"★★★★★ My family and I (there were 8 of us) stayed in the house at the end of August and I must say we had one of the best vacations we have ever had. There is something really special about this place. The house is huge-we could have easily added another 6 people, and was well equipped with just about all that we needed. I loved being able to rise early while the house was quiet and sip coffee on the porch and listen to the loons. Kayaking across Roxbury Lake each morning was so peaceful, the water is like glass. Fishing was plentiful (we caught at least 40 in the 8 days there) and fun. Driving around the area we discovered beautiful Lovejoy Covered Bridge nearby, with an awesome (cold!) swimming hole, multiple roadside waterfalls, mountains to hike, and mamma moose and her baby grazing in the bog down the road. Everything about this place is lovely, can't wait to come back!" Getting AroundBeach is less than five minute walk. Local convenient store and restaurant is a 20 minute walk. You will want a vehicle to take day trips and visit the grocery store. Other Things to NotePlease make reservations at least one week in advance. Per night includes the 9% Maine lodging tax. Linens and towels provided at your request with an $60 fee. No pets. No smoking.

The closest large town is Bethel, approximately 25 miles from the cabin. Rumford is 18 miles from the cabin. Please obey the speed limits! You will find radar set up in the most unlikely places. Other Things to NoteBe prepared to bring your own food. The kitchen is complete and ready for cooking, but you need your own food. Hummingbirds abound here! We have hummingbird nectar in the refrigerator if you would like to refill their feeders. There is a TV and DVD/VHS player for movies. There is a large Lego collection under one of the beds in the common area. Please do not throw the rocks from the bank into the brook. Those rocks are essential to prevent erosion of the brook bank, which is still recovering from Hurricane Irene (which was really scary).
