The SpaceMy home is located on 2 acres of land and a five minute walk to see the tidal bore and a 6 minute drive to the UNESCO Joggins Fossil Centre, my home is a quiet retreat in the country. I offer one bedroom with a double bed. All linens are hotel quality, line dried, weather permitting and hand pressed. The bathroom is shared and is on the first floor. There is wifi and cable TV. This room will only sleep 2 people and my home is not suitable for children. Breakfast is included. You can have muffins, homemade jams and jellies, eggs, coffee, juice, and fruit. There is no restaurant in River Hebert. My kitchen is not available for guests to use. I am located only a ten minute drive to the beach on the Bay of Fundy, where you can see the highest tides in the world. River Hebert is 27 Km from Amherst, therefore you will need a car. There is no bus system. Confederation Bridge to PEI is only a 45 minute drive. Halifax is 2 Hours drive and Moncton N.B. is 1 hour away. River Hebert was a coal mining town and boasts 3 museums. Springhill, the home of Anne Murray and the Anne Murray Centre is only a 20 minute drive. Explore the area or sit in the gazebo and read a book and relax. I welcome the opportunity to have you stay with me in beautiful Nova Scotia. Double Room, sleeps 2 is $55.00 per night, however check the calendar as I sometimes offer special rates. I have two kittens in the house and they often provide entertainment in the evenings. They are not members of SAG or ACTA so they work for food and water. The SpaceCosy double bed in our spare room. Own bathroom. Wardrobe and drawer space available too. We can put up a 3rd bed in the room for a child or small adult on one of our massage tables or fold out beds for an extra $15 a night. You have access to a small lounge with TV, video and DVD player, and the dining room. For stays of 2 nights or more we would be pleased to offer a complimentary light breakfast is available. You are welcome to use the fridge to store your food and to come and go as you wish. Guest AccessYou have use of the dining room, small TV lounge, private bathroom and your bedroom. If you would like to use the fridge feel free to ask as we're happy for you to store perishables. If you would like to cook your own meal, that can normally be done, but if you can let us know in advance that would be great. If not, then we can work it out when you arrive. The NeighborhoodWe offer an older, tree lined historic neighbourhood with friendly folks. Our town has restaurants, cafes, art galleries, grocery stores, artists shops, Post Office, banks, hospital and lots more all within walking distance. The town is also a haven of musical events and theatre performances through-out the year. We are a 7-10 minute walk from the centre of town. A 30 minute drive to Moncton city and airport, an hour & 45 minutes to Halifax International Airport. There is a Via Rail Station in the town about a 15-20 minute walk from our house. The train passes through 3 times a week while travelling between Halifax and Montreal. Getting AroundThere is no public transport in the town except for two local cab companies. Maritime Buses pass through the town 3 times a day on their services between Moncton and Halifax city and Halifax Airport. The Via Rail train stops 3 times per week on its journey between Montreal and Halifax. Moncton Airport is 30 minutes away and Halifax International Airport is an hour and 45 minutes away. Other Things to NoteWe have two little dogs so please be dog friendly. They love visitors and will find a place on your lap very quickly if you allow them! NB: They do bark at times! We are happy to consider a request for you to bring your pet but let's discuss this before confirming the booking.

The NeighborhoodOur home is situated in the eastern Canadian province of New Brunswick, in the lovely town of Sackville! We are well situated for those driving between Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island and points south or west (ie: New Brunswick, Maine, USA, Quebec or Ontario). We are very close to the famous Hopewell Rocks and Fundy National Park and also the fossil wonder of Joggins! Many of our guests visit New Brunswick especially for those attractions. Our home is a 3 minute drive from the main highway/freeway. Throughout the year music and theatre is on tap! We have lovely summer days and there is a swimming lake about 7 minutes drive away. We have outdoor cafes, arts and craft shops, restaurants, supermarkets, parks, a very popular Saturday farmers market, art galleries and in the summer many events take place . During the winter there are cross-country skiing trails and ice skating at our indoor arena or on our waterfowl lake. During the school year the town is busy as we are a university town with Mount Allison University just up the road from our house. The town also boasts its own cinema playing the latest movies and a weekly Film Society showing festival/independent/art house movies. Music events abound through-out the year from indie bands to jazz to classical offerings. And the town's Community Theatre (The Performers' Company) performs twice a year during the summer and Fall. Other theatre groups from the university and the town also offer various productions. Getting AroundThe only public transport in the town is two local cab companies. So a car is necessary. You can also walk or ride a bike to most places in the town. Maritime Buses pass through the town 2-3 times a day on their services between Moncton and Halifax airport and city. The Via Rail train stops 3 times per week on its journey between Montreal and Halifax. Moncton Airport is 30 minutes drive away and Halifax International Airport is an hour and 45 minutes away. Relax in the Gazabo with a drink or just sit and read a book. There is cable TV and wifi. Breakfast is offered and includes toast, fruit, coffee, juice, eggs and cereal.     The SpaceOur cottage is 962sqft with 4 bedrooms. There are two bedrooms down stairs one with a double bed and the other with 3 single bunk beds. Upstairs has one room with a double bed and a single bunk on top and the other bedroom has a queen bed with a balcony looking over the ocean. The living room and kitchen are open and comfortable. The bathroom is on the main floor. Also we have an outdoor shower for sandy beach feet. Guest AccessThe beach access is shared with 3 other properties. It is common to see other people using it. You can take a car in 8min. to the downtown core, Sackville has two taxi services. Other Things to NoteThe house is on a main street a highway. There is the sound of traffic, generally the traffic is very low at night. The bedroom in the house is in the back, so most people are not bothered by the traffic sound.

It is an ideal space for reading, writing, making art and/or just relaxing while you are visiting Sackville. Guest AccessThere is a fully equipped kitchen for guests to use. Interaction with GuestsWe live a few blocks away from the Duffer so when guests arrive, we can pop over to let you in to the place, hand over the keys and chat with you about any questions you might have about the area. The NeighborhoodThe Duffer is located right in downtown Sackville just off Main Street. Having said that it is very quiet on Dufferin St. and when you're inside the house you can hardly hear a car go by. The Duffer is located just up the street from the middle school and the Lions' Club. Getting AroundYou can walk to all shops and restaurants in downtown Sackville in less than 5 minutes. Park your car in the driveway and leave it there for the duration of your stay.
