The SpaceMy home is a three bedroom, two bath mountain cabin in Arrowbear Lake, CA. I have two lovely decks with a quiet, retreat-like setting in the trees with several table settings and a gas BBQ. Folks who stay have the full access of the top floor of my home: bedroom, bath, kitchen, dining room and living room and the decks. My bedroom, office and bath are downstairs so you'd have plenty of privacy. You may use the kitchen. I do provide breakfast unless you need to leave before 7:00 a.m. Wireless internet. Non-smoking. Queen size bed. Arrowbear hosts two restaurants (Neo's Deep Creek Drive In and Blondie's) and a Valero gas station and very little else. The population is just at 700. I do have one friendly cat, in case that's an issue. Much as I try, there might be cat hairs. Once I go to bed downstairs, you can choose what to watch on TV. There is a big deck right outside the bedroom and guests are welcome to sit out there. Generally, we have conversations. Sometimes, I provide dinner on the days I cook and guests happen to return at that time. I surely do hope you love cats, because Chi is an important part of this household. I have one of those rural neighborhoods where everyone looks out for one another. Sometimes, when our weekend-only neighbors come up, we provide wood for them to burn on the cold days. You will need your own car for transportation. There is the Marta bus, but it involves long waits. In the wintertime, that's challenging. Although my home is on the corner of two streets, it's peaceful and quiet most of the time. I love to sit on my back deck and just look at the trees - when it's not snowing, of course. ;) Guest AccessTV, Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, outside decks in the summertime, Wi-Fi and me. :) Interaction with GuestsI play it by ear and chat if they want to; not if they don't. The NeighborhoodThe people are friendly and we all look out for one another. Getting AroundTransportation in the mountain really requires a personal car. There is mountain transportation via Marta Bus, but I have never used it and don't know the schedule. Here's a link for their schedules: (URL HIDDEN) Other Things to NoteI'd be grateful if you'd let me know what time you think you will arrive to be sure I'm home and not at dinner with friends, for example.

The NeighborhoodGood neighbors! We love our neighbors and want to keep it that way. Please be respectful of their space and don't go sledding or hiking in their yards. :) The neighborhood is quiet and you can often hear crickets at night and the occasional coyote howling or owl hooting... Enjoy the mountains! But please remember to be quiet after 10:00 am so our neighbors don't call the Airbnb hotline number about you! :) Getting AroundThere is space for two vehicles in the front of the cabin. If you have additional cars, you can park at the lake just three houses down the street. Other Things to NoteArrowbear Lake is seasonal and fills up with water in November. It is stocked with trout for fishing in the spring and dries up by July due to the recent drought. If you are staying during July - October and want to enjoy a lake, we recommend driving to Green Valley Lake (8 minutes away) during the day. They have a year-round lake with a swim beach, fishing and boat rentals. You can also drive 15 minutes to Lake Arrowhead or 20 minutes to Big Bear Lake. Our cabin is a good mid-point to use as a basecamp for exploring the mountains. Lastly, please note that we will charge your deposit if there is anything broken or missing, or if we need to pay for additional cleaning services out of the norm, like deep cleaning curtains/carpet, pet stains, vomit/blood, excessive amounts of garbage not fitting in the cans, etc...
