The SpaceThe house is attached to our pizza restaurant, which makes it convenient when you get hungry! Literally next door, the pharmacy and mini mart are super convenient as well. We're on a major avenue, within walking distance to one of the city's best public markets. The room is decent sized, with a queen sized bed, and cable TV. There are two SHARED BATHROOMS just steps down the hall. Please understand that, as in common in Bolivia, the construction style is such that instead of an enclosed home, rooms are connected by covered walkways bordering an enclosed patio. This implies you will will have to go "outside" to get from your room to the kitchen, or to the bathroom, etc. We also like to make clear that we travel often, so if it is very important for you that either Shirley or Paul is home during your stay, please consult before booking. Regardless, we are very attentive and quick to respond via the Airbnb messaging platform. Guest AccessYou will have access to our patio, a shared kitchen, our WiFi network, and a wash area to do laundry if need be. When we are home, we also gladly provide transportation to different areas for reasonable prices in a newer vehicle with A/C and working seatbelts :) Interaction with GuestsWe travel often. Shirley is home maybe half the month, and Paul, much less. Our niece, Daniela, takes care of the house when we are not home, and is someone we trust. She speaks Spanish, but no English. Shirley speaks Spanish, understands some English, and speaks little. Paul is fluent in both languages. We use the Airbnb message platform to communicate with guests, and we're always connected, and able to communicate with you in either language via this medium. The NeighborhoodWe're in the Hamacas neghborhood, an upper-middle class neighborhood in the Zona Norte, within easy walking distance from public markets, parks, supermarkets, and numerous restaurants. Santa Cruz's newest and most modern shopping mall, Las Brisas, is only a 5 minute cab ride (us$1,50), or a 20 minute walk. A 7 minute busride will also take you directly to the municipal zoo. Getting AroundPublic bus lines pass by our front door every few minutes taking you into downtown (15 min.), directly to the bus terminal, or wherever you need to go. The 51 and 7 are the buslines that will get you downtown the fastest. If you need a cab, you can hail one right from the sidewalk. Other Things to NoteAs we are located above a pizza shop, in the evenings, you will hear kitchen noise from your room, and the smell of pizza does linger in the air. Please understand that we focus on offering an exceptional value. A private room with two-person bed, A/C, heating, cable TV, and wi-fi internet for the price we offer means that we do not have 24-hr. cleaning staff. We do our best to keep things neat and clean, however, the kitchen and bathrooms are used by others and at all times of the day, so they may not always be spotless. If this detail is something that will bother you, our home may not be a good fit for you.
