The SpaceA traditional fibro beach house, this charming retreat has everything a loved beach house should! A hammock, ocean views, expansive balcony, log fire, undercover outdoor BBQ area, herb garden..... What more could you want ? If you have any questions..... please ask :) Once you have paid in full, you will be given the code to a keysafe which is on the premises. Our check-in time is 3pm and check-out is 10am. If the house is booked before or after you, these times are strict (to allow for thorough cleaning), if not booked, we are very happy to provide early check-in and late check-out. You will have the property to yourself. We are not too far away if you need anything. You will need to BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS; this includes Bath & Beach towels, hand towels and teatowels. We provide bed linen (sheets & pillow cases) as well as doonas & pillows. A Quiet neighbourhood except in the middle of summer. The beach is a 5 minute walk away as is the Otway National Park. This is the perfect base for exploring the Great Ocean Road & Otways. If you love the great outdoors you are right amongst it all here! You will need a car. Some local attractions can be accessed by foot, the local businesses consist of a Café/General Store & a Pub. The entry level bedroom, off the living area has 1x Double Bed & 1x Bunk The downstairs bedroom (yellow room) has 1x Queen Bed & 1x Single Bed, this room has external access and is lockable. The SpaceWye River is a unique little oasis in the Otway Rangers. It is just 20 minutes past Lorne on the Great Ocean Road, and 30 minutes to Apollo Bay. The coast offers great surf, swimming, fishing and appealing scenic walks in the Otway Rangers. Koalas, Bush Wallabies, Echidnas, King parrots, Kookaburras, Cockatoos and many other species of birds are in abundance, in this beautiful part of the world.             The SpaceThe moment you arrive, you enter a unique space. A curved staircase lined with grass paper. A studio just for two, with King bed raised to look out to sea. Huge Japanese Shoji screens for privacy. A large couch with fluffy cushions in front of a wood fire. A cosy day bed to gaze out to sea. On the balcony, you feel the roar of the waves just 100 metres away. You can feast the senses and experience Zen. The steam shower and aromatherapy vapour purifies the skin, then you can sit in the huge double spa looking out to sea, with a glass of sparkling. Then walk to the beach a minute away and breathe in the smell of the sea and feel the sand on your toes. Back in the studio you will find exotic surprises like the original Japanese art, the Japanese china, japanese fabrics, origami, books and CDs about Japan. There are little comforts like the huge fluffy towels, the warm robes, the coffee machine, boiling water and teas. For those who like to travel with their dog companions, we are pet friendly. There is a side deck and the front balcony. Living in nature, you will be visited by birds on the balcony who will come to feed from your hands. If you are lucky, a local Koala may wander past or sit in a local tree. There is in house free wifi and the local Telstra mobile runs very fast 4G data. We have a free loan phone if needed. The NeighborhoodEATING We are blessed with a modern cafe. 'The General' has the best coffee on the Great Ocean Road! Its own pastrychef bakes bread most days and makes French pastries to die for. It also has breakfast and lunch and has a wide range of food and supplies, all high quality. People come from far and wide just for the coffee. The famous Wye Beach Hotel has great food every day of the year. You can sit on the balcony with one of the best views on the Ocean Road. BEACHES AND WALKS You can walk from Sea Zen in Separation Ck along the beach to Wye River and walk back along the pretty Paddys Path. Surfing is popular, and there is excellent fishing off the rocks. For those who like to walk further, there are rainforest walks. You'll often spot a Koala, and you can walk for miles along the good bush road. Getting AroundWe are just over 2 hours from Melbourne by car. We are on the prettiest part of the Great Ocean Road, with spectacular views from the cliffs along the way. We send you our welcome pack after you book with a map to make it easy to find us. Other Things to NoteOur guests consistently tell us the photographs understate the space - it is hard to adequately show a unique space like Sea Zen. They also tell us they would have liked to stay longer, so be generous with how long you stay. It is a wonderful place to strengthen a relationship or to have a special celebration. Fully self-contained with plenty of extras – a home away from home! Just 100 metres to the beach. Pets welcome, yard fenced. Cosy wood fire for your comfort. The Cottage is under the same roof as the Unit-for-Two (available separately or together). Keren's Place is a warm and rustic timber dwelling built in 2001 which has provided a beautiful space for guests and their families to relax in, many of whom return every year. Because it is not new, there are usual signs of wear and tear so it is more of a homely environment, rather than an immaculate streamlined showpiece. Guest AccessAccess to the 2BR Cottage is via the gate to the right of the house, and up the ramp. At the back there is a large yard with lawn and garden, fully fenced and secure for children or pets. It has a hammock in the back yard for your enjoyment. Entry is via a mobile phone app which is provided to guests on the morning of their departure. Interaction with GuestsWe are just a phone call away and will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is relaxing and comfortable. Getting AroundKeren's Place is a great base for day trips to tourist attractions along the Great Ocean Road. Other Things to NoteTelstra mobile reception is good, Optus and other providers have very limited coverage. There are public phones at Wye river, also more mobile access at the point beyond the Wye River Store. During fire season we recommend that guests without Telstra phones purchase a Telstra pre-paid mobile so that we can contact them in case of an emergency. Our guests bring their own linen (sheets, pillowcases, towels, tea towels, also hand towels and bath mats if required). If you are travelling or this is difficult for you to do, please let us know and we can provide linen for you at an extra charge. The 2BR Cottage is separated from the Unit-for-Two by a thick timber wall. Some sounds may come through and guests are asked to be mindful of noise if there are tenants in the adjoining area. Both fully self-contained and separate from each other with private BBQs and outdoor areas. We know that pets are a part of the family, and they are very welcome at Keren's Place. Because Keren's Place is on tank water, guests are asked to be water-wise, especially during the summer months.

            The SpaceYou cant beat waking up to the view and you can hear the sea from the house which is a soothing backdrop to your getaway. The best feature are the views from the main rooms and deck looking over the Separation Creek beach, part of the Wye River township. There are lots of parrots and galahs and kookaburras who come to visit and the whole area has a relaxed and quiet ambience. Behind the house is a leafy bush outlook . You can lie in bed in the main bedroom and see the waves. There are great views from the elevated front deck but at the same time there is easy flat access from the other side with no flights of steps to climb You can walk to the beach from the house ( about 300 metres) and also walk along Paddy's path to the Wye river store for scrumptious bread and home baked croissants The Wye River and Separation creek township has the amenities of a great store and café and also the pub for meals on the deck there in summer or around the fire in winter. It is surrounded by forest rich in birds. The Great Ocean Road is a perfect place to explore - see Koalas at Kennett River and glow worms at Grey river reserve. The 12 Apostles are 90 minutes away and Lorne and Apollo bay are 15-20 minutes away for a taste of the Big smoke Unlike many houses in Wye River and Separation Creek there is plenty of flat parking on the level ground behind the house and it is level into the house apart from the lintel at the door - it is wheelchair accessible with help getting over the lintel. This great when carrying in your things The whole house has been renovated with polished floors in main rooms and now has three bedrooms - one main with king bed, one room with 3 single bunks and a double bed bunk, and a third bedroom with a double bed - this room has a lovely bush view. The house can sleep 9 if all beds are in use. There are built in wardrobes in every room. There are heaters in every room and also an air conditioner in the living room which can cool two of the bedrooms as well. There is an open fireplace too. The living room has a sound system that takes cds plus Ipod docking station for your music. Foxtel has been installed too There is a new kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, microwave and induction cooktop, and a separate euro laundry with a spare fridge. The windows are mostly double glazed for comfort too. The bathroom has a large tiled shower, new vanity and a WC Guest AccessThe whole house is for use apart from a couple of locked owners cupboards and sheds There are two driveways and the entry for most cars is the second driveway which is labelled with a no 25 Interaction with GuestsThere is a cleaner in the town - number in book on bench, who can help plus I am always available by phone for questions The NeighborhoodWye River/Separation Creek is situated in the middle of the Great ocean road, with easy access to the towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay as well as the beaches and coastline . See Koalas at Kennett river / grey river reserve and the glow worm caves are nearby too Lorne is close for restaurants - 15 min drive and there are some near Apollo bay too The Pub and café at the shop are great too Getting AroundYou will probably have arrived by car and there is plenty of parking on the property on flat ground near the entry door - which is great when you are bringing in bags or shopping. This is quite unusual in Wye River and Separation Creek but so convenient.             The SpaceOur holiday rental Wye Not Escape (completed December 2015) is now open for holidaymakers. Comfortably sleeping 12, Wye Not Escape is a fully equipped double story holiday house with amazing sea views that has everything you need for a relaxing beach escape. Located in Wye River / Separation Creek (15 minutes south of Lorne) this idyllic setting is just a stone’s throw from the beach and a short walk to the Wye Beach Hotel and Wye General Store and Café. Downstairs features a master bedroom with queen sized bed, single bunks and ensuite. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the third bedroom has two sets of single bunks (sleeping four). All bedrooms feature large built in robes. Downstairs also features a second lounge room with a 55-inch wall mounted TV and queen sized sofa bed, sleeping an extra two people. This room is great for the kids and features a media centre full of movies for all ages. You will also find the main bathroom with shower and bath, European laundry and separate toilet on the ground level. A ducted vacuum cleaner features on both floors, making cleaning a breeze. Upstairs is perfect for entertaining and features a large deck area, kitchen and open plan dining and lounge room. With a wall mounted 65-inch television, media centre, a very comfy modular leather lounge suite and window seats with beautiful sea views, you may never want to leave the lounge area! That is until you step outside onto the vast deck. With an outdoor setting for 10, BBQ/Grill and amazing sea and Otway views, you may decide to spend all your time there. Bluetooth speakers feature inside and out, just hook your device up to the speakers and you can play your own music. The fully equipped kitchen features a butler’s pantry, plenty of bench space, dishwasher and servery window out to the deck. There is even a bar fridge and coffee machine – everything you need to make your holiday complete. The dining area boasts a large timber dining and enough seats for a dinner party for 12. The property is child friendly with a highchair and port-a-cot on request. Guest AccessThe whole house is available to rent and sleeps 12 comfortably. Lorne is approximately 15 minutes drive north and Apollo Bay is approximately 30 minutes drive south of Separation Creek. Howie's Beach is approximately 100metres from the property and the Wye Beach Hotel and Wye General Store and Cafe is a 5-10 minute walk.
