals or offer access to the kitchen. We provide coffee, tea, cocoa, & snacks. There is a microwave & a tiny fridge to store small food items. Guests may also relax, read, or play games in the parlor & are welcome to sit in the lovely yard along Turkey Creek in the warmer seasons. We ask that the rest of the home & property remain private. Guests should plan to lock skis, bikes, or other sports equipment on or inside their vehicles. Interaction with GuestsWe are available whenever we have guests, either on property or by phone. The NeighborhoodRed Cliff is a town of less than 300 residents, most of whom work in the Vail Valley. It was the first incorporated town in Eagle County in 1879 & has a rich history as the first county seat & hub of Eagle County life into the 1970's. It is a humble & quaint town, consisting of mostly small, older homes, situated in the center of an incredible mountain scene & only 20 minutes to Vail. We are located next door to a small convenience & liquor store & across the street from a bar that serves lunch & dinner. The nearest gas station is in Minturn, 9 miles north, & there are several dining options there for all meals. Vail is just 16 miles north, a 20 minute drive, & it offers endless shopping, dining, & a myriad of services. Leadville is 18 miles south. Getting AroundRed Cliff bus service is quite limited, running once per day to & from Vail. *Guests should plan to bring their own vehicle. Roads are snowy in winter, so adequate snow tires are required, & front wheel drive is preferable. Other Things to Note1. We have a 4 night minimum stay between (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Guests may park one vehicle in the driveway. 3. There is a tiny, young non-shedding dog (terrier mix) in the house who barks when meeting ppl but settles down quickly.

The SpaceThis cabin was originally built in the 1930's by a logger who built & lived in it. Sometime in the 60's Alan Albert bought it and rented it out to tenants. There is a make-do kitchen to prepare meals and a small dining area. The couch in the living area is actually a twin day bed that can turn into a bed at night and fit one adult or two small children at either end (with their feet facing in towards each other - is tight but it has been done before ! ) There is a wood fire place inside with plenty of wood to burn. There is also a huge bonfire pit outside! Both hearths are available to use at your own risk. Guest AccessYou will have the entire property to yourselves. Their are 3 neighbors sharing the mountain to the north and east of the property. Interaction with GuestsI will be available to offer help via email / airbnb app. There is no cell service in Red Cliff, and I will be out of town while guests stay. The NeighborhoodRed Cliff is a less than 300 person town with two rivers raging through and meeting in the center of town. There is anything and everything to do outdoors in Red Cliff and the surrounding areas. The only and best restaurant in town is Mango's Mountain Grill that serves killer Fish Taco Tuesday's, Wing Night Wednesday's & offers live guitar Friday evenings that can be seen and heard from the Cabin ! :) Getting AroundThere is a bus that runs from Leadville to Vail and beyond. You can search the online schedule by looking up "Eco Transit Vail Valley " You may park in the garage at your own risk! The first thing we will be fixing is this parking garage as soon as we raise (by renting on Airbnb ! :) the $$$$$$ . If you park very close to the falling retaining wall you may park on property as well. If you have more than two cars we ask that you park in Mango's parking lot "downtown" - a 5 minute walk. Other Things to NoteBe gentle to our historic, kind cabin & the wildlife and mountains surrounding please. Be gentle to yourself too :)

The SpaceLike having your own private Colorado 10th mountain hut, but with better skiing and hiking and climbing opportunities right out the door. The cabin is a simple design made for enjoying the nature. One double bed with two sleeping bags for guest use, a couple thermarests and foam pads and tent for additional guests as needed, indoor fireplace, outdoor living space, NRS toilet. Depending on your group size we can approve larger groups camping. Please provide accurate group size in booking request. Guest AccessArea ~30 feet in all directions of cabin open for access. Be careful of rocks, trees, and other hazards-- all use is at your own risk by making a reservation. Interaction with GuestsUp many weekends near the cabin, but not guaranteed. With advanced notice I possibly can stay in my place next to the cabin if that would make your stay more comfortable. Let me know if you have any special requests; gourmet meals may be possible. The NeighborhoodWe're the only ones:) But tons of cool history in the town. Getting AroundPublic transit to Minturn possible, then in via Cross Creek trail and over Fancy Pass. Otherwise mountain worthy car is a good idea. Other Things to NotePlease note access-- generally best to walk up road 759 from the 727/759 intersection, or walk up to Fancy Lake and into Holy Cross city that way, or via Cross Creek or Missouri lakes trails works as well. Specially built jeep needed for road access via 759 road if that is your preferred transport type. Please refer to a SkyTerrain Vail area map, USGS Holy Cross Wilderness or Reudi Reservoir or similar map and plan your adventure accordingly. Gps coordinates provided at booking. In winter plan on the road being unplowed about 1/2 mile off 24, so plan on 7 miles flat and 3.5 miles up over snow by snowmobile, snowshoes, touring skis, fat bikes then.
