Our town has a Mayberry atmosphere. I am 3 blocks from downtown restaurants, shops, and parks. It is wonderful to wake to church bells chimming or take a late walk listening to coyotes and water rushing over the dam. There are many forest preserves within 15 minutes. Nygren, a bird look out deck is minutes down the road part of the National Land Institute. Guests come to this area for Beloit college, weddings, car racing and more. If you are taking classes or taking part in any way at Angelic Organics it is a straight shot from my location, about seventeen minutes. There is hiking, biking. Canoe, kayak, fishing (and ice fishing). You can get a license down the street. This is a well know place for birders, a banding station is in one of the preserves. You can ski, snowmobile on marked trails and snow shoe. You often will see eagles and whopping cranes and view birds during migration season. In this area there are events and sports in every season. Getting AroundYou can walk or ride a bike around town. If you plan on a hike or event you will need your personal transportation. The tollway is within 10 minutes from here.
If you are coming from the East. Chicago/Ohare, take I90 west towards Wisconsin. Just before the Wisconsin boarder is Rockton road. Take Rockton road West. As you enter the town area you will pass the high school. Continue West and cross Rt 75. The swimming pool is on your left and a stone church is on your right, cross 75 and go three blocks West to Cottage. I am on Cottage and Union on the south-west corner in a salmon tone two story home. You cannot see the house number untill you pass the house due to the garage. (Rockton road changes to Union when you cross 75). There is a lamp post in the front yard and a picket fence around the side and back yard. If you come from the North take I90 East to Rockton road, follow the same directions. Other Things to NoteMy dog may bark if a critter comes too close to the house or loud cracks of thunder. He will be with me at all times. He will not go upstairs to your suite. He is a wonderful dog!
