The SpaceDiscount for medical students! Beautiful home, 2 blocks from Redlands Community Hospital. Perfect for visiting guests/medical students from out of state. Owner has one dog. (Other pets not allowed.) This is a bedroom inside the main home. The owner lives in the Master Bedroom, and selectively rents out the two other bedrooms, as well as the detached Casita, through Airbnb. Calendar is up-to-date. There might be some flexibility of 1-2 days at the beginning or end of blocked-out sections, but large sections of unavailable days are in fact already booked. Private, Spanish-style home with a partial view of the city and mountains. During the day the large windows in the main living area provide a beautiful view of the foliage outside, along with lots of natural lighting. In the spring, the jasmine is in full bloom and provides a wonderful aroma every time you walk by the front door, pool area, or leave your bedroom window cracked open. The home has a front porch seating area that is surrounded by decorative wrought iron gates. It is fun and relaxing to eat breakfast there and listen to the birds. You might even see one of the birds chasing a squirrel or two! The pool and jacuzzi have seating and tables surrounding them, with umbrellas available for shade. It is a favorite place to sit down after work and feel the gentle breeze as the sun gets lower in the sky and twilight starts to set in. The backyard also has lemon, orange, and kumquat trees available for use. Guest AccessParking is available in the main driveway, or on the street. First come first serve among guests. Laundry facilities are in the detached garage, about 10 steps from the main house. There is a large pantry and refrigerator that are sectioned off for each guest to have their own space. Guests are welcome to the provided coffee and tea that are always available. Interaction with GuestsGuests will be left mostly to themselves since the host has a busy schedule. If you are new to the area she is absolutely available to answer questions! Sara is home in the evenings a few nights a week, and on the weekends for most of the day. On weekends, she usually has a friend over and is busy around the house doing various chores and often playing music. After work, or on weekends, she will come home late at night or in the early morning hours. Up to 6 other people on the property (main house and casita). All guests are expected to be respectful of others and not make excessive noise. Some people have night schedules, and so some noise and a door chime during the night can be expected. Sara will sometimes ask if any guests will be home when she goes out of town every month, so she can get help letting her dog outside to potty a couple times on the day she is gone. If no one is available she will make alternate arrangements. The NeighborhoodPrestigious Smiley Heights is a popular place for dog walkers, joggers, and cyclists. Small to steep hills are just a block or two away, along with the beautiful views of the city. Downtown is about 8 minutes away, and has a lot of small businesses for eating and shopping. There are MANY wonderful places to eat and things to do downtown. Farmer's market every Thursday evening, and fresh produce every Saturday morning. Getting AroundA personal vehicle is recommended. Other Things to NoteVerizon HD cable TV, Blu-ray player, Apple TV, and 75/75 high-speed FiOS Wi-Fi. This room may get a little warmer in the summer, even though the AC is kept on, so a fan is provided. Just a few areas that are reserved for the owner... The office has lots of the owner's personal stuff in it (not for guest use) with some boxes on the floor, and also some personal items here and there around the house (not messy, by any means). Some of the cabinets on the outskirts of the kitchen are reserved for the owner as well. Outside the front door, the patio now has a dog house (not pictured yet). Dog leaves an occasional mess outside, but the owner is quick to clean it up.

The Spacewe have high speed wifi in the house, but when you need to get out you can grab a burrito around the corner and excellent coffee, grocery, and restaurants are only a short walk away. the last original orange packing plant is right beyond the backyard so i tend to describe the space as equal parts urban, rural and industrial. it can be quite peaceful, but at times we get typical downtown noise, so light sleepers be forewarned. i work for a software company here in town and have several roommates. we usually cook together and are all extremely easy going and respectful. the restoration is a work in progress and the dogs sometimes track in a lot of dirt. the guest bedroom is upstairs and is kept spic and span. it is equipped w/ AC and heat, wood flooring, a queen size bed, desk and fishing pole lamp. POC and LGBTQ friendly. Guest Accessbicycle available to borrow. bathroom is shared. guests have full kitchen privileges, including use of washer dryer. Interaction with Guestsyou're welcome to join us for drinks on the front porch or dinner in the dining room, but if you prefer privacy, that's fine too. Getting AroundI find bicycling around redlands ideal, but most people drive. Other Things to Notenot equipped to host guests for more than a few weeks at a time.

The SpaceSpacious, independent studio with modern furniture. Create the desired ambience by adjusting the dimmable, recessed lighting. Sit back and enjoy your favorite show on the giant 70 inch TV w/ Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Located just 3 blocks from downtown Redlands' coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Please be sure to view all the photos and read the captions, and please also read all sections in this description. That will give you a very good idea of what this studio space is like... It is located just two blocks from downtown Redlands, so you can easily walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bars and farmers' markets, and even to a movie theater and the occasional live music performance. Guest Access- In addition to the studio unit itself, there is a separate laundry room on the property with a washer and dryer that guests are welcome to use. - Please park your car on the street and not in the driveway. Street parking is free and always available. You can leave your car parked on the street for as long as you need, as long as its not in the same spot for more than 3 days. Interaction with GuestsWe live on the other half of the same property, so we are are usually available if our guests need help with anything. We know many good places to eat and drink within walking distance of the property, as well as elsewhere in Redlands and Southern California, and are happy to offer suggestions. The NeighborhoodThis is one of the older, charming neighborhoods in Redlands, and the street has single family homes and duplexes. The home is walking distance (i.e. less than half a mile) to: - Several good restaurants and bars, and excellent locally owned/artisanal coffee shops. - Grocery stores, Farmers markets (Thu evenings and Sat mornings) - Redlands Public Library - Redlands Bowl, with its live summer concert series which is free and open to the public - You can run/bike up a slight hill to beautiful Prospect Park (~1.25 miles away), or a little further to Caroline Park. Getting Around- Unless you are just walking up to downtown, the easiest way to get around is by your own car or Uber/Lyft. - Local bus schedules can be found on the Omnitrans website. It can be useful for getting around Redlands or to nearby towns such as Loma Linda. - Metrolink train service towards Los Angeles and Orange County is available from the San Bernardino station, which is about 10 miles away. - Within an hour's drive from Redlands are Big Bear Lake (up in the mountains), Joshua Tree National Park (out East in the desert) and beaches (out West towards Los Angeles and Orange County). Other Things to Note- This listing is for a studio that has its own independent entry through the front door of the house, and also its own full bathroom and kitchen... so guests will have their own fully private space. However, it is not a completely standalone studio because there is a door leading to a rear bedroom, which will remain locked from both sides during guests' stay. You can think of this studio as a large hotel room/suite that has a door to an adjoining room which is locked. This studio is part of a duplex house located on a street that does not have any apartment complexes - all the properties are single family homes or duplexes. - We have a dog named Bruce, a Great Pyrenees, 1 year old (as of December 2015). He stays in the backyard - guests do not have access to the backyard unless discussed in advance. Bruce can sometimes be friendly with strangers but nevertheless, for your safety, do not approach him when we are not present. Bruce is trained not to bark at night and sleeps quietly, but if you are an extremely light sleeper that even an isolated bark would wake you up, then you might want to consider that before booking - although noise from the backyard won't be loudly audible in this studio space anyway. If you would like to meet Bruce, please let us know and we will be happy to facilitate that : ) For those of you that suffer from pet allergies: Bruce almost never spends any time in the studio, so your risk of exposure will probably be very minimal. - PET POLICY: Dogs considered on a case-by-case basis. If you have a house trained dog who is well behaved and does not chew furniture, etc. and you would like to bring him with you, we may be able to accommodate that - but please be sure to discuss BEFORE booking. We are not able to accommodate cats. - Older children and infants are welcome. While we are open to consideration, this listing is probably not the most suitable one for small children, as they may inadvertently leave stains on cushions, etc, but they are welcome at my other listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3820665. - Guests without verified ID on Airbnb are respectfully required to provide photo Id (driver license/passport) at the time of check-in. - TV has Netflix, etc, but no Cable connection.

The SpaceSmall one-bedroom home, well suited for short as well as long stays. Just two blocks from downtown Redlands, so you can easily walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bars and farmers' markets, and even to a movie theater and the occasional live music performance. If you wish to cook some of your meals during your stay, the unit has a full kitchen equipped with stove, microwave, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, George Foreman grill, and basics such as pots and pans, silverware, etc. The living room and bedroom are fully furnished.. please view the photos to get a better idea of what the unit feels like. It is very comfortable and livable. Wall mounted 32" TV with over one hundred channels including several movie channels. Note: If you are a party of 3.. the bedroom sleeps 2 people (on a comfortable Queen sized bed). The living room can sleep a third person on a twin sized sofa-bed. However, the only access to the bathroom is through the bedroom, and some people might find that slightly inconvenient.. so please consider that if you make a reservation for 3, especially for longer stays. This one-bedroom space is one-half of a duplex property - the house you see in the picture is divided into two independent parts, each with its own kitchen, bathroom and independent entry. Guest Access- In addition to the unit itself, there is a laundry room on the property with a washer and dryer that guests are welcome to use. - Free street parking is available - there are usually plenty of spaces available and there are no time limits, so you can leave your vehicle parked for your entire stay if you need to. Interaction with GuestsWe live on the other half of the same property, so we are are usually available if our guests need help with anything. We know many good places to eat and drink within walking distance of the property, as well as elsewhere in Redlands and Southern California, and are happy to offer suggestions. He is usually friendly with strangers but nevertheless please do not approach him when we are not present. This listing is for one half of the house, which has the floor plan of a one bedroom apartment - it does share a wall with the other half which is where we live. So, you will not be renting the entire property, but you will still have your own independent home (including independent entry). The street does not have any apartment complexes - they are all single family homes or duplexes.

The SpaceI am a local artist living around the world at airbnb locations. My 2 bedroom 2 bath home in Redlands, California is set up with a master bedroom/bath with a queen bed plus a den/office/second bedroom with custom extra comfortable LazyBoy double sofabed and desk/Internet. There is a second desk/office in the living room. The home is fully furnished and in the perfect central Redlands location on a quiet street-- walking distance to the University and downtown, convenient to the freeways, very close to both Redlands Community, Kaiser Permanente and Loma Linda University hospitals, and a block from ESRI, etc. This will be perfect for one or two people who are visiting friends or relatives, traveling or working as a travel nurse/doctor, professor, ESRI, in town for special events or treatments, or looking for a more permanent home to buy in the area... and my home is available primarily longer term where I prefer minimum one month and really prefer to rent the whole summer, when I typically airbnb it to Europe. Next windows available are October 15 to end of March 2017. NOTE: There are two additional "tiny house" studios 144 sq ft each to be available October 15 on for $695 each per month, fully furnished, all bills paid, with a separate private entrances to the back. I will start advertising them end of the summer when they are ready. Guest AccessThe home is a duplex, next to a very quiet apartment complex and the other half neighbor is quiet as well. Currently Brent and his wife Alex are managing the property and will deliver you the keys, and get you services you need, etc. The location is really great and easy to find and there is a nice enclosed backyard. NO PETS, though, due to allergies that would prevent some guests from staying. Guests will have use of the whole house, fully furnished including initial supplies such as toilet paper, detergent, drinks, spices, printer paper, etc. The only off limits things are pay per view movies, unless you have your own Netflix or other SmartTV compatible account to sign into. Also off limits is my storage space in the former one car garage (now just big enough for a motorcycle and is used as the laundry room besides my storage). I live and work around the world and would not be there while you are renting. I will provide Brent and Alex's information and they will be your de facto hosts instead. I handle all the bookings, etc. however. I am doing my best to make this home comfortable and hope my guests treat it with care as their own. I am an artist of very modest means, in spite of my unusual mobile lifestyle, so appreciate your respect and pride in keeping my home clean and neat as well as furnishings where you found them. Electricity to $150 per month maximum is included, but guests will be charged for overages beyond that. Interaction with GuestsI will be available by messaging, when out of town, but the property managers will be available and nearby at all times. The NeighborhoodWhat I love about Redlands is its beautiful historic homes and landmarks, the fierce pride the residents take in their town, the local art association with fun classes, a great movie theater in the Krikorian and the fairly easy access to the mountains, beach, and desert cities plus Los Angeles metro area alll within an hour or two. I especially love the local restaurants and Mozart's, the best gift shop ever. Getting AroundParking is in the driveway and on the street. There is still a one car garage but it is the laundry room shared space with my locked storage, with a washer/dryer. There is bus service and easy walking to downtown as well. To get from Ontario Airport, you take the 10 East to the Tennessee exit. More detailed instructions will be provided once you book. Other Things to NotePlease note trash days are on Thursdays and trash cans are kept in the driveway in the fence indentation.

The SpaceKnown as the "Cozy Nest" this detached studio adds the new with the old, just like a bird building a nest, to make perfect accommodations for one or two persons. Charming decor with wonderful wall art and a ceiling fan. The Studio is probably the size of a normal hotel room. We have a very comfortable queen sized bed, fine linens, a loveseat couch with ottoman, compact refrigerator, television with limited channels, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster. The newer bathroom has a walk-in shower, single sink, and toilet. The floors are all painted concrete, but covered mostly with carpet. The room does have a wall A/C and heating unit that cools and warms the room evenly. Guests have their own fenced in yard at the back of the property, where you can sit in your own private area and enjoy the views of the SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS AND PALM TREES, or chose to take a swim in our beautiful backyard pool! Guest AccessOn Street parking, but charming studio is located by walking up the driveway and into the backyard. Detached studio, is located in your own private part of the property, passed the beautiful swimming pool and landscaped backyard. Studio is accessed through its own door. Interaction with GuestsAs this is my husband's hometown we are able to provide help with directions, restaurant suggestions, or local activities. We have a Welcome Booklet in the studio that provides information about WHAT TO DO in the area and restaurant menu's. The NeighborhoodOur home is located in a desirable South Redlands area. We are located near Prospect Park and Kimberly Crest Mansion. It is wonderful to stroll through the neighborhood admiring all the vintage homes that makes Redlands so wonderful! Close proximity to downtown Redlands, ESRI, and University of Redlands. Getting AroundIt is easy to travel around Redlands via automobile or bicycle. Our home is located between Palm Springs and Los Angeles. Other Things to NoteWe do have three wonderful dogs that live in the mainhouse. When we have people staying in our guest room we make every effort to keep them inside and away from our guests. They are extremely friendly.

The SpaceI am offering what was my home for the last 34 years for short term rentals. Guest AccessI am currently offering for your exclusive possession the lower floor of the house only, which is approximately 1800 square feet (not including porches) consisting of a fully furnished living room, formal dining room, kitchen with all appliances, including a dishwasher, service porch with washer and dryer, library or study with desk and a single bed with armoire, two large bedrooms with large walk in closets and sinks (unusual for the period) and two bathrooms, one with a large tile tub en suite to the master bedroom, the main bath with shower. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and the second a conformable queen. The library has a comfortable single bed and free standing armoire. The front of the house has a wrap around porch and there is an additional deck at the rear of the house with a built in jacuzzi. The second floor is closed off, although I may, upon notice to you, access it during your stay from a separate rear door. The back yard is fully fenced with a remote controlled electric gate leading to a rear carport and shed which I may also, upon notice to you, access during your stay. Interaction with GuestsI currently live only seven houses up the street and will personally greet guests and do everything in my power to make them comfortable. The NeighborhoodThe House is known locally as the Baughman (pronounced "Boffman") residence, and was built in 1910 by Redlands pioneers Charles and Emily Baughman on the then newly created Alvarado Street (named after the first Governor of California under Spanish rule), in the center of what was then an orange grove. Other homes soon followed, and the 500 block of Alvarado Street now consists entirely of well maintained and restored houses from the arts and crafts period. It is located on one of the two most desirable streets on the Redlands south side historic district - Alvarado and its neighboring street Buena Vista. The house was the home of three past mayors of Redlands, an early Treasurer Tax Collector for the County, and was the childhood home of an internationally known political author, journalist and correspondent, frequently featured on NPR. The house has been awarded the Redlands Heritage Award by the Redlands Historical Society - given to those houses of significant historical significance and restored and maintained as close to their original appearance as possible. It was recently featured on the pilot for a home improvement channel series on the restoration of older homes. The neighborhood is quite safe and the house is extremely quiet. Getting AroundThe ESRI campus is about 6 blocks away and easily reached by bicycle. Loma Linda University Medical Center is about a 10 minute drive, as is the University of Redlands - we are right in between the two. Oak Glen and Forrest Falls are each about 20 minutes away. The house is 12 miles by car from the San Bernardino Metrolink station and 25 minutes from Ontario Airport. It is half an hour by car to Lake Arrowhead and 50 minutes to Big Bear Lake. It is a 1 hour non-rush hour drive to downtown Los Angeles and 1 ½ hour Metrolink train trip from the San Bernardino Station to Union Station in Los Angeles, where trains and subways are available to all parts of Los Angeles, including Universal Studios, Hollywood Boulevard, and the beach in Santa Monica, as well as a flyaway bus to LAX. It is about an hour plus non-rush hour drive to Disneyland and to Newport Beach, and a 2 hour drive to San Diego. It is a 40 minute very easy drive to downtown Palm Springs, and we frequently commute there for dinner.
