Bar area can be used and can be arranged to be open if guests wish to make use of it in the evenings. The NeighborhoodGambia in general is full of really friendly people. We are not in a tourist area and so you will experience the 'real' Gambia in all its glory! Getting AroundAbuko Nature Reserve is located conveniently on the Brikama Highway. Local 'Gilly Gilly' minibuses can be hailed from here to get around. Alternatively we can arrange local taxis for you. Car hire is encouraged, but only for the brave!

Most first time guests appreciate being supported when they first arrive until they have built up confidence in getting around. The NeighborhoodThis is a local (URL HIDDEN) is quiet and peaceful and a green almost rural type of environment. Goats and sheep graze on the grassy area outside the compound. The locals are friendly but never intrusive and the children absolutely charming Getting AroundYou can get around by bike (hire available), taxi (we have our regular, reliable driver Ousman)or public bus/car which is very cheap once you get to understand the system a little and I am always willing to help.Going further afield there are a host of public vehicles which are very cheap if a little slow. Other Things to NoteThe compound has electricity with lights and sockets in each (URL HIDDEN) drinking water is also on tap. The best time to visit is between November and April both in terms of the climate and the cheapest available flights.I am also there myself at that time and can help to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.Guests are, of course, welcome to stay outside of those dates but the rain from June to October makes access to the compound difficult and my absence means things may not run so smoothly.

                            My wife and I have been visiting The Gambia for many years, we were visiting so often we eventually decided to buy our own property here in 2009. After an extensive search we chose this due to the location which we find more relaxed than the hustle of the main Senegambia tourist area, yet it's only 10 minutes away in a taxi. The first thing we had done is to have a pool built, it is private and not shared with any other properties. Located just off Kairaba Avenue 5 minute walk from the traffic lights. The availability calendar usually looks busy as I have some regular visitors that often book for long time periods. Electricity - electricity is not included with the rental price, tokens can be purchased locally for use with a meter system, typical weekly cost ÂŁ20.00. Gas - gas is included in the rental price, the cooker runs on a small gas bottle which normally lasts several weeks, if the gas runs out you will need to advise the security guard who will arrange a replacement at no cost. Cleaning - house and pool cleaning are included 3 times a week within the rental price. Airport transfers - these are not included in the rental piece but can be arranged at a cost of ÂŁ30.00 return. Discounts available for bookings of 3 weeks and longer, please enquire. The ideal destination for families friends or couples. Wonderful weather combined with stunning surroundings make for the ideal holiday getaway! With so much to see and do in the area you will never get bored! Kairiba Avenue has lots of shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walking distance. Paradise beach and Fajara golf course are within a 30 minute walk or short tax ride.                                   This house is located in a really nice and quiet area, and the best thing about it is that it is less than 400 meters from the Yundum – wellingara coastal road. The house is really charming outside, the interior of the house is extremely nice and comfortable. It has two floors. On the ground floor there is an en-suite room, a cozy living room and a kitchen with all the modern equipment you would expect, as well as dining room and a store. Upstairs consists of one master bedroom, three large single bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a state of the art Jacuzzi. There is also a terrace/balcony for sunbathing and barbecues. The house is a 5 minute drive from the beach, and near Senegambia and Kariaba beach hotel, where amenities such as restaurants, clubs are. It is also 10/15 from the main airport in Yundum. The beach at Cape Point is stunning - a wide sweep of golden sand that seems to stretch into the distance; and like the area in general, it tends to be that little bit quieter than Kololi or Kotu.
