This is a beach front compound. It sits on 1/3 of an acre with direct beach access. The property includes 2 bedrooms in an elevated unit with private screened in porch overlooking the beach. it also includes a bunk house that sleeps 4 and a cabana with screened in porch and kitchen facility. All units overlook the private pool. The full time caretaker puts up the hammocks early in the morning and maintains the property. The beach is exceptional because most days you will see few if any people. The lone net fisherman is probably what you will see most days. Groceries and other amenities as restaurants are 8 kilometers away. If you are looking for isolation and quiet with a little surfing or touring on the side, this home is excellent. Only 20 minutes from the International Comalpa Airport, the main airport for San Salvador, El Salvador. Playa El Pimental is a black sand beach just 20 minutes from the main airport in El Salvador. Very easy to get to from any where in the USA. Surfing is rated in the top of 5 locations in the world. The people are rated as 3 in the world for friendliness. Sightseeing is fun and an easy day trip in most instances. Fish can be bought off boats right off the beach and food in restaurants is some of the best and most inexpensive I have ever seen. The hotel down the beach rents dune buggies and horses. Our local guide can take you to the Mayan Ruins, surfing or waterfall jumping in the mountains. Or just sit by the pool and relax with a book. From the Lonely Planet...: El Salvador is a country of mind-boggling diversity. Mountain cloud forests and fuming volcanoes, charming colonial towns and broad green valleys, black-sand beaches and some of the world's best surf – they're all here, and chances are you'll have them practically to yourself, as the country remains largely unknown by travelers. El Salvador is also a land that has suffered through a bloody civil war, devastating natural disasters and a pernicious gang problem. Despite these trials, Salvadorans possess a preternatural resilience, as well as a wonderfully disarming friendliness and hospitality towards visitors. As their guest, it's worth remembering that this is a conservative culture in which being polite and respectful is paramount for foreigners and locals alike. Here's your guide on how to make a good first impression: Do… shake hands and say mucho gusto (nice to meet you) the first time you meet someone preface your conversation - even simple requests - with buenos días (good morning) or buenas tardes (good afternoon/evening). It is also courteous to say hello to the person sitting next to you on the bus and to make a general greeting when entering a public place like a restaurant. use the formal usted (you) to address locals until they go to the informal address first. In El Salvador, that’s the vos form - the same tense used in Argentina instead of tú. Take the time to learn it before you go. And needless to say, have at least some basic Spanish under your belt. bring mementos and souvenirs from home to give as gifts to special folks who have helped you or invited you to their home pay attention to your appearance. Salvadorans are very conscious of appearance, grooming and dress. Looking scruffy and unwashed is considered an affront. Don't… go into shops shirtless or in a bikini. Though the beach may be nearby, wandering around in such skimpy attire is inappropriate. In general, steer toward conservative attire, especially when visiting churches, where you should avoid wearing tank tops, shorts, or hats. No Salvadoran wears shorts outside of the beach and coastal towns. refer to indigenous people as indios, which is considered an offensive term. The word indígena for indigenous men and women is widely used. expect everything to rush at New York City pace take photographs of religious ceremonies or people without asking be insulted if people comment frankly on your physical appearance or give you a related nickname (eg El Gordito/Fatty). This is done affectionately and isn't meant to be hurtful. Find out more about this intriguing country in Lonely Planet's Central America on a Shoestring guide. Already been to El Salvador? The SpaceThe view and sound of the ocean, the breeze, the sunset and sunrise are beautiful and buying fresh fish from the locals is unbeatable!!! Guest AccessAll I ask is no smoking inside the rooms and bathrooms please Interaction with Guests- I have a very friendly Weimaraner called "Layka", Orlando takes care of her and vice verse. - We can offer you a cooker for $10 a day (pay her directly at the end of your stay) The NeighborhoodSuper Talpa is near by to get groceries and estero y mar as well to go eat or order to go food. El Pimental is NOT a highly "touristic" area, it is a nice family/small town environment where you will find a lot of fishermen with their little boats that sustain their families from selling their fish. There are beautiful houses as very humble ones where the locals live. Getting AroundYou need a car to get to the beach house, road is partially paved. Locals ride bicycles and take "pick up trucks" to get to San Luis Talpa. Other Things to NoteFresh coconut, almond and maranon trees!! Feel free to ask Orlando to get some to eat/drink (if coconuts are taken down you need to tip him $5 please) The water at the house is from a well (electric pump) used for bathrooms and kitchen, water from the city has very little pressure, buy from the grocery store bottle water to drink and prepare food, the 5 galon bottle is $2.42
