The SpaceThis cottage sits on our 20-acre property at the base of Mt. Hood (about an hour east off downtown Portland - a great city to explore!). We are 30 minutes west of Ski Bowl and the Mt. Hood National Forrest. The cottage is approximately 300 square feet, with a small covered porch and fireplace. Private bedroom with full bed, living room with a wood spiral staircase up to a sleeping loft (spiral staircase is not appropriate for small children), a kitchenette with toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and mini refrigerator. A full bath with the added bonus of a washer/dryer. Great for after a day of travel or playing in the outdoors. Guest AccessOur 20-acre property has trails all over winding through beautiful trees. There are springs on the property, several which feed our 1 acre pond. The pond has a small island, kayaks and a zip line for adventurous folks that want to jump in and add to their experience! The pond is great for swimming, is stocked with trout, and is fun to paddle around in. There is a lovely garden (in the summer) and a row boat for a quiet afternoon. Outdoor activities (depending on weather) can include hiking around on the trails, disc golf, carpet-ball, horseshoes, a pendulum swing, and basketball. Additionally, there is a Magical Treehouse (also listed with AirBnB) on the property. Interaction with GuestsThat depends on the guests and their needs. We live in the main house, about 60 feet away, separated by the driveway. We will either be here to greet guests, or make arrangements for them to access the space and get oriented to the accommodations and property, and to provide information about the area if they are interested. We do love to entertain and meet new friends, so there have been times when we end up sharing conversation and eats on the wrap-around porch of the main house. We take our cue for interaction from our guests (and depending on what is on our calendars). We understand that many folks just want to get away and enjoy their privacy, which works well too. The NeighborhoodWe are mid-way between Sandy and Welches on the flanks of Mt. Hood. We are six miles from town (Sandy), in a quiet setting. All neighbors have acreage properties. The area is very forested and beautiful, the cottage and private home sit on about two acres around the pond, and are out from under the trees, so there is plenty of light. Getting AroundYou'll need to have a car. We are in the country! Six miles to town (10-15 minutes), 30 min. or more to Mt Hood attractions, and an hour to either PDX or downtown Portland. Other Things to Note•We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if possible. Please ask in advance for special accommodations. •If you wish to have more than the allotted 4 people, we need to make arrangements ahead of time (an additional fee will apply). •Please note: we are located in a fairly remote location, and have relatively poor internet service (no good service is available to us). The only internet access you’ll likely have is your own cell phone (service is heavily dependent on carrier). We recommend not counting on it.

The guest room is the only west facing room upstairs and is decently spaced from any of the remaining upstairs bedrooms for added privacy. Backyard is fenced, large patio wraps around east and south faces of house with sunshine all day. Guest AccessBackyard has a propane BBQ, open wood stove for fires out on the patio, table and chairs for outdoor dining. Garage is set up for minor ski and bike tune and repair. The Kegerator is usually stocked with some local beer or cider. Interaction with GuestsDepending on the time of day and season, we are accessible most evenings and some days. The NeighborhoodQuiet, safe neighborhood. Less that 5 minute walk to 5k nature trail and 2 minute drive to main streets of town. Getting AroundWe suggest you have your own car for transportation around town and surrounding areas including Mt Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. We are a 40 minute from downtown Portland. Other Things to NoteWe have two well-behaved, friendly dogs - a lab and a golden retriever. They are not allowed in the guest room when not in use.

The SpaceThe Tree House sits on our 20-acre property at the base of Mt. Hood (about an hour east off downtown Portland - a great city to explore!). We are 30 minutes west of Ski Bowl and the Mt. Hood National Forrest. It is really sweet. There is a wood spiral staircase that goes up to the Treehouse. The Tree House is approximately 200 square feet, with an 8'x10' sleeping loft. The main floor has a queen bed, bistro table, reading chair, mini frig, coffee maker, microwave, RV toilet and cold water sink. There is a seating area below the Treehouse as well, so you can sit and enjoy the outdoors even if it is raining (a good thing in Oregon). Picnic table (not covered) and gas grill are available for your use. If you like camping or backpacking, you will love the treehouse. It is 'Glamping' (Glamorous Camping). If you prefer more amenities (like porcelain toilets and a shower, check out the guest cottage on our property, also listed on AirBnB). This is a unique property, please view "House Rules" prior to booking. We live in the main house, visible through the trees, about 100 yards away. The NeighborhoodThe Neighborhood We are mid-way between Sandy and Welches on the flanks of Mt. Hood. We are six miles from town (Sandy) so it is quiet. Most neighbors have acreage properties. The area is forested and beautiful. There is another guest cottage (also listed on AirBnB), a pond cottage, and our personal home. Getting AroundYou'll need to have a car. We are in the country! Six miles to town, 30 min. or more to Mt Hood attractions and an hour to either PDX or downtown Portland. Other Things to NoteFor the Treehouse, the most important thing is to have a sense of adventure and be ready to "rough it" a bit - (that means no hot water or shower)... but beyond that - it is delux! •We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if possible.

The SpaceMy wife and I are quiet, respectful hosts readily willing to help you plan your trip. We've got recreational flyers from many of the area's activities to help make your stay an easy one and if 'QUIET' is what you need we have hiking trails down to a small, year-round creek, complete with pond. We are pet friendly and our own pooch is a 60# lab/poodle mix who believes we are visiting aliens and he owns the house. We also have two quiet felines who are rarely seen but I tell you this so those of you with allergies can be advised. Guest AccessYour booking is for a spacious recently renovated room with attached bathroom. There are no kitchen privileges but an outdoor gas barbecue is available. The room includes a microwave, small refrigerator, and a one cup coffee maker. Internet access is via satellite for email etc. but due to data restrictions we cannot stream movies. Our home is in the country (5 min from Hwy 26 and shopping) and included with the room are a small TV along with 30 DVD's. 15-20 books are available for casual reading. Guests have full access to the 10 acre property and can stroll our trails to their hearts content and our fire pit can make an evening fun and relaxing. This is a non-smoking home and we would ask that you respect this while in the room. Interaction with GuestsWe have been local residents for 15 years and would be pleased to offer suggestions regarding activities and dining. If privacy is your goal we respect that too. The NeighborhoodOur home is 5 minutes from Hwy 26, the main road to Mt. Hood skiing and also to downtown Portland. The home has been built in the middle of 10 forested acres, with a year-round stream, hiking trails and is country living at its finest. Enter the property by way of a 1000'+ gravel drive through the forest, past the quaint greenhouse and opening to a lovely country home. Nearest neighbors are at least a half mile away. Getting AroundThere is one parking stall for our guest but ample parking near our greenhouse for additional vehicles. The mass transit bus/train system to Portland and beyond begins in Sandy with the free bus pick up 2 miles from our home. It's only a quick transfer in Gresham and you're on your way to downtown Portland or to the airport via the "Max" train. Other Things to NoteWe're pet friendly but ask that your pet be vaccinated, altered, quiet and controlled. Crate trained animals are preferred. The property can accommodate off lease, supervised play but please do not bring aggressive or non-house trained animals and be sure to clean up after them.

Our home is a balance of terraced gardens, stone paths, deck and Jacuzzi under a canopy of Cedar trees. Situated 25 min. from PDX, 35 min to Portland, we are the gateway to the Gorge, walking trails of the Sandy River, and 25 minutes from Mt. Hood. The entire backyard of our property sits on the bank of Cedar Creek. A stunning Mt. Hood glacier sourced tributary that feeds into the Sandy River nearby. Walk out of the master bedroom right onto the deck overlooking the Creek. The dining room as well leads out directly onto the deck. Sit in the Jacuzzi on the deck, relax and watch the water flow downstream, or find your favorite reading spot on one of the several benches or swings on the property. Relax and read by the coy pond and small waterfall. The layout of the house is one of many vaulted ceilings, windows and natural light, creating a unique contemporary fusion with a fun rich palate of colors to warm you. There are two wood burning stoves. One is a fireplace insert in the family room and the other is a wood pallet stove in the dining room (each room including the bathroom has its own heaters, the house has been recently completely insulated) The master bedroom with a queen size bed, has a wall of windows looking out onto the creek, and the giant cedars in the backyard. You will fall asleep to the sounds of the creek rushing by. You have your own direct door access to the deck and the Jacuzzi. The 2nd bedroom is a fully functional den with a twin sofa that folds out into either 2 separate singles or one full size bed, there is a wall mounted internet compatible TV for you to use your Netflix, Hulu etc. The den has a desk with several full large monitors to check in at home or work as needed. There is high speed wireless internet throughout the house. (The internet speeds are suitable for financial trading, movie down streaming and gaming.) The 3rd bedroom is in most case will not be accessible - special request can be made. This bedroom has a loft with a Japanese full-size futon, an electronic piano in the downstairs sitting area awaits your fingers. We are on a water well, the water is delicious, but shower pressure needs patience to get up to speed. just turn it on a little ahead. We ask to run dishwasher and washing machine alternatively after showers and last thing at night. A little conservation and water management. If it is not a problem great, if so, not a great fit. The kitchen is fully functional and is open to the family room, with stools for counter eating (great for kids). There is a slight burn mark next to the stove (sorry gift from a guest). The bathroom is heated with a claw foot tub. There is a full size utility room with washer and dryer. The garage is for the owner only, but there is plenty of parking in the drive way.
