The SpacePlease READ THE ENTIRE listing before making a reservation! The unit is not childproofed for children under 5 years old.
It's a tiny, open floor plan, detached studio apartment. And by open, that means no doors (except the front door) to the bedroom or the bathroom. The bathroom has a privacy curtain and it is tucked around a corner. It has a full fridge, two electric burners, sink, microwave, toaster oven, plus many kitchen essentials. Sleeping arrangements are a DOUBLE BED and a QUEEN SOFA SLEEPER (it is technically several inches smaller than a normal queen bed, but bigger than a double). Please understand bed sizes and make sure they will accommodate you. There is an HDTV that gets a number of local channels, plus a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, and there is WIFI. There isn't air conditioning, but we don't need it as the cool coastal temperatures keeps us comfy!
This unit is located behind the main home. It is a detached unit and up several stairs, which provides nice privacy. The host family lives in the main house, so you may hear exuberant children from time to time if you're around during the day. Guest AccessThere is a deck attached to the studio with table and chairs. Interaction with GuestsWe'll be here to greet you and answer any questions, otherwise you can count on privacy. The NeighborhoodIt's a great scenic, RURAL location, yet not far from the amazing places of Monterey Bay. The entrance to Elkhorn Slough is less than three miles from here and well worth a visit (closed on Mondays & Tuesdays). It's perfect for birding, kayaking, walking, and seeing our famous sea otters! Moss Landing is just a bit further, which offers great options for dining, antiques, galleries, fishing, whale watching, kayaking, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding. Then, of course, there is Monterey and Santa Cruz, just 23 miles (37 km) in either direction, and both Monterey and Santa Cruz counties have excellent wineries! While staying in our studio, you will probably hear dogs barking, roosters crowing, and coyotes howling (which often gets the barking dogs howling). Getting AroundPublic transportation is not convenient from our location. You will need a vehicle to get to everything unless you like long walks on roads without a shoulder. Other Things to NoteWe have two guest passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium available for our guests who stay two nights or more (just let us know when you arrive or when you book if you'd like to use them and they need to be returned at check out).
