This camper glamping option is based in beautiful Monterey which is 2 hours south of San Francisco. Monterey is a beautiful coastal town - there is even a campground walking distance from the center (Veteran's Memorial Park) if you'd like to have an easy first night (or last night) and explore the lovely surroundings. There are very regular whale sightings in the bay and the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium allows you to explore the underwater ecology in wonderful surroundings. This site is only 1 hour away from Big Sur with its famous hot springs and a couple of hours from Yosemite. All in all we think it’s in the best possible spot for you to start a camper glamping holiday.

Jody is also available to prepare and deliver amazing vegetarian organic meals. Read our reviews on Airbnb to see how wonderful they are. You would have to contact them direct as David and I only offer the referral. Gina (phone number hidden)) or Jody (phone number hidden))- book early if you can. Hiking – Ventana Wildnerness Hikes – A friend of ours, Stephen Copeland's family donated thousands of acres to the Big Sur Land Trust and he is the only licensed independent hike guide in the Big Sur area. He works with Ventana Lodge and Highland's Inn on the Big Sur Coast in conducting private or group hikes (recently we led a big (website hidden) group on a retreat staying at the Ventana Lodge). Stephen has allowed us to give his phone number to our guests should you want to book one of his magical hikes. Upon request, Stephen or one of his hike guides can arrange a private or group hike to places that most people are not allowed to venture to or even know about! Stephen Copeland (phone number hidden). What's included with your stay: Pebble Beach is a fun drive – 17 mile drive takes you around all the splendors of the Pebble Beach coastline and Forest. You may use our Resident Pass, just follow the rules as outlined in the house manual. There will be two Monterey Bay Aqarium Passes for you to use while you are our guests. This will allow entrance through the members gate as well as discounts in the gift store. The above referrals are independent of us or Airbnb. All arrangements have to be made through them. The SpaceFloor to ceiling windows look out to beautiful large tiled patio and gardens. Brand new window coverings assure your privacy. Our repeat guests love the studio and have affirmed our commitment to providing you with a wonderfully relaxing stay with us. Please be aware that the second bed (for a third person staying in the studio), is new memory-foam folding bed, which is super comfy. It should be ordered ahead of time, at the same time when you make your reservation. (Note: If you are 6'6" and 220lbs. would not recommend the twin bed for you.) The Calendar is updated daily - feel free book instantly - the studio is always ready for guests. Pooches welcome with prior approval! ( $29. pet fee per dog, per visit - not per night!) Completely fenced-in yard, within walking distance to a lovely nature preserve. Cats are NOT permitted! If you like peace and privacy, this is the place for you. Come and go as you please at any hour of the day or night without the fear of disturbing us, as you have your own entrance and do not go through the main house at all. Enjoy this fabulous super sunny master bedroom studio, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on huge fenced tiled patio with fruit trees and gardens. I am most welcoming, yet unobtrusive, so that you will find this to be a comfortable oasis. Of course, I am reachable for any questions, advice, requests or needs. You will enter through a side gate, walk down the adobe paved path, lit with motion-sensor spots, through the heirloom roses, which are highly scented when in bloom. No need to go through the main house, as the studio is completely separate from the rest of the main house, (although attached by one common wall.) Super-private and very quiet, except for the birds, yet centrally located; five minutes to downtown Monterey, Laguna Seca Raceway or CSUMB and ten minutes to Monterey Bay Aquarium. There is a 24-hour Safeway and Walgreen's just 2 minutes away, in case you have any midnight cravings! Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are 10 minutes away. We are located in a wonderful little sun belt, perched high upon a hilltop with a nice view of Monterey Bay in a very quiet residential neighborhood, so typically we are above any fog – especially during the summer season when the rest of the Monterey Peninsula could be socked-in! We are at the top of a street which ends in a cul-de-sac so there is not a lot of through traffic and super-easy street parking right in front of the house. Freshly painted in a soothing palette and tastefully furnished, the studio is comprised of large sunny master bedroom with hardwood floors and your own private updated Travertine marble bathroom (shower - no tub) supplied with towels, hairdryer and high-quality toiletries. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer a view of patio, creating a sunny and bright ambiance. A dimmer switch for the overhead chandelier, a writing table, comfortable upholstered lounge chair and a small flatscreen TV with remote control plus wi-fi make your stay complete. The detailed FAQ binder has been very helpful to our guests and includes restaurant menus and helpful suggestions. The studio is heated through vents by a gas forced-air furnace, (controlled by the thermostat located in the main house) and if you need extra heat, there are more blankets plus a space heater for your complete comfort. It rarely gets that cold here, but if we do get a cold snap in Jan or Feb I want you to be totally comfortable! A fan is there for those hot days we get once in a while! Sleep peacefully in the Queen-sized bed outfitted with 100% cotton linens (line dried when possible) and cozy blankets, then enjoy breakfast outside on the patio when weather permits. Our guests have raved about the bed! For an extra guest, there is a brand new single folding memory foam mattress bed. We use scent-free laundry products. The kitchenette/breakfast bar includes a new microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker (filters provided - byo coffee.) The under-the-counter fridge has a separate freezer compartment with ice trays big enough for some frozen foods or ice cream. (Note: this is not a full kitchen, so please don't plan any major cooking in the room.) Set up for reheating, take out, etc. We just switched to compostable cups, plates, silverware, etc. There are real wine glasses and mugs, however! Access is through the large fenced-in beautiful, sunny patio in the backyard, filled with organic raised bed vegetable gardens which change seasonally, fruit trees and roses. This is a great location, centrally located between Highway One and Highway 68, near the rec trail, Frog Pond, beaches and terrific hills for a morning or evening stroll. No smoking inside – okay on patio. Dogs allowed with extra charge of $29. per pet per stay (not per night.) Please advise in advance of any dogs when you are making your booking - i will then send you an alteration to add the pet fee. A sophisticated foodie and twenty-five year resident of the Monterey Peninsula, I am a great resource of information if needed. Also, the studio is also stocked with lots of books on the area and a binder with menus from my favorite restaurants, brochures and information on local attractions, plus various local offers are stashed in the desk drawer. There is a great brand new fully equipped gym 2 minutes away for those who want to get their workout in. All visits come with a free pass to one of our local wine tasting rooms! Organic vegetable gardening classes are available as well as private custom designed tours of the Monterey Peninsula, depending upon your interests. If you need restaurant recommendations prior to arrival, I am happy to assist. If your party is larger than two (i.e. a 3rd person, or a child) please contact us in advance to discuss folding bed and extra linens in the closet prior to your arrival. Rates may be slightly higher during major events including AT&T Pro-Am, Concours d'Elegance, US Open, etc. Feel free to contact me - if I can make it work, I will. I live in the main house. I use scent-free laundry detergent on all of the towels and linens and line-dry the sheets when ever possible. BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE - CALENDAR IS UP-TO-DATE! The SpacePlease view my full profile. You will be able to see all of my listings to meet your needs of both individual rooms and the whole house. As is well-known, California is a sunny state. How sunny is it? In November, December, January, February and March, the geranium flowers are still blooming in my front garden, the grass and plants are still green. It is perfect to come to this area to do some hiking, walking and running on the trails with the best quality air from the ocean and the primitive trees. "Good health is the best wealth". Monterey Bay is well-known for the unique weather. In July and August, the weather here is cool. This is a good place to avoid the heat of inland area. When she is home, she will respectfully share the bathroom with you. We have a small affectionate dog who will greet you with a wagging tail upon your arrival. Guests can also enjoy our hot tub that is sunken into our back yard deck, great for relaxing after a hike in Big Sur or a day at the beach in Carmel. We've been airbnb hosts for over 5 years and enjoy making our guests comfortable and outfitted for their Monterey explorations! We just added a solar photovoltaic panel system to the roof, through Sungevity. Feel free to ask questions--or just enjoy the idea of lowering your impact on the environment while you're staying with us. Guest AccessWe have a door code so our guests can come and go at their leisure and can check in at any time of day or night~ although we’d love to be here to greet you upon your arrival. We both work full time, so we may not be able to be home when you arrive, but will look forward to meeting you later on. For multiple night stays, our guests can borrow beach blankets and picnic baskets for watching the sunset or hiking. The bathroom has a blow dryer and guest toiletries for your use. The hot tub is on the back side of the house through the back door. It is a great place for relaxing from 8 a.m. to 10:00 pm. We ask guests to be mindful that sound travels, and ask for quiet conversation in the hot tub, and no music. If your Airbnb experience requires a lot of additional living space beyond the guest room, our home may not be a good fit for you. For our family’s privacy, we don’t offer kitchen usage as it is small and inside our family room If you need anything we try to be flexible and accommodating. Interaction with GuestsWe hope you will find our guestroom comfortable as it is inside our home. We try to be home to welcome you and get you oriented to your room, and the pathway to the hot tub, but if not, don't hesitate to ask! We are happy to suggest local restaurants, hiking, or special places to visit. The amount of interaction is intuitive between us~ we thoroughly enjoy meeting new people, and we also like to respect our mutual needs for privacy. The NeighborhoodDel Rey Oaks is the hidden gem of the Monterey Peninsula. It's often warmer and sunnier here on the foggy days and we're centrally located so you can be anywhere from Marina to Carmel in just minutes. DRO's 'Frog Pond' is a popular nature preserve that provides a great walk through a stand of ancient redwoods along the coastal wetlands at the bottom of the Canyon Del Rey. Getting AroundThe Monterey Airport is 5 minutes from our house although planes do not fly directly above. (We have the best of both worlds!) Monterey-Salinas Transit ((website hidden)) lines 7 and 8 stop just a half-block from our door. Line 23 is a 5-minute walk. There is plenty of on-street parking, and because we're nearly at the end of a cul-de-sac, traffic speeds are slow and safe. Other Things to NoteCurrently (July) there is a major wild fire in the Big Sur area. Please check with the California DOT to find out if Hwy 1 has any closures while they try to get the fire under control. We are working hard to landscape our front yard with hopes it will be done soon!! While it will someday look gorgeous ~ upon your arrival, it may still look like a work in progress ;-) A note about our dog: Our adorable dog Bella is affectionate, sweet and blind. She is also a food-hound due to the medications she is on. Therefore, we ask guests to please keep their door shut so that she can't sneak in and find random food items that may be tucked away in your bags.

The SpaceRancho Buena Vista has a ranch setting nestled in the heart of Steinbeck Country. Our Family home is furnished beautifully with a very large garden and yard. Buena Vista is a 3 bedroom (with one king, 2 queens and a twin bed) 2 bathroom 2500 square foot home. We also have a foldout couch bed in the den. A lovely lawn with sun and blooming flowers awaits you and your family. Horses graze in the field that borders the hand-hewn ranch fence. Our home is 5 minutes from downtown Monterey, 2 minutes from the Monterey airport (a walkable distance), 10 min drive to Carmel, and 20 mins from Pacific Grove and Salinas. The closest beach is only a 5-7 min drive. We are 3-5 mins from the Navel Postgraduate School. We are close to everything but our Rancho is very private and secluded.
