The SpaceSmall cabin with everything you need for a relaxing lake getaway. 1960 era basic cabin, updated in 2015 with fresh paint, flooring, furniture and HVAC. New Memory foam mattress in the bedroom for a comfortable nights rest. Living-room with futon, an easy lounge chair and Flat screen TV with HD antenna plus Netflix. Very Private - interaction with neighbors is possible but not necessary as the spacing between properties provides a large buffer. Turn off your phone and reset your life at Pine Island Point!
It is ideal for a couple's retreat - one couple getting away, relaxing and focusing on each other.
Two younger children are easily accommodated by futon and the hassock-hide-a-bed.
It becomes crowded with a second set of adults.
It is a great property to host a Sunday get together at the lake - so invite your family and friends for a BBQ.
It has accommodated campers before - where everyone slept in tents and used the cabin for food prep and bath facilities. If the focus is outdoors it is great - if it rains it’s not so great for a large group because other than the grilling pavilion there is no place to congregate. Parking is very limited so groups have to carpool. I don't recommend this...
Small space - you won't be comfortable if you attempt to bring too many people! Four is my max under normal circumstances - shoot me a message if you want to try something different and I'll let you know my opinion. There is a fifty dollar surcharge per person for each above four – we can talk about this but we discourage groups as it is a small cabin. Children are free so if you are a couple with young children that is of course cool by us. Multiple sets of adults is where it gets too busy - its a tiny house with a big outdoor space!
This is a Lake Experience Destination. There is a 270 degree water view meaning any direction you look there is water! There is 800 feet of shoreline - there is over 1.6 acres including the island / peninsula to enjoy. This is not a residential neighborhood in town with a sliver of lake frontage - this is Lake Keowee the way its suppose to be!
See house rules below: No long term rentals available - this is a weekend get-a-way destination. 3-day stays are ideal... 10-day max!
Parking is limited and restricted to the gravel driveway - no parking on grass. 3 to 4 cars fill up the space and there really isn't any space for an RV. If you have any questions about this please message me and I can refer you to the pictures to show you the space allotted or we can talk through your idea.
I say all of the above because I want to be realistic and I want to create the right expectations on your part. I have found that by over emphasizing this information and description I am able to attract the right kind of guests.
It is a really fun place for the right guests and that is typically an individual, a couple or a small family wanting to relax and chill at the lake.
This is an ideal retreat for the "Kale & Kayaker" type! Guest AccessYou have complete access the entire property and facilities: the cabin, the sundeck, the grilling pavilion, the fishing pier, the swimming pier, and shared access to Pine Island Point.
Important note: Pine Island Point is a shared Peninsula with the next door neighbors - this is a common area so you are welcome to enjoy it - all of it, however please respect the neighbors privacy as they like to do their own thing.
If you are there during the week - you will likely be the only ones around as the neighbors are "Weekenders" - so if you want maximum privacy, tranquility, and exclusivity then weekdays and non-holidays are for you.
The preferred check in time is after 3 pm and the preferred check out time is noon. If you are coming for the weekend please consider booking Sunday night as well – that way you can enjoy the entire Sunday morning, afternoon, and sunset before you leave. I don’t like our guests to have to rush to leave on Sundays at noon – it’s much better to spend an entire Sunday at the Lake and leave really early Monday!!! Please reserve Sunday Night too!
I want to emphasize that checking out at noon on Sunday when the weather is beautiful will not be popular with family members.
We utilize instant booking so things are subject to change especially due to the summer popularity of the Cabin. We have to allow time for housekeeping to do their thing - we don't charge for cleaning so we ask for your assistance in cleaning up after yourself - please help make our job easier and faster to prep for the next guests. As our dear friend Tiffany says... we ain't your Mamma nor did we take you to raise!
If you don't want to do any tidying up at all - no problem leave $65 on the table and we'll have the Mini-Maids come do your portion. We do understand that schedules change and it is easy to lose track of time at the lake; you are here to have fun so your enjoyment is our most important priority. But your clean-up effort and care allows us to keep from charging a security deposit and a cleaining fee.
All the pictures attached here are actual and taken with an iPhone without any filters or photo-shopping - what you see in the pictures is what you will experience - great mornings, great sunsets, great night skies - all the pix are of the property you will have complete access to. There is a wooden farm style fence that outlines the property making it easy to see the property boundaries - it is all there for you to enjoy exclusively. There will be no visitors and no disruptions to your relaxation - the property is turned over to you for your private enjoyment.
Exclusive Private Enjoyment! Again the farm style fence defines the property boundaries - and its all there for your enjoyment. The gated entrances adds to your privacy as well. Interaction with GuestsI live in Seneca about 25 minutes away and am available for assistance. Usually I will meet you upon your arrival, introduce you to the property, give you a quick tour and orientation then leave it in your hands - once we show you around we get out of your way and let you enjoy yourselves.
If you are seeking a quiet retreat and you brought your supplies then - close the gate and the tranquility of the lake and the privacy of this property becomes all yours. The NeighborhoodPine Island Point is an unrestricted area on the best part Lake Keowee near the exclusive Cliffs of Keowee Springs and the Reserve Golf Club. PIP is an awesome peninsula with water everywhere you look. A private road leads to breathtaking lake vistas - over 800 ft. of shoreline for your enjoyment.
This is a secure area that is family and pet friendly. Rare, flat landscape for easy strolling around the property - every inch is easy accessible by foot and is large enough to consider it exercise to see the entire property. You are not on a steep hillside nor are you crowded into a residential area - this is the real lake experience - very retro and all natural.
Property is ideal for guests that want to spend time outdoors, lawn games, grilling, sun bathing, swimming, fishing, exercising, yoga, meditating -- are all activities that will work well at Pine Island Point.
Reminder - if you are looking for indoor amenities and or luxury accommodations this is not the property for you. It is a very basic one bedroom cabin that is retro and limited in scope.
Again Pine Island Point is all about the lake.
This is a Lake Retreat and a Tiny House Experience all in one! Getting AroundDurham’s Convenience Store has both gas and diesel fuel, some grocery supplies and makes a great Bacon/Egg/Cheese breakfast sandwich and is about 4 miles away. Durham’s - 3210 Walhalla Hwy, Six Mile, SC 29682
There is a Dollar General and a Mexican restaurant in the little town of Six Mile - about six miles away. If you travel into Central / Clemson you have every kind of bar and restaurant you would expect in a university town, including some upscale dinning (see yelp) at Rick Erwin’s, Calhoun Corners and the Blue Heron. You also have the typical Walmart, Lowes etc. nearby in Central, SC.
Favorite Pizza in Clemson is Todaros' and favorite hole in the wall bar is Nick's - and they are next to one another - College Ave @ Sloan Street.
If you want to play golf - I have a membership at Cross Creek Plantation which is a Pete Dye Course - inquire for details - Golf can be an optional activity.
Keowee Marina rents boats. They are located near Rochester Hwy and the 123 Bypass in Seneca. There is also a Tiki Bar there.
Nearby camping facility called Mile Creek Park can be used to launch a boat. Gap Hill marina is also a launch point and fuel destination
The Light House Restaurant and Cabana Bar are located about ten miles away on the lake – go west on Hwy 183 a mile on the other side of Hwy 130. Good food with an upscale inside dinning room and a beach side casual cabana for simple eats and cold beer. Other Things to NoteThis is a great location to use as a base to explore upstate of South Carolina, NE Georgia and Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of Dragon (for motorsports enthusiasts), apple growing at SkyTop orchards, Historic Highlands NC, even a trip over to the Cherokee Casinos is easy from the cabin. So much to do...
Some people are coming from nearby and want to relax at the lake - others are coming from afar and want to explore the area….within a couple of hours drive you can visit so many places. So whether you are relaxing at the sundeck or taking your convertible for a ride through the mountains – you can do all of this and more from Pine Island Point.
If you can book a full moon visit you will be happy about that decision because the night sky is gorgeous from this property.
And for weather information - and we have great weather; lots of sunshine, nice breezes and cooler nights make it easy to enjoy a visit to the lake.
As one recent guest noted - [we brought our boat but the property doesn't really have adequate docking facilities]. The swimming pier has a jet ski port for docking, but neither this pier nor the fishing pier are functional for docking a boat. You can beach your boat out toward Pine Island Point but the boat traffic could dislodge it - so bringing a boat is discouraged! Boating = ??? Kayaking, swimming, fishing relaxing = yes yes yes!!
