The SpaceThe guest house is located at the edge of the town of Salatiga, right at the foot of Mt. Merbabu. Salatiga is strategically located between three touristy cities/areas, Semarang, Solo and Jogja. Staying here will allow you to avoid the busy life of big cities, while at the same time having the benefit of easy access to those other cities. Semarang is a short 1 hour drive from Salatiga, while Solo is 1.5hour and Jogja 2 hours.
The house itself and its neighborhood reflects the laid-back lifestyle of Salatiga. Surrounded by a tropical garden, it offers three bed rooms and two bath rooms, where one is en-suite to the master bedroom equipped with warm water. It comes with 1 double bed and 6 single beds, which is good for small group retreat, or a big family. It's kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a one-burner gas stove and a rice cooker. The person will stay at the separate building at the back of the house. If you need anything during the stay that can only be resolved my me, please feel free to contact me through the caretaker, or to my cellphone number. The NeighborhoodThe house is situated in a rather new neighborhood, somewhere at the outskirt of Salatiga. There are not many houses surrounding the property, and you will see that there are plenty of access to the rice fields. It is the right place for people who seeks a restful and quiet space. It's mostly quiet during the day, with not too many activities around the property, but if you're lucky you can probably watch the harvesting of the rice in the surrounding field. Getting AroundPublic transports are available only a short distance from the house. You only have to walk about 300 meter to the main road to access transportation to Salatiga or even other surrounding towns and cities. If you're travelling with your family you may want to hire a taxi for the day. They are willing to have you pay by the hour to go to different places around Salatiga. Other Things to NoteA refrigerator is not available in the house, therefore it is advisable to cook moderately to ensure that none is going to waste. Salatiga has a cool climate, therefore many fruits and vegetables will be able to stay fresh without needing to be refrigerated for 2-3 days.
