This is our 100+ year old shotgun bungalow located in the historic and vibrant Volker neighborhood. We called this home for better than 10 years. During that time, we completely renovated it, while keeping the historic charm. Two kids later..... we're now offering it to you. You get the place all to yourself. No noise annoyances above, or below. Just a nice, quiet, and peaceful home to call your own. The home has one bedroom with a Queen size bed, as well as a sleeper couch in the front room/library. Ideal for 2. Happy to accept up to 4. The home has all the amenities of a fully functioning place. Including Wifi, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Pandora, (no cable). A full size washer and dryer. A library of books and movies. A bicycle, helmet, and lock. Even a sewing machine. There's no shortage of things to do nearby, many within walking distance. 39th street - boutique shops, excellent international restaurants, bars. (URL HIDDEN) Westport - more eclectic shops, restaurants, and lots of nightlife, including live music. (URL HIDDEN) Plaza - 3 minute drive. Shopping, Restaurants, and great people watching. (URL HIDDEN) Union Station/Crown Center - less than 10 minute drive - historic train station/shops/restaurants/activities. (URL HIDDEN) and (URL HIDDEN) Power and Light District - 10 minute drive. Restaurants and nightlife. One of KC's newest hotspots. (URL HIDDEN) .....and those are just some of the biggies. The list goes on. We just love the midtown energy. Hope you will too

The SpaceThis is where Bob Dylan would've stayed if it bad been available when he was touring. It'd be like staying at the Beat Hotel in Paris (if you could go back in time). The foyer needs some work - it's pretty old. But it makes the experience even cooler. The carpets are a little shabby on the way up to your flat, but once you're there it's an amazing experience. Mostly art students from the Kansas City Art institute live in our building. What you're next to: +Country Club Plaza - half a block away 100's restaurants and shops +Nelson Atkins Museum of Art half a block away +Kemper Museum of Modern Art half a block away +Westport (3 blocks) awesome place to go out +Natures Own grocery (2 blocks away) The lighting in this space is amazing. It's really bright during the day and at night the apartment glows. It's on the top floor of an old apartment building so it's really quiet. All the neighbors go to the Kansas City Art Institute or one of the other colleges. You can hear the plaza bells in the morning and just a slight hiss from the city. This is an old building so you'll see some shabby carpeting in the hallway up to the flat. Once you're inside its all hard wood flooring and it smells really fresh and clean. Some of our guests have described it as shabby chic. There are plenty of plates, glasses, flutes and stems in case you want to entertain. There's a Nature's Own grocery store two blocks north on Main. Interaction with GuestsI love meeting guests. Hit me up if you want to grab a drink or something. Coffee is good too. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is so cool. One block from the museums (Nelson and the Kemper).

The SpaceThis is my full time home and I love it! Guest AccessYou can use the kitchen, washer and dryer. All I ask is that you clean up after yourself. I can grocery shop for you for an extra $10 if you need a few things but won't have the time to grab them yourself. For breakfast, I will leave out some fruit, bagels, cream cheese, and cereal - just let me know if you have any dietary needs and I can try to accommodate. The TV in the guest room isn't exactly modern, but it's all I have for now; better this than nothing, right? please refrain from drinking the booze or eating the food in the house. I would be more than happy to leave a few things out for you that you can have. there are some warm and cozy slippers for you in the suitcases under the tv. (i learned this while living in europe.) Interaction with GuestsYou will have a little local refreshment greeting you when you arrive. Depending on when you are visiting, I will be here, or you can have the place to yourself. I am on the go a lot, but would love to get you settled in even if I can't stay. The NeighborhoodWelcome to the city of fountains, jazz, and BBQ! I love the location of my neighborhood and its diversity. Kansas City, KS is basically the same city as Kansas City, MO, just separated by the state line. I am just a few streets west of the state line. We have the best KC BBQ - Oklahoma Joes! One of the best patios in town is walking distance; a little taco joint called Taco Republic. The new IKEA is just a hop, skip, and jump down the highway. My street is relatively quiet with nice neighbors and 10 minutes away from just about everything this town has to offer. Getting AroundWe have Uber and Lyft and a local bus line to help you get around. KC does have a bus system you can connect to if you don't have a car. I will have that map in the room for you. If I am able, I can pick you up from the airport for an additional $30. I do have off-street parking available if you have a car. Other Things to NoteMy family has a farm where we specialize in grass fed beef and farm-to-table dinners. If this is down your alley, I can have some local beef available for you when you arrive to purchase or some of our crazy good preserved food. (My favorite are my mom's jams;)) Ask if you have more questions. The bathroom is a shared bathroom located between the bedrooms.

It is within five to ten minutes of Westport, the Plaza, downtown, 39th street, and Brookside. Easy bus line access, Troost/39th Street.
