Here is just a small sampling of those comments. "It is now 3 months later and I still think of this house every day. Apologies for the delay but I am now back on my travels again with some time on my hands. This is the most amazing house I have stayed in. Particularly loved the different levels then all the party could come together for meals etc on the main balcony. Very well equipped kitchen and great barbeque. Eveything worked a treat WI-FI etc. We were having a family reunion with my brother who we had not been with for 20 years. Next time I want to stay a least a week great activities in the area. Thank you for the wonderful stay and all the personal touches. No expense spared here in making it a beautiful home. " Geraldine "A friend and I stayed at Wanggulay for 6 days. The setting is spectacular and the view from the back deck over the fast flowing stream is stunning. Privacy is assured as the house is nestled right into World Heritage rainforest. The atmosphere of this rainforest 'treehouse' was indeed unique with beautiful blue butterflies flying past all day and colourful parrots and white cockatoos calling in the trees adjacent. The beauty of the natural environment was complemented by high standard furnishings and modern appliances and a luxurious contemporary living design in a house which could accommodate several family groups comfortably. The pool area is secluded and yet easily accessible to the home interior. This house and its environment are a unique experience of tropical elegance and charm. It is definitely five star accommodation that is one with nature!" Ross "Wangulay was the perfect break. The perfectly designed home in the treetops provided the ultimate escape for our romantic sojourn. Can't wait to go back." Tim and Angie ""Paradise in the Treetops" Thank you Wanggulay for a memorable stay. Who needs to travel to Bali when it is right here. The house is romantic, soft lights, calming aromas, waking up every day looking at natures magic. We could not have asked for more. Our honeymoon ended too quickly in paradise!" Mark and Donna "Well after spending 14 nights in this beautiful house I have to agree with all the comments of the previous guests. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail, the welcoming aroma of burning oil on arrival, the beautiful linen and the fresh flower arrangement and large fruit bowl. Thank you for a great stay!" Mary "It was wet, wet, wet, but what a wonderful experience. Baron River Gorge, Cape Tribulation, walks along pristine beaches. The sun may have refused to show its face but the warmth and ambience of Wanggulay more than compensated. Evenings were spent cooking and bbqing and sitting on the wonderful verandah reminiscing of past times. This was a reunion of two old school friends which will never be forgotten. Many thanks for the use of Wanggulay!" Sue Tony "So sad to leave.... When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Karen, immaculately presented along with the house. Wanggulay speaks for itself 5 days of rain was perfect for our rainforest retreat, stocked up on wine, good food, we had a fabulous time. We will be back!!" Brooke Suzanne Jan Myra "Thanks for a relaxing time in this tree top house - loved the Balinese day bed on the verandah. Have been inspired house design- we just have to find a rainforest in Canberra to build it in...Thanks Again hope to return sometime!" Stef Kathie Max Georgia "As a group of 6 we all had a wonderful time in this amazing house. The surrounds and serenity were most beautiful and relaxing. We would certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone and would love to experience Wanggulay again in the near future!" Jenny "A most enjoyable, relaxing, and fantastic experience. Beautiful setting tranquility exuding and spiritually uplifting feeling. Would love to come back again!" Sam and Ema

Interaction with GuestsIf you want us to stay out of your hair we can and if you wish to join us for breakfast, lunch or dinner you can. Your our priority. ($10 extra per meal). The NeighborhoodOur house is in a rural setting with views of mountains in every direction. We don't have any close neighbours and we are the last house in a new street. It’s a very quiet setting. Expect to see Birds nesting, Butterflies, Lizards and Kangaroos. That said we are just a few minutes drive or walk to the shopping centre or local pub and just 20mins to Cairns CBD. If you would like us to show you around just ask. We know where the fish are, lookouts, rainforest, bushwalks etc. As a keen fisherman I can help you find Barramundi and crabs. I have fishing rods and crab pots available for you to use. Crystal Cascades is 5mins drive. Its a beautiful spot. Getting AroundThe 121 bus runs regularly to and from Cairns city and arrives at the Redlynch shopping centre just 4 mins walk away. Its a very safe area in a very quiet street. Flat easy walk to the shopping centre. If your using this house as a base to see the area it is right in the middle of everything. Whether you have a hire car or are using public transport it is easy to get to all the attractions. Also 5 mins drive from the house is one of the most popular train stations for the historic Kuranda Train. Kuranda is well worth a visit and you can either drive, take the train or do the Skyrail. The Skyrail is a gondola trip over the rainforest that takes you from the bottom of the range to the top where you can check out all the great things to see in Kuranda. Of course there are all of the tours going out to reef and up to the Daintree which are also on offer in town. You can easily book these tours or go for a drive yourself up to the Daintree and see all the attractions on the way up. It is a lovely drive and you can always stop in at Port Douglas on your way up or back. Other Things to NoteWe live upstairs with x3 kids aged 5, 11 and 12, a black Labrador dog (outside dog) and goldfish. We speak Australian English and Papua New Guinea Pidgin English. Kids can also speak a little Japanese. We regularly have international student visitors and love spending time with travellers and can show you around and take you around to some interesting places if you want us too. We also have a dog. He is very friendly and is our security.
