The NeighborhoodThere is 200 acres of heritage listed scrub on the property to walk through. The cottage has views over the scrub and vineyards. It is very quiet without neighbours. There is a dam to swim in in summer or row on in winter. Getting AroundThe property is in the middle of the Fleurieu Peninsula, a little over an hour south of Adelaide. A car is needed to get to this property.

With four bedrooms including: upstairs master bedroom (1 Double bed), 2 smaller bedrooms upstairs (bunk beds sleeping 4 people), master bedroom downstairs (1 double bed). 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet, laundry, billiards table, balcony with view and large backyard with under cover BBQ area. 2 minute walk to the beach and also can drive cars on to beach which makes for easier days spent relaxing. Guests will have access to dishwasher, washing machine, balcony views, billiards table & close walk to beach. Will meet guest on arrival and show them around the house. Explain sights in surrounding locations, where to shop, eat. Also meet guest on departure. The holiday house is situated in a friendly, peaceful beach side suburb. Sellicks Beach is close to McLaren Vale wineries and produce trails, Willunga Organic markets and award winning restaurants. It is only 40 minutes drive from Adelaide, if you do wish to go to the city. This part of the South Australian coastline is renowned for its plentiful fishing and you'll find good boat launching facilities. This is also a popular spot for surfers, particularly during the winter. The shack is 10 minute walking distance to beach and general store / café or a 2 minute drive where you can drive onto the beach. Only a 5 minute walk from the stunning drive on Silver Sands beach, this beach also has the only no car zone area on the whole stretch of beach from Aldinga to Sellicks so you have the option of a safe and quiet area for the kids, but you still have the option of the drive on beach. Decorated in a fun, relaxed tropical holiday vibe with lots of quirky touches. There is an open plan fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area and a separate lounge room with flat screen TV/DVD, CD /iPod player ( selection of dvd's and cd's) There is a master bedroom with a queen size bed and a wall mount flat screen TV. There is a second smaller bedroom with a double bed. Hotel quality bed linen and Egyptian cotton towels are provided. The house has reverse cycle air con. and ceiling fans are installed in the kitchen/dining, the lounge and master bedroom. The second bedroom has a wall mounted fan. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need and more. Stainless steel oven/cooktop and bench tops. Quality pots and pans and appliances and a Caffitaly Pod Coffee machine. At the front is a north facing deck perfect for relaxing with a book or a glass of wine, this space is shady in the summer and sun drenched in the colder months so its perfect year round. At the rear is a BBQ area with a Weber Q 2000 for outdoor cooking. There is a 6 seater dining table and chairs to enjoy alfresco dining and a pebbled fire pit space for those cooler nights and maybe toast some marshmallows. There is one bathroom with shower and a front loading washing machine and a separate toilet. The house sleeps 4 with 2 people in a queen size bed and 2 people in the double bed. The NeighborhoodSilver Sands is a small community and the scrub area is the best spot along Aldinga Bay as it is not built up suburbia and is surrounded by the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park, The Washpool and farmland. The beach is amazing with white sand and pristine waters and did I mention the beautiful sunsets? On weekdays you can often have the beach almost to yourself. The house has beach umbrellas, esky, chairs, boogie boards, cricket set, etc for guests use while down the beach. Explore charming Willunga and the wine region of McLaren Vale with all the other delights of the Fleurieu Peninsula close by. Sample local produce at the Willunga Farmers Market and many fine restaurants including the renowned Star of Greece. Combine a stay with a visit to spectacular Kangaroo Island. Silver Sands is located between the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park and the Washpool so have a break from the beach and spot some kangaroos and birdlife. The old village of Aldinga has some interesting spots to eat and drink including one of the best bakery's around, a pub,an organic shop/cafe and a really quirky bar and cafe as well as some interesting retro and vintage shops. The Aldinga shopping centre is a 10 min drive with 2 supermarkets, and all the specialty shops you should need during your stay. Getting AroundSilver Sands is only 45 mins from the CBD via the southern expressway. A car is the most convenient form of transport although there is a train to Seaford and then a bus stop just around the corner. Various companies offer door to door winery tours if you don't wish to drive. Getting AroundThe car-free section of Silver Sands Beach is accessed via a board walk at the end of our street. A short drive, or bus ride from the end of our street, takes you to the Seaford rail station from which the new electric service whisks you into Adelaide for the day. Restaurants - Several of the local restaurants get very booked up on weekends, especially over public holidays. So to avoid disappointment we suggest that you may want to make restaurant bookings a week or so before your stay with us. Other Things to NoteGuest room 1 has a programmable safe for securing passports and other valuables. Both guests rooms can be key-locked while you are away. Drinking water is provided by a Puratap water filter system. Our house in extremely eco-friendly, running on solar power, solar hot water and the recycling of all water through an enviro-cycle system. We aim to minimise our carbon footprint and exercise great respect for the wonderful natural habitats around us.

              'Sea La Vie' is a beautiful beachfront home situated on the cliffs of gorgeous Sellicks Beach. The views from the house are spectacular, the rugged coastline sprawls south to Myponga Beach and to the north the gentle rolling waves break on to the white sandy beach of Silver Sands. The hills views at the rear are equally beautiful, a tapestry of grape vines, olive trees, native plantations where farmland rolls down to the Gulf of St Vincent. This well-appointed holiday house is set up perfectly for everyone to enjoy all the creature comforts of a home and plenty of room to escape when the children want to play or quiet time is needed. The home easily accommodates two families or a group of up to 12 people. The kitchen is well appointed with a dishwasher, large fridge and plenty of crockery to cope with the larger group. Upstairs is the hub of the house, with a large living area with TV, dining area (seating for 10), sitting area, main bedroom with queen bed, WIR and ensuite, second bedroom with queen bed, adjoining guest bathroom, front and rear balconies with tables, chairs and BBQ. Sellicks Beach is a great central location to explore the Fleurieu Peninsula Region with most attractions within a 50 minute drive including the city of Adelaide. A short drive to the quaint town of Willunga, reknown for its fabulous farmers market is a great place to stock up on local produce for your visit. The McLaren Vale wine region is within 20 minutes drive and boasts in excess of 60 wineries, the area is well catered for with beautiful restaurants, cafes, galleries and wine experiences to be enjoyed. Great bushwalking tracks within the local conservation parks are short a short drive away. Closer to home our own famous 'Victory Hotel' is just up the hill. Or of course, stay in and create your own restaurant experience and dine on the balcony with some of the most spectacular sunsets as you watch the sun melt into the sea.

Situated 200m from the cliff tops at Sellicks Beach- the southern most stretch of Adelaide's suburban beachside- this light, airy, two-storey home is found in what was once the original settlement of Sellicks Beach. We produce our own electricity, hot water and, for most of the year, run on collected rainwater. The home sleeps 8 adults in four bedrooms, added to which are 2 living areas, 2 bathrooms and 3 showers. (Please refer to 'Other things to note' for booking guidelines). Upstairs a generous, well-equipped kitchen with stone bench tops overlooks a large, light-filled living area, taking best advantage of the views, over treetops and out to sea. Quality furnishings; a generous L-shaped KING leather lounge and solid timber JAPHY dining table, add to the comfort and ease in this upstairs dining-lounge space. A gas BBQ on the upstairs decking alongside the kitchen, provides an easy alternative for outdoor cooking and dining. Downstairs, a generous space with polished concrete floors, includes a second relaxed lounge area, three double bedrooms, a modern bathroom with a freestanding bath and a separate toilet. An expansive, decked balcony with separate access from dining, lounge and master bedroom surrounds the upstairs living areas. Ground level decking provides another space for retreat overlooking the lawn and orchard. Louvre-windows, ceiling fans in all lounges and bedrooms, reverse cycle air conditioning and underfloor heating in winter are aimed at creating all year round comfort. We have an eco-friendly place with solar hot water, solar electricity generation and double glazing as well as a north-facing living area which shades from summer sun and allows winter sunshine in. And, of course, the beautiful beach. Getting AroundOn a suburban bus route, but a long way from the city, this has the best of both. A car is really required for travelling around and seeing the area, but the bus stops out the front. Other Things to NoteBooking Info: Minimum 3 night stay excluding December to January holiday break where there is a minimum stay of 7 nights until school goes back at which point the minimum stay again becomes applicable. Nearby..... worth a read: A short 200m walk down adjacent lane to the sea and a General Store; good fish, chips and hamburgers and basic groceries. 5 min drive away to very reliable dining at the Victory Hotel, with an excellent wine list. Be sure to book. 10 min drive to Old Coach Road: Aldinga Bakery and nearby emerging strip with very good cafes and Miss Gladys On Sea. Head down Port Rd (off Old Coach Rd) to Star of Greece restaurant and the rugged coastline at Pt Willunga. Supermarkets are also 10-15 minutes drive away in the more recently established reaches of Aldinga Beach. Southern Vales wineries are all within easy reach. For overseas and interstate visitors, Sellicks Beach is on the road to Kangaroo Island - less than an hour from the ferry.

Our property is located 10 minutes from the Mclaren Vale wine region, one of South Australia's premier wine producing areas.
