The SpaceYou will love this beautiful 2 bedroom (+queen sleep sofa), two bath country cabin just off hwy 227 on over 700 feet of trail creek front! The master bedroom has a huge pine log queen bed, charming antique library table writing area, lounge sofa and it's own lovely pine bathroom with a soaking tub. The oak bedroom is charming and colorful with a big queen pine sleigh bed and oak leaf decor. For additional guests the big red sofa in the living room folds out to become a queen size bed. I recently finished the mantel for the infrared fireplace in the living room - which makes it oh so cozy and romantic! The kitchen is fully functional, bright and pleasant. It has an oven, microwave and jennaire cook top stove with a grill. A big coffee pot and coffee presses for two and four are on hand as well as a nice counter top pancake grill and a waffle iron. There is a small electric grill outside the backdoor as well as big propane grill by the shop. The large fire pit, at the far end of the yard makes a great gathering place for visiting and cooking marshmellows and such. You will love the BIG deep star view Cal Spa HOT TUB. Stretch out and turn on the jets or share the view with a friend or two or five... It's located in the oak grove, just across the drive way and behind the shop. Follow the solar lights and take the flash light - hanging next to the front door. I highly recommend the seasonal 'pool' in the creek for a quick cool down - about 150 steps from the front porch. (May - early August and Late September - October) Take one of the big soft bath sheets with you! Between November and April - it may look more like a river than a creek... The entire cabin from the handcrafted shutters to the plentiful art is beautiful and comfortable. We have central air and heat as well as a very realistic infrared fire place for the charm and romance factor... and the creek and grounds are truly awesome! I love a creek like a 7 year old does and this one is super fun! It has a very wide smooth slate rock base with deep channels and pools. In the winter and spring it looks like a river but it dwindles with the warmer weather and you can walk right out on it and play between the deeper flows - until it almost stops completely in late August to return with the first September rains...nice and full now in April and every thing is green and gold again! Enjoy lots of cool reptiles, water lizards, turtles, crayfish, frogs and small fish... Elsewhere on the grounds you will spot deer, turkeys, rabbits and such. Right now a pair of wild geese are nesting right across the creek from the pump house. Kids and dogs love it here! We have hundreds of feet of historic rock walls, oak and pine groves interspersed with maples, mountain ash, manzanita, madrone, cedar and mountain scenery. The spring and fall colors are breathtaking! This is an optimal base location for hunting, fishing, rafting, hiking or cross country skiing. You will be 10 minutes from Shady Cove, Oregon and five minutes from the Rogue River. Take a Hike to Mills Creek Falls just east of Lost Creek Lake with just a 20 min drive through some of the prettiest country you will ever see! In 1 hour you can be at a play at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival a Jacksonville Britt Festival show, an Umpqua waterfall hotspring or incomparable Crater Lake! You may however like it right here so well you will just stay put and relax. Dozens of varieties of wild flowers grow right here on the grounds along the creek and trails and in the meadow. Coffee, creamer, microwave popcorn and a large selection of herbal and traditional teas are included. Check in 3PM and check (EMAIL HIDDEN)e on down - everyone will love it here. Guest AccessGuests will have the cabin and immediate grounds / yard all to them selves. You may have to share the creek and trails with me, my husband and a friend or two but no one will intrude on your space or privacy. We all may use the hot tub which is located in the oak grove, behind the shop. Interaction with GuestsWe give guests all the room and privacy they would like. Just give us a call if you need something or have a question. I will be happy to give you a guided tour upon request. We may be staying in the studio cabin out behind the pump house. The NeighborhoodMy favorite thing about the neighborhood is - there is none - we are in the country. One neighbor has 5 acres, one has 30 acres and one has 20 acres. Nice people. Getting AroundThis is well outside the public transportation area. Other Things to NoteCheck - in is after 3 PM, unless other wise arranged. Check out is by 12 Noon. Bring clothing for hiking and water shoes or boots and bathing suits for the creek and hot tub (or not).

The SpaceThere are many hiking opportunities here, with three waterfalls within a 1/4 mile walk through the woods. Two fire lookouts exist nearby and can be reached with the proper vehicle, affording some great views. Both the historical hotel and the community hall are within a 150 yards, which has made this apartment very agreeable for those who are gathering with hotel guests or perhaps attending an event at the hall...... We are surrounded by National Forest, and other timber lands as well as being at the headwaters of the Rogue River, known for rafting and fishing opportunities. This area is well-suited for bicycling, cross-country skiing/snowshoeing. Guest AccessThe apt. is on the ground floor. The space above it is attic/storage space and is not inhabited. You have your separate entry and drive-way on the east side of the house. Your front door faces south and away from the street towards timberland. Our front door and living area are on the west side of the home. A little used area separates both living spaces. You are welcome to wander on the grounds and there is a campfire pit should you care to use it. Although we are in a neighborhood, our property line borders endless miles of un-fenced wilderness, much of it on old logging roads, should you care to go exploring. Pearsony Falls can be reached by going directly south from your apt. door. It is about 300 yards away. If you are not afraid of crossing a well traveled old log just below the falls, there is a wide trail that leads you to either the store or down to the North Fork of the Rogue River and the Avenue of the Boulders. Interaction with GuestsWe will try to be available for you when possible. Because we must run many of our errands in the town of Medford, which is 50 miles away, we cannot guarantee that we will always be on site at all times. We will do our best to be here for your arrival. Come knocking when you wish to announce your arrival or need assistance should we not greet you first. The NeighborhoodA small neighborhood within walking distance of all the town amenities. At present good food can be gotten at the Prospect Pizza parlor, the Prospect Historical Hotel, The Prospect Cafe, the Gorge Restaurant, and Becky's Cafe in Union Creek, (11 miles up the road on Hwy 62, going towards Crater Lake from Prospect), is also popular and well known for it's huckleberry pies. We have a small grocery/liquor store, (well-run, but, has limited produce and meats), laundromat, gas station, library, post office and four churches in the heart of town. Five miles south of the center of town is the Gorge bar and restaurant. Stewart State Park is ten miles south on Hwy 62, with marina, swimming beach, and restaurant. Getting AroundWe have no public transportation here. This area is well suited to bicycling and motorbiking. One can ride for miles with beautiful scenery. If you care to fly in with a small aircraft, we do have a quiet state airport within walking distance of everything. Other Things to NoteYou must be aware that we sometimes have a couple of feet of snow during the winter. Salter Lane is not paved but is regularly graded. The asphalt road is 150 yards from our house.

You will love this beautiful 2 bedroom (+queen sleep sofa), two bath Country Cabin in the woods just off hwy 227 on 700+ feet of trail creek front! The master bedroom has a huge pine log queen bed, charming antique library table writing area, lounge sofa and it's own lovely pine bathroom with a soaking tub. The oak bedroom is charming and colorful with a big queen pine sleigh bed and oak leaf decor. For additional guests the red sofa in the living room folds out to a queen size bed. I recently finished the mantel for the infrared fireplace in the living room - which makes it oh so cozy and romantic! The kitchen is fully functional, bright and pleasant. It has an oven, microwave and jennaire cook top stove with a grill. A big coffee pot and coffee presses for two and 4 are on hand as well as a nice counter top pancake grill and waffle iron. Also find blender, crockpot and a small food processor. There is a small electric grill outside, a big propane bar-be cue grill and a fire pit for gathering and toasting marshmellows and such. In the oak grove, just across the drive way and behind the shop - check out our new BIG HOT TUB with great star view, recently screened for more privacy. I highly recommend the seasonal 'pool' in the creek for a quick cool down - about 150 steps from the front porch. (May - early August and Late September - October) There is also a 16" swimming pool for May - October use. Take one of the big soft bath sheets with you! Out past the fire pit is a short trail to the meadow - a lovely place to walk. The entire cabin from the handcrafted shutters to the plentiful art is beautiful and comfortable - but the creek and grounds are truly awesome! I love a creek like a 7 year old does and this one is super fun! It has a very wide smooth slate rock base, a beautiful lava flow... with deep channels and pools. In the spring it looks like a river but it dwindles with the warmer weather and you can walk right out on it and play between the deeper flows - until it may almost stops completely in late August to return with the first September / October rains. Enjoy lots of cool reptiles, water lizards, turtles, crayfish, frogs and small fish... Elsewhere on the grounds you will spot deer, turkeys, geese, rabbits and such. Kids and dogs love it here! It works great as a romantic get away, family fun spot or Hunting / Fishing base. Dogs welcome! We have hundreds of feet of historic rock walls, oak and pine groves interspersed with maples, mountain ash, manzanita and mountain scenery. The fall and spring colors are breathtaking! This is an optimal location for hunting, fishing, rafting, hiking or cross country skiing and trips to Crater Lake. You will be 10 minutes from Shady Cove, Oregon and five minutes from the Rogue River. Take a Hike to Mills Creek Falls just east of Lost Creek Lake with just a 20 min drive through some of the prettiest country you will ever see! In 1 about hour you can be at a play at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival a Jacksonville Britt Festival show, an Umpqua waterfall hot spring. Seven Feathers Casino or incomparable Crater Lake! You may however like it right here so well you will just stay put and relax. Dozens of varieties of wild flowers grow right here on the grounds along the creek and trails and in the meadow. Coffee and a large selection of herbal and traditional teas are included as well as lots of Microwave popcorn! Basic condiment, cooking spray and spices are on hand/ included also. Check in 3PM and check out at 12 Noon, unless otherwise arranged. Come on down - everyone will love it here.

The Meadow House is named for the expansive meadow it is sited on, and for it’s amazing views and surrounding abundance of natural beauty and wildlife. Located in the rural Cascade mountains, (1 mile from the Rogue River, 28.9 miles from Crater Lake south entrance), this 2-story house is nestled between old timber forest woodlands and meadow. At the end of a private drive, it rests on 100 private acres of Protected Wildlife Habitat Area. Available during all four seasons, the Meadow House is as spectacular in the snow covered winter as it is in the warm weather of summer. INTERIOR. The Meadow House (part of the historic Katydid Ranch of the early 1900's), has been rebuilt with custom details throughout and is a lovely way to enjoy extra creature comforts indoors while taking in gorgeous views of meadows and mountains through its many windows. Hardwood floors throughout, custom cabinetry, granite counters, large tiled bathrooms, a wood-burning fireplace (living room) and a large bright kitchen (set up for convenience of meal preparation) provide quality comfort. Take your pick of the upstairs spacious master (king sized bed-new and very comfortable) or the downstairs corner bedroom (queen sized bed-also new and comfy) which is located next to a full bath. Additionally, there is a small private sleeping room located off the upstairs enclosed balcony which we dub the "eagle's nest". It's a small loft room with a double/full bed and works for a single person or two teenagers that share a bed. The Eagle's nest is small and probably not comfortable for an adult couple. The house is in pristine condition, designed for comfort, and offers views all around. The wrap around deck is great for reading, relaxing, or barbecuing. It's also wonderful at day end for enjoying a glass of wine and waiting for the wildlife to visit. OUTSIDE. Just outside the front door, guests will find the entrance to the “pinecone trail” which leads up a small hill to a secluded sanctuary perfect for star-gazing (the night skies are magnificent!) or side-by-side hammock-style relaxation, and a cozy camp-fire pit. It's a very short walk back to the house if you decide to spread out your tablecloth for a romantic picnic on the knoll. Throughout the summer, the ranch vegetable and berry gardens are available to guests. Pick enough for your for a special treat of sweet strawberries or wild blackberries. WINTER. On a winter day, you might see wild turkeys and deer browsing in the meadow and then catch the elk coming in for moonlight grazing after dusk. The winter months bring clear cold crisp weather and there is nothing more gorgeous than when the fresh blanket of snow covers the meadow. That’s when it’s time to cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace and relax as you watch the gentle white flakes fall. Crater Lake National Park offers free ranger-guided snow-shoe walks on weekends and even loan you the snow-shoes! Snow mobiling and cross-country skiing are popular too. We love spotting all of the animal tracks in the snow! SPRING. Wildflowers, bulbs, and by the end of May, the Iris are blooming. The meadow grasses are lush with springs showers and warming weather. A gorgeous time of year to visit. SUMMER. During the summer months the meadow is shared with the ranch horses for daytime grazing who return to the barn at day end just in time for other wildlife visitors to arrive. FALL. End of summer visitors are invited to indulge in the abundance of wild-blackberry picking (usually beginning by mid-August and lasting through most of September) If you can actually get the sweet berries in a bucket (supplied) you might decide to make a pie later on, or serve them over ice-cream. Yum! If not, just eat them off the bush and enjoy! Relaxing is an important all-season activity, but not to the exclusion of hiking the numerous trails, bird/wildlife spotting, horse shoes, mountain biking, lawn golf, visiting the ponds, or checking out the old Boise-Cascade tree nursery on the property. Guests are welcome, if they wish, to head over to the barn at feeding time to enjoy that special time of day with the horses and say hello to the owners whose home is also situated on the meadow; close enough to be available for any unexpected needs and far enough for privacy.
