It's an excellent opportunity to visit the SF Bay Area without the city rush. However, if you keep the windows closed, it is quite a quiet place to relax! There is a Holiday Inn (San Mateo) 1 block away to arrange for airport shuttle service for pick up and drop off. Getting AroundOur apartment complex makes it convenient to travel to San Francisco or to San Jose (30 minutes driving or take Caltrain). Caltrain is 20 to 30 minute walk. Other Things to NotePlease TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES UPON ENTRY to keep the place as clean as possible. This keeps the cleaning fee as low as possible. We also do not provide breakfast as I am working 7 days a week and am usually not home. Namaste. We also run a shipping business out of our living room as a home based business. PLEASE NOTE: Street parking gets tougher later on in the evening. Street parking can be found on N. Kingston Street or Dore Ave. We are about 15-20 minutes walk away from downtown San Mateo.

The SpaceHello. Thank you for looking at my listing. I have two fully furnished large bedrooms available in my newly remodeled 1900+ sq ft home in San Mateo, CA. (There's an identical listing for the other bedroom on this site. I have to make two separate listings because the calendar can only show availability for one listing each.) The house is in a residential neighborhood with ample parking, 15 miles south of downtown San Francisco. It's about 15-20 minutes drive to SF border, or you can take the bus to Millbrae BART station or walk to the San Mateo or Burlingame CalTrain stations to get to SF, or south bound to Mountain View or Palo Alto. For those days/nights when you want to explore the suburbs, nearby within two miles are downtown Burlingame and downtown San Mateo with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. A little more south are Palo Alto and Silicon Valley. I am also two block from the bay trail where you can go for a run or a bike ride for miles and miles. It is absolutely beautiful and will lighten your spirit. San Mateo is below the fog line so you are almost always guaranteed to see the sun in the summer and most of winter, which is more than you can say about SF. There is a daybed with trundle in one bedroom and a queen size bed in another. As you can see from the pictures, the entire house is flooded with light. There is wi-fi through out the house. All bathrooms are new and with shower over tub. Towels and linens are available for your convenience. For those guests who are staying for more than a week, washer and dryer are also available for your use. Rentals include utilities and wi-fi. If you are interested in booking a room but the calendar shows it is unavailable, please check my other listing. The other room may be available. I frequently travel on business so you may have the whole house to yourself for the entire or part of your stay. I have an indoor cat and a toy poodle dog but the house is immaculate as I have a cleaning service every other week. The cat stays home while the dog goes to a sitter when I travel. While I welcome tourists and travelers, my house is also perfect as short term rentals for those students who are doing internships in nearby Foster City, Palo Alto or Mountain View. Genentech is even a short drive to the north toward SF. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns that I have not addressed here. I hope you will come and stay with Lulu (dog) and Titi (cat) and me as we love our clean, spacious and beautiful home. But if not, we still wish you a memorable visit to the beautiful and magical Bay Area.

There is exercise equipment for you to use including a commercial quality spin bike, Precor Elliptical, and a Hoist V4 home gym. Plus a TV hooked to AT&T Uverse with On-Demand Premium Cable. This is a perfect place to hang, workout and reflect. Check it out!

The SpaceThis is my home where I live with my kids (part-time). It is nestled in an oak grove, by the side of a creek, and it offers the feeling of being in a tree house. A deck wraps around the back of the house, overlooking the creek, and is at the canopy level of the surrounding oak (and redwood) trees. A hot tub is in the front patio, a short walk from the sliding glass doors that lead into the family room. There is a California King bed in the master, and a double bed in each of the other two bedrooms. A note about the photos: The first set you see were taken two years ago when I staged the house to put it on the market (and then took it off and decided to keep it!). Some of the furniture shown in those pro photos is no longer there, so I also added a handful of snapshots of the rooms as they currently are. Guest AccessGuests have full use of the house, with a few restricted areas (closets, basement, and the garage) where I keep my things. You will have full use of the kitchen, the grill on the deck, the hot tub, and of course the living space. Wifi is provided, along with Apple TV (Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime Instant Video (free stuff only, please!) on the 52" screen in the living room. Interaction with GuestsThe front door has a keypad lock, and I'll send you a private code that you can use during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is very quiet, and the house is at the end of a quaint cul-de-sac. Neighbors are all friendly, there are a few dogs nearby but they rarely bark. The squirrels are generally too busy collecting acorns to be much for conversation, sorry! Getting AroundA local bus stop is about four blocks away, and if you have a bike (or don't mind the 25 min. walk), there is a CalTrain station nearby as well. For driving and freeways, there is very convenient access to 92, and from there to 101 and 280. Other Things to NoteI want AirBnB to work well, and I plan to do whatever I can to make it succeed for us all. I hope that you share this desire as well!

The SpaceThis unit is two story, and is accessible from second story, so you must be comfortable with stairs to stay here. The front bedroom is a queen bed, and the back bedroom is king bed. The back bedroom has more exposure to the CalTrain, which can be quite loud for guests. Guest AccessThe kitchen is available for your use, and you may use spices and dishes. Replace if you break. You can use the Breville Juicer, but be sure to clean well after use. A press-pot is available for coffee, along with fresh beans and a grinder. Washer and Dryer Drycleaner Free WiFi Cable, with HBO and Showtime Interaction with GuestsI will be available at check in, and am just a quick email / call / text away. The NeighborhoodOur condo is nestled in a mixed professional and residential neighborhood with plenty of parking. Getting AroundWe are less than a mile walk to downtown San Mateo and the CalTrain station. We are just a little over a mile south of Burlingame, and their CalTrain station. Other Things to NoteOne of our family members is a Shih-tzu, which is hypo-allergenic....but we want you to know just in case you have any crazy allergies. Once upon a time we had 2 cats live here. The home has been deep cleaned, but I can't state that someone with aggressive cat allergies wouldn't be affected.

The SpaceFrom the Cave, you will barely be able to hear the other occupants of the house. It is a Full size bed (not Queen like the other rooms), so might be most suitable for one person. Although it is cave-like, the windows are on triple (openable) French Doors so there is pleasant natural light during the day. - Fast, free wi-fi (50 Mbps). - Free use of large, front-loading Washer and Dryer - Kitchen with gas stove, toaster, microwave, and basic cooking staples - Living Room with comfy leather furniture and gas fireplace - Mini-breakfast includes coffee, tea, oatmeal, granola bars, and ramen - Bathroom with Endless Hot Shower (it is shared, however). - Front porch, sunny/shady back patio, lawns. - Fenced backyard - Spa/Hot Tub is fussy, but works. - Pet(s) on premises. - Backyard tiny houses are closed. Guest AccessWell-stocked kitchen with gas range, basic oils, spices, coffee and espresso machines, and breakfast/snack basket. You are welcome to use the high-efficiency front-loading washer, dryer, and laundry supplies. An iron and ironing board are available too. Shared bathroom, but the shower/bath never runs out of hot water. Fenced back yard, patio and garden. There is a Bluetooth-enabled stereo in the living room, but no TV. Instead, stream with your own device using the fast wireless internet. Interaction with GuestsI am home to personally host about half-time, otherwise my friend Maribell is local and super helpful. I will happily respect your privacy, or engage in scintillating conversation over a drink. I've worked in Silicon Valley for over 20 years, so might be able to help with tech firm advice and connections. The NeighborhoodIt's a clean, quiet residential neighborhood close to the bay within walking distance of a full grocery store plus several smaller stores and a dozen restaurants. Getting AroundBuses (SamTrans) stop is three blocks away. Caltrain to San Francisco or San Jose (and connecting to BART) is a 5 to 7 minute drive or bike ride, and a 20 minute walk. On-street parking is safe and easy. Other Things to Note(The best signal) Wi-Fi for the Squid Cave is named "squidnet", no password needed (although you are welcome to use any of the other wifi networks as well).

The SpaceCozy downstairs bedroom with private bathroom and separate backyard entrance. Great residential neighborhood, walking distance to downtown San Mateo and the train station. Regular queen bed with adjoining full bathroom, french doors lead to the back yard. Small but comfortable space, wi-fi available. The household does have two cats and there are chickens in a coop in the back yard. Ample street parking, we also have loaner bicycles available. We have installed a small refrigerator and microwave in the laundry area off the guest room. We have an older single family home in the Baywood knolls section of San Mateo, 10 miles from SFO, 20 miles south of San Francisco, 20 miles north of Palo Alto and Stanford University. My wife and I live upstairs and have my stepsons part time, two well behaved boys ages 15 and 16. We are happy to visit and orient you to the neighborhood and the bay area, or not, as you wish. We both are frequently at work or out of town. Downtown San Mateo is a 15 or 20 minute walk with a vibrant restaurant and social scene. Cal trains runs from downtown San Mateo to San Francisco at least every hour or so, $5 each way. We do have a Sam Trans bus stop two blocks away that runs on weekdays. No Smoking please. Please note: It is one of three downstairs bedrooms. You can hear people walking around upstairs in the house through the ceiling.
