Guest AccessNature abounds in the area - Santeetlah Lake Boat Rentals, Hiking in Joyce Kilmer Forest, Fontana Lake activities, White Water Rafting, Nantahala Forest trails, Horseback riding and more. Fireplace wood provided - not for outdoor fires. Bring your charcoal for a backyard BBQ. Cleaning - $75 charge in addition to rental. Longer stays can negotiate interim cleaning services. Note: AirBnB limits our ability to connect by phone before accepting the reservation. While this process is meant to protect both host and guest, it is counter-intuitive. I will want to speak with you before we finalize the deal to make sure our home is the right place for your holiday or retreat plans and of course, to answer any questions you might have. Thank you for understanding. Interaction with GuestsCall our cell phones or email - We will respond as soon as possible. While we have local maintenance and cleaning services available when needed for longer stays, our goal is to provide you with a private retreat space during your stay unless you have specifically contracted for a facilitated experience at additional rates. The NeighborhoodWe are 20 minutes west of Robbinsville in the Nantahala Forest of Graham County. Quiet and private, surrounded by nature's beauty we keep coming back for rest and renewal away from the tourist areas, yet close enough for day trips to Asheville and Franklin (1-2 hours), Murphy (45 minutes), Santeetlah Lake (5 minutes) and Joyce Kilmer Forest (10 minutes), Cherohala Skyway minutes away. Stay on the property and fish for trout, roast marshmallows at the fire pit, or hike our 3/4 mile trail. Whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River - 1/2 hour. There is a covered bridge to the property that accommodates passenger vehicles. Robbinsville has an Ingles and Walgreens and a few casual restaurants. There is a convenience store/gas station on Hwy 143 (past Robbinsville and enroute to our home). Sports car enthusiasts and motorcyclists love the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway nearby. Other Things to Note3 wonderful upscale dining places are close-by and also serve wine and beer - Snowbird Mountain Lodge is our favorite... reservations required, no children. Also excellent, Jaspers at Tapoco Lodge (recently changed hands-very friendly and good food) and Blue Waters Mountain Lodge (we haven't tried yet, but it was suggested). In town, try The Hub for local flavor and casual dining. A flat screen/smart TV is available. This secluded pristine cottage is ideal for the couple or small family. At one time Graham County's main farming business was trout. This cottage was the residence of the caretaker for one of the best ran farms in the county. Stewart Trout Farm had a reputation of quality and productivity. Once they closed the farms down we were fortunate enough to acquire this cottage. We tried to restore it to its original beauty and still be functional for the average family. It is next to a rushing trout creek with a pond and waterfall on the property. It has a large back deck with hot tub and a wrap around front porch facing the pond. You'll find all the amenities you would ever need. Canoes at lake are available, pets are welcomed, and so much more. Wilderness you share it with otters, coyotes, bears, deer and wild hogs. You can not see another cabin from this property. it is surrounded by protected wilderness area.

It's packed with features the family will love, like a newly renovated kitchen, a pool table, an air hockey table, and a new, sheltered outdoor fire pit overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains and Lake Fontana. Recently renovated, the home features a redesigned fireplace, new carpet, and updated furniture in a number of rooms. However, the focus of the renovation project was the kitchen. Beautiful new cabinets, granite countertops, and all new stainless steel appliances, including a separate wine refrigerator in the newly created wet bar space, highlight the labor of love which went into this project. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, bath with jetted tub, 42" plasma TV, and private deck with a spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains and Lake Fontana. Two of the other bedrooms each have one queen-size bed. The fourth bedroom has a full-size bed. There is a futon in the game room and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The outdoor space is ample, and you can take in the magnificent view from the multiple decks, hot tub, and newly built, sheltered, outdoor fire pit. Gather the family around the fire pit, and keep your favorite beverages and "fire food" ingredients handy and safe from the elements and woodland invaders by placing them on the fire pit shelter's convenient shelf. Additionally, there is a newly installed gas fire pit on the back deck which the family can also enjoy (not currently pictured). The location between Fontana Dam and the village of Stecoah just off NC-28 makes this a great base camp for driving tours of the Cherohala Skyway or a family tour of the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. You also have an easy trip to either Robbinsville essentials, or the Bryson City attractions like the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Deep Creek, and Nantahala Outdoor Center. The road to the cabin is paved for the steep part then gently sloping gravel to the parking at the end of the driveway. There is plenty of parking in front of the cabin. One bay of the garage is available for guests. *If the number of people in your party exceeds the "Sleep in Beds" number for the cabin, there will be an additional charge of $10 per night for each person over the "Sleeps in Beds" number up to the "Max sleeping" number.* Additional amenities include: pool table, games, sleep cap: 12, website-smcabins, *sleeps in beds: 8, dining table: 12, jacuzzi bath tub, area: graham, direct TV: dish network, firepit, bedding lower level: futon f, bedrooms: 4, bedding living room: sofa sleeper, view: exceptional view, bedding bedroom 2: queen, view: long range view, bedding bedroom 3: queen, washer and dryer, website-wscabins, motorcycle accessible, bathrooms: 3.5, ilink: ilink booking, private bathroom 1, bedding bedroom 4: full, internet access: free dsl, king bed, bedding master bed: king, bedroom summary: 1k, 2q, 1f, futon, ss, TV bedroom 1.
