The SpaceWe welcome you to our lovely home in the country! My husband and I have 3 bedrooms with private bath available for non-smoking guests. (A discount is extended with the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms when booking the main bedroom). We can accommodate 3 couples or 6 guests comfortably. We are 30 miles from the Monterey Peninsula & Santa Cruz, 80 miles south of San Francisco, and local wineries are abundant within 20 miles! Whether you're looking to just relax by the pool, hike in the local foothills or venture out for a drive along the coast, our home can accommodate you! We love living on the central coast and would love to share all there is to see and do in this beautiful area. Internet, parking and motor-home parking. The area is easy access off the 101 freeway and very convenient to go many directions. Shopping, wine tasting, beach, trails; very diverse! We have lived in our home for 20 years, and thoroughly enjoy our lifestyle and the area. We'd love to point you in the direction of your desire and travel plans. We may or may not be around during your visit as we enjoy travel as well. Our home is a private oasis with the surrounding area tempting your visit....we're new at the home rental opportunity, but welcome the adventure. Included with your stay is a "local bottle of good wine"...white or red; your choice! Guest AccessYou will have access to your room, kitchen (available for coffee and light fare), game room (3 t.v.'s and pool table), and outside. Enjoy! Interaction with GuestsWe interact as much as the guests want our company. Sometimes we just meet and each go our separate way or we have been known to hang out, visit and enjoy a glass of wine or beer together. Just depends.... The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is safe, quiet and enjoyable. Bring your tennis shoes and walk around the neighborhood. Getting AroundKeep in mind that as you drive up the road to our home that we are the first home on the "RIGHT". Drive past the single driveway to the U driveway turning right and parking is available next to the rose garden. A gate code will be sent when en route to our home. Other Things to NoteWelcome to California (if your from out of state)...the land of desert and "water conservation". We would appreciate you conserving our natural water resource by taking short showers and hanging up towels to re-use. We'll coordinate your arrival time between 4 p.m and 9 p.m. and the "official" check-out time is 11:00a.m. Please advise us of a 2 hour window of your arrival; we will then plan on your time-frame. If you deviate from your chosen time-frame, then check-in at our convenience. Thank you.

The SpacePlease READ THE ENTIRE listing before making a reservation! The unit is not childproofed for children under 5 years old. It's a tiny, open floor plan, detached studio apartment. And by open, that means no doors (except the front door) to the bedroom or the bathroom. The bathroom has a privacy curtain and it is tucked around a corner. It has a full fridge, two electric burners, sink, microwave, toaster oven, plus many kitchen essentials. Sleeping arrangements are a DOUBLE BED and a QUEEN SOFA SLEEPER (it is technically several inches smaller than a normal queen bed, but bigger than a double). Please understand bed sizes and make sure they will accommodate you. There is an HDTV that gets a number of local channels, plus a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, and there is WIFI. There isn't air conditioning, but we don't need it as the cool coastal temperatures keeps us comfy! This unit is located behind the main home. It is a detached unit and up several stairs, which provides nice privacy. The host family lives in the main house, so you may hear exuberant children from time to time if you're around during the day. Guest AccessThere is a deck attached to the studio with table and chairs. Interaction with GuestsWe'll be here to greet you and answer any questions, otherwise you can count on privacy. The NeighborhoodIt's a great scenic, RURAL location, yet not far from the amazing places of Monterey Bay. The entrance to Elkhorn Slough is less than three miles from here and well worth a visit (closed on Mondays & Tuesdays). It's perfect for birding, kayaking, walking, and seeing our famous sea otters! Moss Landing is just a bit further, which offers great options for dining, antiques, galleries, fishing, whale watching, kayaking, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding. Then, of course, there is Monterey and Santa Cruz, just 23 miles (37 km) in either direction, and both Monterey and Santa Cruz counties have excellent wineries! While staying in our studio, you will probably hear dogs barking, roosters crowing, and coyotes howling (which often gets the barking dogs howling). Getting AroundPublic transportation is not convenient from our location. You will need a vehicle to get to everything unless you like long walks on roads without a shoulder. Other Things to NoteWe have two guest passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium available for our guests who stay two nights or more (just let us know when you arrive or when you book if you'd like to use them and they need to be returned at check out).

The SpaceI love my country home on 5 acres with Oak, Redwood and Australian Silver Dollar Eucalyptus trees and interesting varied landscaping around the home. Relax in the hot tub or on the patio overlooking the view. If you play piano or guitar feel free to play! I look forward to making your stay as wonderful and magical as possible! Your coastal sea life room awaits.... Guest AccessYour bedroom and bathroom are private and you are welcome to use the kitchen/laundry areas or relax in front of the TV. You can park one vehicle under the carport and another one in the driveway which is completely paved and private. There is an electronic gate at the bottom of the driveway that I will open and close for you with my remote offering you security and privacy. Have use of patio, hot tub and BBQ. Relax and enjoy the view! There are two bikes available for your use as well! Interaction with GuestsThere are magazines, books and newspapers in your room that highlight some of the many splendid sights to see in this paradise known as the Monterey/Santa Cruz Peninsula.. If you prefer discovering the area on your own, that's fine too. I'm more than happy to answer your questions and fill you in on some great spots to check out. The NeighborhoodI live near Elkhorn Slough Wildlife Preserve where you can walk on trails along the bird preserve areas. The Pacific Ocean meanders through the natural formations and the water is brackish. The wildlife is protected; no hunting is allowed. By car it's about 8 minutes from my home. Local free newspapers will detail restaurants, hotspots, parks and scheduled events while you're here. It truly is an embarrassment of riches here. My home is less than 30 minutes to Monterey, Carmel by the Sea, Pacific Grove, Carmel Valley or 30 minutes north to Santa Cruz, Aptos, Capitola, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, UCSC. People who live around here are on acreage with fences and gates and we all place a high value on privacy. It's very important that you call me at least 1/2 hour before your arrival so that I can give you detailed instructions how to get here since some GPS's do not work right around here. It is Very Important NOT TO DROP BY A NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE on your way here inquiring as to my whereabouts. Because they don't know me and I don't know them. As neighbors we don't casually drop in on each other. If you need to call me my cell phone is always on when I'm hosting and will answer your call. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Getting AroundThis is a country area. You need a car to get around. There is a bus stop nearby, I've never used it. Car rentals in near by towns, Salinas, Aptos, Marina, etc. There is taxi service out of Salinas, 8 miles away. Of course, there's always Uber service out of Monterey, Santa Cruz or Salinas. Bring your bike and your kayak (rentals available) for some fun outings on the Monterey Peninsula. Other Things to NoteThis is a country home that is quiet at nighttime. At this time of year, I usually burn wood in one of two wood stoves in the home. I will get the fires going to keep you warm and comfy or if you prefer, you can turn on your base heater in your bedroom and bathroom. I'm looking forward to making your stay here at Strawberry Hill enjoyable, relaxing and informative. Continental breakfast is between 8 and 10 am. Let me know what time you'd prefer to have it served. This is the gateway to both Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. Welcome to Strawberry Hill!

The SpaceThis 37 foot travel trailer has 5 different sleeping setups which gives guests plenty of flexibility to accommodate a range of guests, whether adults or children. With the full kitchen you could easily host a BBQ or save some money by cooking in. The large fridge can house your beverages or leftovers from several of the local restaurants. A full sized, extra comfortable bed in a separate bedroom gives you the privacy you'd expect at a hotel. A full sized bathroom facilitates those needs that some RVs don't. Best of all, for those coming from out of town, you'd get the great recommendations and directions needed to visit all the local sites and restaurants to make your vacation complete. This RV is also located within a gated community, on 3 acres, in an extremely quiet neighborhood. Guest AccessWhile this RV is located on my property, it is tucked away in its own corner facing away from my house. Access and parking us right next to the RV so there will be no issues with entering my residence like in other rentals. Interaction with GuestsInteraction will be based on your need. Want to do your own thing, no problem. Have questions, no problem I'm here to help. The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is comprised of homes with each having a minimum of 2.5 acres, mine being one of the largest properties. The entrance to the neighborhood is gated and the street is a dead end so there is no through traffic. I run an automotive shop in my spare time so my property has several vehicles scattered about, but I assure you they all run. :) Getting AroundSanta Cruz is approximately 20 minutes away via car. Monterey is approximately 25 minutes away via car. The beach is 10 minutes away via car. Public transportation is approximately a 20 minute walk to the nearest bus stop.

The SpaceThis is a unique and magical 1000-square-foot cottage in a lovely valley amid rolling hills and agricultural fields. This cottage is on one acre of land on a 10-acre hillside where we have four family houses and extensive gardens. My family has lived on this land for almost 70 years. This cottage was designed for maximum privacy and quiet at the edge of the property--so no one will drop in on you--but I and my family are available to give help and advice about the many nearby attractions, from the Monterey Bay Aquarium to antique shopping at Moss Landing, to buying fresh fish and how to cook it in the fireplace. We also have a great barbecue grill in the back yard. We usually live with all the doors flung open to the garden. There is such a lovely quiet here that just spending a day in the sunny kitchen and in and out of the garden is a vacation. Guest AccessTravelers will have the whole cottage to themselves. Interaction with GuestsYes, I and my family will be available and will be happy to give advice on local attractions. The NeighborhoodWhile we are in a rural location on a quiet country road amid rolling hills, large oak trees, and agricultural fields, we are not remote. It is a 20-minute drive to the local beaches, to get fresh pie at Gizdich farms, or 30 minutes to either Monterey or Santa Cruz. We are an hour and a half south of San Francisco Airport and an hour south of Silicon Valley. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in rural areas here, so you will need your own car.
