The double bed is located in it's open own 'box' on a mezzanine floor. This is our personal space not a hotel which we will share in the finest traditions of AirBnB. Our place has amble parking for the biggest vehicles with an external power supply to connect if you should need it.     Riverton Bed and Breakfast, New Zealand. The newest B&B; in town. Wonderful location, with views from the Pacific Ocean to the snow clad mountains of Fiordland. Well appointed, two rooms with ensuite bathrooms (RiverView Room is US$100 per night including breakfast,same rate all year. Our Seaview suite is US $111 per night all year, including breakfast and a SUPER KING BED), warm cozy beds, TV, Tea and Coffee making, FREE BOTTLE OF NEW ZEALAND WINE in the Refrigerator, lots of yummy nibbles, and BREAKFASTS to live for, whilst watching the Tui and Bell birds dining at the window. We have been hosting guests for 23 years, have travelled extensively, and love learning and chatting with guests. We have sound knowledge of our Country and enjoy helping guests with their travels. Riverton is a small fishing village, the 2nd oldest town in our Country. It is well situated, close to Stewart Island, TeAnau, Manapouri, Queenstown, The Catlins, or just stay in the area, which abounds with wonderful bush and beach walks, tramps, fishing, golfing, (clubs available) eating, or just sit back and relax listening to the birds and watching the tides change. A visit to our wonderful museum is a must, "Te Hikoi, the Southern Journey" is an award winning special place to visit. Many previous reviews are on Trip Advisor. Our recent award was CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE from Trip Advisor Our rates are for one room. I.E. EITHER Seaview suite or Riverview room per night, they both sleep up to two people. Free bottle of NZ wine on your arrival. Sometimes we do run specials, for longer stays you can request on booking. We do provide dinners with 24 hour notice at NZ$ 50 per person. Free Golf clubs etc are available (RH only) . There are only two rooms Riverview room US$ 119 Seaview Suite US 120 PER NIGHT PER COUPLE which includes a fabulous breakfast menu. High on the hill overlooking the confluence of the Aparima and Purakino rivers. We have amazing views of the tidal changes of the rivers before they set out to the Pacific ocean. The river reflections are truly amazing, as are the sunrises and sunsets. We really are so lucky, to have such natural beauty, and surrounded by lots of open spaces. and sheep grazing outside your room. We have many beautiful walks near-by with lots of native birds to sing to you and keep you company, as we do not have hoards of people to contend with, just nature at it's best, you can go fishing, walking, golfing, surfing, go to an old gold mine, and many other adventures. We are within a couple of hours from Queenstown, TeAnau, Manapouri and Doubtful and Milford Sounds. Most of all, your most welcome here at "our place"

Toilet & shower are accessed via the deck. A great Hut near the coast, private and peaceful, nice but casual & a little bit special. Kitchen basics.         Sea side and mountain views "The Cliffs" Accommodation on the Papatotara Coast (Tuatapere, Western Southland) is located in the peaceful country area surrounded by sea, mountains and native forest, on the edge of the Fiorland National Park. "The Cliffs" accommodation is the perfect place to start your Hump Ridge Track or to relax after your exciting walks through virgin NZ bushes before going home. We are prox 5-6 km from the Track, the closest what you can find. Locating only in walking distance to the beach, you have the plenty of opportunities for your active holiday and discover old Chinese cave or bike on "The Cliffs" private and safe subdivision road enjoying the green pastures of the farm and blue colours of the sea. If you are interested in farming experience, you are more than welcome to join our milking crew in the morning at 6 am or may be you prefer to feed two gorgeous calves on your door step, it is ok as well.         The SpaceThe spacious cabin has a double bed, TV, fridge, separate shower and toilet room, heater and tea and coffee making facilities. There is no cooking facilities in the room. Continental breakfast will be provided for each quest (including 2 types of cereal, toast, yoghurt and home made jam and preserved fruit). Guests are welcome to use our personal clothes washing facilities for a fee($4). We can accommodate up to one extra person at $20 per night but sleeping arrangement would be camping style. i.e air bed or cot. Wifi is only available at main house. In season produce is available for purchase e.g. Summer - tomatoes, salad greens, herbs, potatoes and eggs. Winter - kale, cabbage etc. Guest AccessFeel free to participate in daily farm life if you wish and if it is practical. As it is a working farm due care will be expected by quests. A farm tour can also be arranged if time permits or take an hour long walk through the farm at your convenience. Interaction with GuestsAn evening meal ($30 pp) (2 courses) and packed lunch ($15 pp) can be organised by prior arrangement with us. We will endeavour to help with local travel and advice. If you want to have a fantastic day trip, we recommend the Wairaurahiri Jet operated by Johan and Joyce, a fabulous day trip across Lake Hauroko and down the Wairaurahiri River. Tuatapere (southern scenic route) is 20 mins drive away and Otautau is 20 mins as well Other Things to NoteWe have 4 working farm dogs which are housed when not working but they can be heard barking during the night at times due to their proximity to the cabin.           The SpaceA bunkroom modelled after classic deer cullers huts that are so iconic in NZs back Country. Your own bathroom in a separate building a few meters away adds to the authenticity of the experience. The room is inside an art gallery run by your hosts and provides a very inspirational and quiet space. The bunkroom is run like the backcountry hut it is modelled after so YOU NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN SLEEPING BAG/ BEDDING. There is no kitchen or cooking facilities just plenty of local eating places nearby. Just imagine you are in a hut in the wilderness but that you have a hot shower and flush toilet and you will know what you are getting. Guest AccessAccess is to the bunkroom and bathroom and the gallery space. As there are no kitchen/cooking facilities you are requested to eat out in one of the many good food outlets available within a minutes walk. (this also helps support the small community). The working studio and hosts living areas are not available to guests. Interaction with GuestsWe are very happy to help you discover and enjoy our town and surrounds and will assist you in any way we can. There is always someone around to answer your questions and help in any way we can. We do run an Art business and request check-in be after 4.30pm and check-out before 10.00am for your own privacy. The NeighborhoodTuatapere is a small self reliant town with beautiful walkways, rivers, coast and mountains all around. You can walk from one end to the other in 5 minutes and yet still be discovering hidden treasures 5 years later. We have many great food outlets, a supermarket, doctor, school, 24hr fuel and full mechanical service workshops. Live music is often playing at one of the pubs/cafes. Tuatapere is the gateway to Fiordland National Park southern region and the famous Hump Ridge Track which is owned by the people of Tuatapere. There are many adventures to be had outdoors-please ask Greg about where and how. Getting AroundTuatapere is on the Southern Scenic Highway a very popular route with backpackers and campervans. We are only an hour away from Invercargill or Te Anau. The world famous Milford sound is an easy day trip and Queenstown is only 2 hrs away. There is no public transport.             The SpaceWaterview is a 2 storey house that is nearly 100 years old. It offers something a little different due to it's unique character and 'Old English' feel. Guests have said staying here brings back childhood memories! You will have a private double room with a queen sized bed. The price is $85 NZD for a double room. Children over 3 years or extra guests will be accommodated in a separate room with a basic charge of $40 NZD. airbed or trundle-bed is available for toddler sleeping in parents room. Guest AccessGuests have a private bathroom and toilet. There is access to gardens. Meals are taken in the dining kitchen or out on the patio in good weather. Interaction with GuestsWe love to share breakfast with our guests so that we can have a chat and get to know each other. Otherwise we are home if you need anything. On a nice day the town is bursting with activity. Beautiful beaches, walking and scenic drives or cycling and boating, surfing and bird watching. Getting AroundThe nearest big town/city is Invercargill half hour drive away but Riverton has all you need for a stay. Other Things to NoteThere are a couple of fishing rods in the hall space. Feel free to use them. The shed is full of fire wood, the burner is easy to light and will heat the house in no time. The lawn is large and flat. we have accommodated up to 4 large tents easily.

Getting AroundRiverton is along the Southern Scenic Route and is a great base to discover other parts of beautiful Southland.

Interaction with GuestsI go to work at odd times of the day or night so sometimes I'm there, sometimes not. When I'm home I enjoy cooking breakfast for my guests. Good bistro meals at local tavern and lovely restaurant on the waterfront. Great walks around the area Getting AroundColac Bay is a destination so your own transport is essential. Other Things to NoteIn Colac Bay we are on rain water and septic tank system. Consequently the water is the very best you can drink. The water operates via a pump system, so the shower does not have really high pressureHappy to help with laundry issues. BBQ available on request.

                We offer a four bedroom self contained home, with a log burner. Our rate is $140.00 per night for two persons and $20.00 each extra person. We offer breakfast hampers if required - continental $14.00 and full breakfast $18.00. A cot and highchair are available on request and laundry facilities are available. Wonderful ocean and farmland views, you can relax and soak up the atmosphere. We are on the Southern Heritage Trail so walking is popular.
