The Space800 square feet. Adobe structure. It was the old family house. Later a newer house was built next to it, in which we live. Mostly quiet, although you will hear distant traffic and dogs barking or coyotes howling at night. Last property on a private road, so there is no through traffic. Guest AccessThe guest house sits right next to the main house on a 4.3-acre lot, and there is ample outdoor space. Interaction with GuestsWe live next door, and can assist should an issue arise. I will first of all respect your privacy, but not be afraid to socialize, or be helpful with information. The NeighborhoodPojoaque is an Indian reservation - 15 miles north of Santa Fe, and the Pojoaque Pueblo has their tribal headquarter here, as well as grocery store, casinos, restaurants, gallery and golf courses. This is in the country, and there is livestock around. It takes 20 minutes to drive to Santa Fe, 20 minutes to Los Alamos and about one hour to Taos. If you have not been to New Mexico, this is a great spot. If you have been to New Mexico before, I think you will feel at home. Getting AroundIf you tell me about your specific transportation needs, I'll be happy to give you my best suggestion. Your own means of transportation is by far the best option, but there are shuttles and bus service to the surrounding towns and communities. Other Things to NoteWe have chickens, geese, and a dog, which run at large and is friendly. Her name is Chaco. Although we have animals (and for that reason), we do not allow guests to bring theirs.

Lovely adobe brick home on 1 acre is centrally located between Santa Fe, Los Alamos & Taos (All are skiing and hiking destinations). Great starting point for your adventures! Named for the Catalpa trees that shade the property it is close to Pueblo Indian Villages, The Santuario de Chimayo, Native Ruins, Hot Springs, Spas, Santa Fe Opera, Mountains, Hiking, Rafting, Skiing, Snowshoeing, Sight seeing, incredible Restaurants, Art Galleries, ....whew.....and, CULTURE, CULTURE, CULTURE! The home has a private seasonal salt water, solar heated lap pool, multiple outdoor 'niches' for private time or contemplation as well as a screened outdoor eating area. There are well established trees on the property providing soothing shade during the summer months but there are also areas to sit if you want to take in the sun! If you have never stayed in a true adobe home, you are missing out on a great experience. Being surrounded by bricks made from 'Mother Earth' is comforting and relaxing beyond belief. There are 'kiva' fireplaces in both the dining room and the master bedroom and the back bedroom has a beautiful red wood burning stove. The kitchen has fabulous tile work, is fully stocked with Dishes, utensils, cooking ware (bring your own food) and is equipped with Stainless Steel appliances (Stove, Fridge, Dishwasher, Microwave & Toaster Oven). Although there is no TV reception, there is a television with a DVD player and there is WIFI. Guests can access the entire house, closets included. Pool is usually opened late May through early September (weather permitting, remember we are high altitude and have 4 seasons). The pool is seasonal and solar heated so in the late Spring and Fall, comfort is dependent on the weather and temperatures. There is a garage for use that fits one car comfortably and additional outdoor parking is available. Santa Cruz de la Canada is a historic traditional village north of Santa Fe. It was once an ecclesiastical seat of the Catholic Church and the site of a battle during the Taos Pueblo Revolt of 1847. Currently it is a rural farming community of Hispanic, Native and Anglo descendants. Casa de Catalpa is located on State Rd. 76 which is one of the main routes utilized by the pilgrims during Holy Week on the journey to the sacred shrine at the Santuario de Chimayo. You will be approximately 30 minutes from both Santa Fe and Los Alamos, and 45 minutes to Taos and other recreational sites in the Sangre de Christo Mountains. This is not a hotel or even just a house, it is a home and needs to be treated with the utmost respect, care and love. There is absolutely no smoking on the property. While a good time should be had by all, please note, this is not a wild party house and should not be considered for such a vacation. If you come with children, they need to be supervised when young. There are custom wall treatments and specialties that make this a beautiful environment and would be very costly to fix, so please, no children that cannot be trusted to know how to respect it. Portable playpen, high chair & sleeping mats can be provided on request. There is a cleaning fee to get the house ready for the next guests, but you are responsible for your own dish washing, straightening up and general cleanliness. We will take care of bed linens and towels after your stay. Plumbing is on a septic system, please follow rules provided. Fireplaces are there for your enjoyment, please follow instructions provided and supervise children. Use is at your own risk. Pool Rules: No Lifeguard on duty! Use at own risk, owner assumes no liability for use. Please be respectful of the pool as it can be very expensive to fix issues once they have occurred. All children must be supervised at all times. Please do not let little children in the pool without the proper attire to prevent contamination of pool water. Please provide life jackets, swimmies or floaties appropriate for you child's age and weight. There are some 'pool noodles' for use by older children who can swim on their own. Absolutely no glass by pool! Plastic plates and drink ware are provided. Intoxication and swimming are a dangerous combination, please be responsible. Owner assumes no risk.. Water quality will be maintained weekly by owner, but guests will need to care for daily upkeep such as scooping blown in (or tracked in) debris. Please let me know if you would be interested in having this service provided for an additional fee. This is a lap pool so it is only 4 foot deep, no diving please. Owner assumes no responsibility for diving accidents. Exploration of the area will require a vehicle that will meet your specific needs. The country driveway is a bit steep so be prepared. Please let us know your approximate arrival time so that we can greet you and acclimate you to Casa Catalpa. Please let us know if you would like to hire a local guide to Northern New Mexico as we have a great connection for you.

La Mesita Ranch is located in the heart of the Nambe’ Valley, just 15 minutes north of Santa Fe. This lush, quietly elegant private ranch was re-purchased by the original owners – the Pueblo of Pojoaque – and is now available to guests seeking a retreat, a getaway oasis or a celebration destination. Some have called La Mesita Ranch the "Southwestern Downton Abbey". This is because it is a large property with a long ownership history, graced with welcoming, relaxing and comfortable structures and furnishings, and stunning visual surroundings. Traditional and formally appointed throughout, yet comfortable in its decor and modern in its accessibility, La Mesita Ranch offers guests a rare and beautiful setting to celebrate the special moments in life such as a wedding, anniversary, family gathering or reunion, or golf or girlfriend getaway. The ranch is also available as a unique site and special location for corporate meetings, the movie/film industry or simply, a quiet refuge from the stresses in life. The gated property – roughly 144 acres in total - offers 5 residential structures (The Grande Hacienda, Barranca Cottage, Badlands Cottage Escondido Cottage, and Ristra Cottage ); some of which date back to the 1930's. The property features indoor and outdoor equestrian facilities, a Large outdoor swimming pool and cabana, tennis court, duck pond, grassy pastures– and is surrounded by stunning native lands, badlands canyons, old Cottonwoods, and verdant Alfalfa fields. In the eastern distance, views of the Sangre de Cristos are clear and unobstructed; and to the west, sunset vistas as far as the eye can see. There is a view at La Mesita that is like no other view in the Southwest!! Set apart from the light pollution of the urban settings, starry night skies light up the ranch all year long. Lovingly and carefully maintained for decades, yet recently updated and modernized, the Pueblo of Pojoaque (a Native American Indian Tribe) desires to share this rare , extraordinary, and distinctive property with others who will appreciate its beauty, its tradition, its activity and its solitude. La Mesita Ranch is located on sovereign tribal land. This property was never open or available to the public until very recently. The Heiress that most recently lived behind the gates insisted upon the full confidentiality of all of the staff that worked on the Ranch. No one in the area knew what was behind the "Gates of La Mesita". It is just recently that the Ranch has been open to to receive, and to host guests. There is truly no place more spectacular in the Southwest than La Mesita .Many people call it the "Downton Abbey" of the Southwest, because it is just so amazingly Grand. You will know why the Ranch has remained such a mystery when you arrive to stay with us.
