Guest AccessGuest will have access to whole house, screen porch, wood deck and 15 acres of beautifully forested land on the Wood River. Interaction with GuestsYou will have total privacy. Homeowners and our housekeeper Joann are not on premises but are available to help or answer questions. The NeighborhoodThere are many great nearby scenic drives, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and skiing options. Restaurants in Grantsburg and Luck. There is a black book in the dining room with much more information. Getting AroundA long and wide unpaved driveway leads in with ample parking and turn around for those towing trailers. The SpaceCharming, rustic/antique, very clean and cozy Minnesota cabin-like place, but somewhat updated! 1966 walk-out 1,230 Sq foot cabin with open floor plan and vaulted ceiling in the common areas. 2 bathrooms (one on each level). 8x8 loft with bed and skylight. 3 season porch with log futon. Futon on the lower level for sleeping as well as a large sectional that has functioned well as additional sleeping space when needed! Large shaded deck with a great view of the lake. Newer refrigerator & range. 1 Full sized bed in the main level bedroom 1 Full sized bed in the loft 1 Futon in the 3 Season porch 1 Futon in the lower level 1 Queen sized bed in the bedroom in the lower level 1 Queen sized aerobed is also available. 3/4 Bath on the main level Full Bath in the lower level (All new with washer/dryer) Many priority things have been updated, but it IS just a cabin and still awesome in it's imperfections too! We love it. Guest Access128 feet of shoreline! The shallow water and dock area is nicely shaded throughout the early hours and I keep it weeded for swimming. The dock has a swim ladder since the shoreline is rocks for erosion control. Great recreational lake with miles of boating - over 3000 acres! Boat up the Snake River to Lake Pokegama. I personally do not fish, but I see fishing boats troll by some mornings and sometimes the neighbors are fishing right off their docks. No boat? You can use our canoe and kayaks - no charge. We have a new grill on the deck for you to use! We have quite a large fire pit down by the shore. (See photo's) You might need to bring some firewood, but you can use what you find around the fire pit area. Interaction with GuestsWe can come by to help or visit if need be if we are available. The NeighborhoodWalmart is a very short drive away! All of the fun of a cabin with convenience added! Pine City is a cute small city with weekend activities through most of the season. I'll have the Guidebook on the table for you to sort through any local things of interest if you like. We are located along the county road where the speed limit is 30mph, but there are trees and shrubs between the cabin and the county road. You probably won't notice when you are enjoying the lake view from the deck. 10.2 Miles from Chengwatana State Forest. (Straight East on Cty Rd. 8). 13 miles south of Hinckley, MN. (Grand Casino is there if you like gambling) There's also a theater in Hinckley. 1 Hour from Mille Lacs Lake. 28.5 miles from Banning State Park. 1 Hour and 7 minutes from Jay Cooke State Park 1 hour and twenty minutes south of Duluth. Only 1 hour from Minneapolis! If you're boating, Lake Pokegama (a trip up the Snake River) has 2 places to dock your boat and eat; The Floppy Crappie or Vanelli's. Another option a short boat trek from the cabin is Scotty's Parkside Cafe! They offer dockside food delivery. Order while boating and stop by their public dock and pick it up! Order a pizza from Pizza Pub in town! They will deliver it right the deck and you'll LOVE IT! Be sure to check out the guidebook for all of the local places. There are neighbors, but they may or may not be around. (See the photo's for proximity). Many weekends we don't see anyone but the boaters trolling by. Getting AroundYou can park along the county road, but there should be space for 3-4 cars in the driveway. Other Things to NoteThere is no central air, but we do have a window unit that can be used if it should get hot. We usually only have to use it a couple times a year since the cabin is nicely shaded. The lower level stays cooler, naturally. The loft can be the warmer spot to sleep during hotter weather, but there is a little window up there and it is awesome when it's a clear night to see the stars! There isn't any wifi or cable TV but mobile phone service is usually good!

The SpaceThis is a genuine log cabin, hewn from local timber. All of the outside walls are logs, as well as some inside. Complete with a pine ceiling, it is very warm and cozy. The furniture is a heartfelt mixture of new and antique, each piece lovingly selected for the space. I've included a TV and DVD Player (no cable or antenna, however) for rainy days. The large modern kitchen makes cooking big breakfasts easy after a night of grilling and roasting marshmallows just off the back patio. This all melds perfectly into a grand guest experience. Guest AccessYou will have access to the entire cabin and surrounding 5 acres of forest, including 4 bedrooms (3 full size beds/1 queen), large kitchen stocked with cooking/dining essentials, living room, fireplace, and modern bathroom. Outside, you may enjoy the propane gas grill, fire pit, paver patio and patio set in secluded privacy as the forest surrounds you. Interaction with GuestsI will be available via text, email and phone; you will only have the wildlife with which to share this experience. The NeighborhoodGrantsburg is home to Crex Meadows as well as the 30,000 acre state park across the road with numerous hiking trails. The St. Croix River complete with boat access is just two miles down the road. If that's not enough, there are plenty of antique and gift shops in and on the outskirts of town. For the adventure seekers, you can rent outdoor toys just across the main highway and for the less adventurous, there is a Par 32 golf course in town.

The NeighborhoodIt's generally quiet here however, being mainly a second home area, summers and weekends tend to be busier with activity. Neighbors are located to the North and somewhat further away to the South through brush and trees. Also there are homes dotted along directly across the river. Other Things to Note- Ripple River is located on a dirt road that can sometimes be dusty and/or dirty. In the winter time it can be hard-packed snow for the duration. - No TV here. - Cell service is spotty.
