The Space----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PLEASE- Inquire (click "Contact Host"), rather than doing a Reservation Request (clicking on "Request to Book"). Because we list on 5 different sites, our calendar is not always up to date. We do our best, but because the demand is so high, we get inundated with reservation requests and then get penalized by Airbnb for declining the ones that are not a good fit. Help us out and send an inquiry first! We promise to respond very quickly! Our typical response rate is 5-10 minutes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This private studio is attached to our house, but it is completely stand-alone, with its own entrance. It sits on a 1-acre property on top of a hill with a view of East San Diego county. It is very quiet. At night you just hear the crickets outside and in the morning you have a serenade of birdcalls. This unit was recently completely remodeled and looks all new and is super clean. It has heating, AC, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a small patio with a view of all of East San Diego. The kitchenette is large and features a refrigerator, 2-burner electric stove, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, cutlery, pans, pots, wine opener, can opener, salt/pepper, paper towels, etc. The refrigerator comes pre-stocked with bottled water and fresh Starbucks coffee beans. The bathroom is clean, stocked, and all new. The bedroom has a brand new spring-coil queen-sized bed, bedding, a large closet, nightstands, and two small cabinets to store your stuff. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and tons of cabinets and storage. For business travelers, we also offer wireless access to a laser printer and scanner. Guest AccessGuests have one parking space and plenty of street parking. There is a washer/dryer on the premises. It is $5 a load. Detergent and dryer sheets provided. Interaction with GuestsWe live next-door and are almost always home. We are just a text message away if you need anything at all. Our family is very friendly and enjoys interacting with our guests. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a quiet, predominantly single-family residential area. It is located in the city of El Cajon, which is in San Diego’s East County. This property is generally sunnier than the coast with easy access to beaches, mountains & desert. Getting AroundDriving: Easy access to everywhere from I-8 or I-52 (both are 4 minutes away). You are allotted one parking space with plenty of street parking. Transit: There is a bus stop within 10 minutes walk. Keep in mind that San Diego’s public transportation system is terrible. You are far better off renting a car at the local Enterprise car rental place for approx. $25/day. Less than 6 minutes away are the shopping malls, restaurants, and grocery stores in Santee. Food options include BBQ and Mexican, as well as lots of different ethnic foods from Japanese to Lebanese. It is just 30 minutes away from the beaches at La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, and Mission Bay. Other Things to NotePLEASE Send an inquiry rather than a reservation request. The demand is so high, we get inundated with reservation requests and then get penalized by Airbnb for declining the ones that are not a good fit. Help us out and send an inquiry first! We promise to respond very quickly! The room is a comparative bargain. It is a lot cozier, and has more amenities than staying in a local motel. The local Motel 6 is $56/night and has no large kitchenette, free movies on demand, patio, or great view.

The house features large shared spaces like a full kitchen, spacious living room, dining room and patio area with a view. The White Room is the smallest of the 3 bedrooms for guests in the house. It has a brand new spring-coil queen-sized bed, and an alarm clock with USB jacks to charge your Smartphone. The house sits on a 1-acre property on top of a hill with panoramic views of local mountains and all of East San Diego County. The patio and dining room overlook the flight path to Gillespie Field, where you can see restored WWII aircraft constantly flying by. The neighborhood and street are very quiet and extremely safe. At night you just hear the crickets outside and in the morning you have a serenade of birdcalls. The shared kitchen is large and features a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, 4-burner stove, full-sized oven, toaster-oven, toaster, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, cutlery, pans, pots, wine opener, can opener, salt/pepper, paper towels, etc. The island in the middle even has USB jacks to charge your phone. In addition to all this free content, you are also entitled to a paid movie rental from Apple’s iTunes Store on us. (1 per stay). The room and the entire house has Wi-Fi. We recently bumped up the speed of the Internet to over 30Mbps! It is so safe that I often don’t lock my car at night. Our family has lived here 30 years without a single theft or incident. It is located in the city of El Cajon, which is in San Diego’s East County. This location is generally sunnier than the coast, but still has easy access to beaches, mountains & desert. Getting AroundIt is just 30 minutes away from the beaches at La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, and Mission Bay. It is just 25 minutes away from the Historic Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego, Seaport Village, the San Diego Zoo, Hillcrest, Balboa Park, Sea World, San Diego Harbor, the Star of India, the San Diego International Airport, and other attractions. It is about 45 minutes from the Mexican boarder crossing of Tijuana. Less than 10 minutes away are great locations for hiking, fishing, golfing, and picnicking like Lake Jennings Park, Santee Lakes, Lindo Lake, Singing Hills Country Club, and Mission Trails Regional Park. At most of the lakes you can rent rowboats, paddleboats, and even motorboats. Also, don’t miss a visit to watch the airplanes up close at Gillespie field and see Air Group One - Commemorative Air Force Museum. Mission Trails Regional Park is my favorite. It has over 6800 acres of rugged terrain and a multitude of trails perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. The park boasts of San Diego's highest peak Cowles Mountain (1594') offering a 360° look at all San Diego has to offer. Less than 6 minutes away are the shopping malls and restaurants in Santee and fun places for the family like the Santee drive-in and Parkway Bowl. Food options include Mexican as well as lots of different ethnic foods from Japanese to Lebanese. There are several grocery stores within a short drive including specialties like Middle Eastern, Mexican and health food. Driving: Easy access to everywhere from I-8 or I-52 (both are 4 minutes away). You are allotted one parking space with plenty of street parking. Transit: There is a bus stop within 10 minutes walk. Keep in mind that San Diego’s pubic transportation system sucks. You are far better off renting a car at the local Enterprise car rental place for approx. $25/day. Other Things to NoteWhile this is a shared house, there's ample room for privacy, since every guest has their own schedule. We carefully choose our guests and a phone interview is mandatory to ensure that every guest is respectful. The room is a comparative bargain. The park boasts of San Diego's highest peak Cowles Mountain (1594') offering a 360째 look at all San Diego has to offer.Less than 6 minutes away are the shopping malls and restaurants in Santee and fun places for the family like the Santee drive-in and Parkway Bowl. Food options include Mexican as well as lots of different ethnic foods from Japanese to Lebanese. There are several grocery stores within a short drive including specialties like Middle Eastern, Mexican and health food.Driving: Easy access to everywhere from I-8 or I-52 (both are 4 minutes away). You are allotted one parking space with plenty of street parking.Transit: There is a bus stop within 10 minutes walk. An 8-minute bus ride will take you to the El Cajon or Santee trolley stations with access to most of San Diego's attractions. Keep in mind that San Diego's public transportation system is nowhere near as robust as that of New York or San Francisco. You are far better off renting a car at the local Enterprise car rental place for approx. $25/day.Other Things to Note: The room is a comparative bargain. It is a lot cozier, and has more amenities than staying in a local motel. The local Motel 6 is $56/night and has no kitchen, living/dining room, movies on demand, patio, or great view.House Rules: Sorry, no smoking, loud parties, or pets!

The SpaceThis is a very large suite in a 3 story row home located 15 minutes east of San Diego's central tourist areas. We have a laundry room you can use and you are welcome to prepare meals in our kitchen just upstairs from your retreat. We will even prepare a sumptuous breakfast for you upon your request or prepare a basket of treats to take with you on your fun filled day in America's Finest City. Guest AccessWe have a community pool and hot tub and there is a City Center park right across the street with loads of free parking. Toss a few things in the wash and save the expense of loading coins into a machine at a divey laundromat. Help yourselves to our refrigerator if you would like to keep a few food items on hand to make your trip healthier and more economical. Interaction with GuestsMyself or a member of my family (two of my adult kids live here) will Walt welcome you and show you around. From there on, it's up to you. We can offer tips in activities or dining, take meals with you, or simply leave you to have your down time. We will be as unobtrusive or as involved as you like. The NeighborhoodSantee is one of the premier bedroom communities of the San Diego area. It is nestled at the foothills between San Diego proper and the apple orchards of the Cleveland National Forest and the majestic beauty of the Anza Borego dessert beyond. Our home is part of a 5 year old housing community called Riverwalk. We are located steps from the San Diego River. Getting AroundThe San Diego Trolley stops in the middle of a modern, full-service shopping center just a mile from our front door. It takes you to downtown San Diego and all pints in between as well as all the way to the Mexico border. Other Things to NoteRest assured your retreat here in the Ragsdale home will afford you as much privacy as you need and as much interaction with locals as you would like. It's not at the city center, but if you want to save the cost if city center lodging and at the same time gain the local flavor of San Diego living, this is the place to relax and unwind during your stay.
