Other than that, guests have the tiny house to themselves. The NeighborhoodLocated on the premises of Starseed Healing Sancutary and Holistic Retreat Center (URL HIDDEN) guests are welcome to walk the 130 acres of the Sanctuary including forest and field trails, a peace labyrinth, and other stone sanctuaries. With prior registration, guests may have the option to participate in public programs including meditations, group retreats, and yoga.
There is also the possibility to have a guided personal retreat. See the Starseed website for details.
There are many beautiful places to hike nearby including Tannery Falls (gorgeous waterfalls) in the Savoy State Forest. Getting AroundThis is a remote location and requires a personal vehicle to get to. Please note that the Blackbrook Road between Route 2 and the tiny house is CLOSED and you must arrive and depart via Route 116. If you are traveling via Route 2, the detour adds approximately 15-20 minutes. Other Things to NoteIf you will be arriving after dark, it is good to bring a flashlight.
The sleeping loft requires traveling up and down a ladder, which is very study and securely fastened, but is a ladder, not stairs. Guests must be comfortable with this arrangement.
There are some seasonal aspects of this house including that there is no running water during the cold season (drinking and cooking water is provided, and the shower can be used in the main retreat building) and the only heat in the house is by a tiny wood stove. Rental of this space in the winter months requires comfort with using a wood stove.
There is no telephone or internet access in the tiny house. Access may be available in the main retreat building via calling card of wifi.
Cell phone use is very spotty and not reliable.
