Vleidam farm has plenty of activity with its picturesque mountain or “koppies', ideal for hiking or 4x4 trailing, which takes you to phenomenal lookout points. Guest AccessVleidam Guesthouse is a self-catering guesthouse that has two separate units, each unit with its own entrance. Each unit sleeps five people, thus the guesthouse can take up to ten people at once. Each unit has two bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a fireplace inside of the kitchen, two bathrooms, a "stoep", a lawn and a swimming pool. In each unit the main room has a double bed with an en-suite bathroom, and the second room in each unit has three single beds. There are braai-facilities inside and outside the guesthouse for both units. If you need accomodation for up to ten people at once, you can book both units if there is availability. Interaction with GuestsThe owners of the farm and guesthouse, John and Nikki Loxton, does interact with the guests on the farm. Nikki bakes farm bread for the guests and John tells the guests about the history of the farm and the district. They also take the guests to the animals with their "plaas bakkie". Other Things to NoteYou may also want to explore the nearby towns of Moorreesburg, Riebeek-Kasteel or Misverstand dam where you can swim, ski, canoe or boat. These touristy towns have plenty of fabulous restaurants, farm-stalls as well as wine farms for you to enjoy, all less than 10 minutes away! Otherwise, enjoy an evening in around the “braai pit" on your personal front lawn where kids can play while watching the sunset over the farming meadows.
