Our home is located just 4km from Perth's unspoilt northern beaches. Take a leisurely stroll down to Quinns Beach, a lifeguard patrolled stretch of white sand and turquoise waters. Grab coffee and cake at Salty's Cafe or enjoy a romantic sunset dining at Portofino's Restaurant. If diving, snorkelling or surfing is more your scene, then there are plenty of reefs and waves to explore. Check (URL HIDDEN) for recommendations and surf conditions. If you'd prefer bush over beaches, head north to Yanchep National park where you can enjoy bushwalking, mountain biking or explore Yanchep Caves.
Fancy a scenic chartered boat cruise? A boutique beers on the boardwalk? Souvenir shopping? Dolphin spotting? Then take the short 5km drive to Mindarie Keys Marina where you can soak up the spectacular West Coast sunshine and grab a coffee. By night you can enjoy live bands, dancing and cocktails.
If the local independent supermarket doesn't have what you need, then all of your essentials (and plenty of non-essentials!) can be found at Ocean Keys Centre in Clarkson. Just a short bus ride or 4km drive away from our properties, you will find Coles, Woolworths, Kmart and many specialty stores to meet all your holiday needs. You will also find a variety of delicious eateries and the Whale and Ale Tavern where you can watch the footy or sing along with Karaoke.
Located just 10km from West Coast Accommodations, Joondalup is easily accessable by car or a 5 minute train ride. Lakeside Shopping Centre Joondalup is the biggest shopping destinations in the state. With all the usual suspects of Coles, Woolworths, Sister IGA, Kmart, Big W, Target and Myer, as well as a vast number of fashion boutiques and specialty stores, it is truly one stop shopping. The Timezone games arcade and Grand Cinemas Multiplex round out this Shopper's heaven. Outside Lakeside complex, you will find top rated bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants throughout the city centre. Ultimately, Joondalup is the perfect place for date night, relaxing with friends or entertaining little ones.
No trip to Perth's northern beaches is complete without checking out Sorrento Quay, Hillarys Boat Harbour. By day you can shop for gift and souvenirs along the boardwalk, share fish and chips with the seagulls or wade in the calm, protected harbour whilst enjoying gourmet ice-cream. The kids will have a ball at The Great Escape Park with its waterslides, trampolines and obstacle courses. In summer months you will even find a fun fair with scary rides for the big kids. Just next door is AQWA, the Aquarium of Western Australia where you can ride a conveyor belt though an underwater tunnel beneath Great White Sharks and Manta Rays and feel starfish in the touch pool. As the light fades, grab a gourmet meal, a drink or two and enjoy the spectacular colours of WA's famous sunsets. Hillarys Boat Harbour is also the starting point of many adventures including ferry rides to Rottnest Island, Harley Davidson Tours and fishing or whale-watching charters.
Perth City and Northbridge:
If all the local excitement is not enough for you, head to the bright lights of Perth City and the Northbridge Cultural Centre. A short 20 minute ride on Perth's clean and convenient trains will get you right into the centre of the action. Shop to your heart's content in Hay and Murray Streets exploring the unique malls including London Court with its famous tudor facades. Not only will you find every high street store imaginable, head over to King Street and you can max out your credit card in boutiques like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Stroll down to the foreshore at Barrack Street Jetty and see the Swan Tower, home of St Martin-in-the-fields bells and take a wine cruise along the stunning Swan River. Cross over Wellington Street to Northbridge and you will be in the cultural heart of the city. Here you will find The Art Gallery of WA, The Museum of WA, PICA, The Heath Ledger Theatre, and much, much more. You never know which festival or market you might stumble across or what weird and wonderful thing you may find the eclectic stores. By night, Northbridge comes alive with seemingly endless pubs, clubs, small bars and restaurants to keep you up to the early hours. The best thing is that when you're done simply hop on the free late night train home or grab a delicious breakfast at The Moon Cafe and watch the sunrise over the city. Getting AroundThere are bus services nearby feeding into the fast efficient train service. However, if possible, a car is always preferred to get around Perth.
