    A quiet and peacefully place to get back to nature and explore the beauty of Vermont. Nestled in the hills of Sharon it is a great central location to venture out into the Green Mountains. Weather you like to ski, fish, hick , motor cycle, bicycle, tube down the White River or just drive around and site see you will enjoy staying with us. The Studio is an open space design and although there is no lock off bed rooms it still provides for separate sleeping arrangements. There are two baths, one with a washer dryer and a nice screened in back porch to sit in and gaze into the woods. Kitchen facilities allow you to eat in or visit some of the excellent restaurants in the area. We look forward to having you stay with us. Peace, John and Eileen Centrally located between Historic Woodstock Vermont and Hanover New Hampshire. Explore Billings Farm museum or the campus of Dartmouth College. Ski at Killington, Pico, or Suicide Six all within a 45 min. drive or less. Hick in the Green Mountains, fish in or tube down the White River, snow shoe right out the back door or just relax with a good book. If golf is your game there are many fine courses within twenty min. drive. Plenty of parking on property.

Come and work on your songs and even do some recording. If music isn't your passion then just come for the fun and relaxation you can only find in the hills of Vermont. In the winter months you can snow shoe right out the back door or try your skills on any of the ski areas within a thirty minute drive or less.     The SpaceRomantic hide away. Post & Beam Studio Apartment with beautiful beams and natural wood floors. The apartment has its own entrance, up a natural wood staircase, so you can be completely private. The Studio is a large room with a 14' cathedral ceiling. It has a large lounge area with two large Ikea sofas, and two easy charis, with foot stools. There is a large t.v. and a section of dvd s if you feel like watching a film. Heating in winter is a modern gas wall mounted fire. If you need extra warmth there is also a hot blanket on the bed in the winter for those cosy winter nights. Air conditioning is supplied for the warmer summer months.A fully equipped new kitchen is also included, with gas hob and electric oven, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, and fridge with small ice box. Plates, cups and eating utensils are provided. There is also a dining table and 4 chairs .Hair dryer in bedside draw.The hallway leads into the newly fitted, private bathroom. It has a bath and shower, .and convenient height WC and hand basin.Hot water is on demand, as much as you like. Towels and toiletries are provided.The sleeping arrangements are flexible with easily room for 4 if you want to share.A Queen bed is included with bedding. We can also supply cots/beds for 2 additional guests with bedding. NO PETS or SMOKING allowed sorry. The apartment is not suitable for young babies, or small children who require supervision. The apartment is not equipped for the elderly or disabled persons who are not fully mobile, due to the stairs, sorry. There is a NON SMOKING policy in force.For the summer months,there are 15 acres of woodland for walks. One other sport people like is the Kayaking on the white river or nearby Silver Lake state park, which is in Barnard. We have 2 kayaks you can use, but only if you are qualified to use them. It is quiet and peaceful. There are two local stores in Sharon and a gas station. The nearest ski resort is Woodstock and Killington. VT. there is wonderful snow shoeing on our 15 acres, or if you prefer cross country skiing, Woodstock country club is within driving distance. It takes us about half an hour to get there by car. Restaurants and places to eat are Lebanon NH , which has a variety of restaurants. Woodstock VT, very selective for the romantic at heart. Norwich VT, pub and restaurant. Hanover NH, a good section of restaurants. Queechee, VT. Simon Pearce restaurant and glass making shop, which is beautiful and many others. All an easy distance by car. But remember to book early for a table. Owners can provide telephone numbers for the restaurants. If you did not book early enough, Richardson's Tavern, at the Woodstock Inn, is first come first served. Come and see the fall in September, we get the leaf peepers from the 3rd week in September. The foliage is so beautiful at this time of the year. There is a good cell phone reception in the area. If you feel like bringing your lap top, there is also good internet access available. Your free to explore the grounds and walk in the woods, use the pool or hot tub. All bedrooms are furnished with their own bathrooms, closets and flat screen TV with cable. Cook in the farm house kitchen with granite countertops, gas stovetop, double ovens, dishwasher and all the utensils to cook the perfect meal. Eat in the dining room at a large farm table that accommodates eight comfortably and has a beautiful view of the Green Mountains. Gather in the Keeping room, where we have board and card games, or watch a movie on the large flatscreen tv with blu-Ray/DVD player. Sit on the back patio and grill on the new BBQ, or just sit and relax in the patio chairs and take in the green mountain view. Pack light and use the washer and dryer located on the main floor in the mud room. Guest AccessGuests will have access to entire furnished home, two car garage and outdoor spaces. Back patio, two swimming ponds, and plenty of privately maintained trails for hiking, mountain biking, skiing or snowshoeing are also available right outside the home for your enjoyment. Interaction with GuestsWe know you like your privacy, for that reason, will be available by phone, text or email. The NeighborhoodClose to it all but away from it all. Norwich, Hanover, Woodstock all within a 30 min drive. Royalton, South Royalton, Stafford, Tunbridge are all close by and within a fifteen min drive. Enjoy Quintessential Vermont and all it has to offer. Getting AroundYou will need an ALL WHEEL drive vehicle to get to Highland Farm. It is required Oct-May as the road to the farmhouse is quite steep. Other Things to NoteDish Network and Wifi internet is available at the home at no extra cost. Cell phone reception works great everywhere at the farm and farmhouse. Which is very rare in a remote setting like this. High chair and portable crib are available at the farmhouse for your convenience. Grocery services are offered for an extra fee. If you would like to have the kitchen fridge and pantry stocked with your favorite food items the day you arrive, please let me know!

    The SpaceThis is tiny living! Please note, there is no plumbing, but spring water is provided in large jugs. Outhouse is the only facility. And the access to the loft is by a ladder. Families welcome, but not really recommended for small children that cannot climb ladder on their own. Tent space available in the surrounding area for additional fee. We live on the premesis up the road. Guest AccessOver 1200 acres of forest, and access to Vermont State land, the White River Wildlife Management Unit (WMU). Trails for hiking and wandering, mountain biking, jeeping. Brook access, and a 1 mile drive to the White River; great swimming holes, fishing, tubing, etc all near by Interaction with Guestswe live up the hill, but are available for questions, you will have your privacy The NeighborhoodWe have one neighbor within the mile, the other few are a mile away. Getting AroundYou are definitely off the beaten path, but still close to the I-89 exit in Sharon. You will need your own transportation to reach this location. Winter months require 4WD. There are markets, general stores, and restaurants in all of the nearby towns. Transportation hubs in White River Junction, VT, Hanover, NH and Lebanon, NH. Other Things to NoteCeramic Drip coffee maker and french press available, bring your own ground beans and cream if you prefer.

    The SpaceThis is a cozy and spacious sanctuary tucked away in over 2,000 acres of forest. Songbirds and wildlife abound. This is a unique experience if you are looking to get away from it all. There is no electricity and no wi-fi, so come to unplug and enjoy time in nature or with your loved ones, friends and family (if you choose to have them on, you are sort of in cel service). Comfy queen bed and kid sized mini bunks in the upstairs loft; full sized futon downstairs. There are also options with a single camping cot and double air mattress if you have a large group, tall children, or prefer to sleep outside on the deck. Deck is a great private spot to hang out and enjoy your surroundings on. There is also a campfire pit and hiking trails. Guest Accessyou are secluded in the woods above our homestead and are surrounded by the forest. the house itself is in an open sunny location with a large deck, wood stove, and fire pit. The toilet is over a hole in the earth. Interaction with Guestsavailable for questions and supplies, but you are otherwise left to your privacy. Our friendly but curious cat or turkeys might come to meet you. We have chickens turkeys and Guinea Hens, as well as rabbits, running around our house. You are welcome to visit, children especially love coming down to see the farm animals. The Neighborhoodthis is off-grid living Although our house that we live in (below this cabin) is solar powered with well and septic, the guest cabin has neither. as you are surrounded by over 2000 acres of forest, which is home to songbirds, hawks, owls, bats, flying squirrels, chipmunks, mice, porcupine, bear, racoon, mink, fisher cat, deer, wild turkey, to name a few... Getting Aroundas far away as you may feel from it all, you are 2 miles to the center of Sharon, 5 Miles to South Royalton, and 15 miles to the Upper Valley, Woodstock, Quechee, Pomfret, Barnard, Tunbridge, Strafford, White River Junction, VT, Norwich, VT, and Hanover, NH, Lebanon, NH all within less than 30 minutes. Other Things to NoteThe loft steps are very steep. Upstairs is a Queen Bed and mini bunk beds. Downstairs is a futon. There is also a cot or air-mattress if you prefer sleeping outside. Our cat may want to spend time with you, please let us know ahead of time if this is a problem. Water is provided in jugs. Please be mindful of the value of water, we recommend you bring your own drinking water, and if your jugs run out they can be replensihed at our spicket

    Winter has commenced in Vermont, with 6 inches of snow falling the other day. We are an easy ride to Killington, Pico, and the other central Vermont ski areas as well as being close to Dartmouth. Our house accommodates as many as 8 pretty easily, even more if you can squeeze kids into beds. We would be happy to see you! We have a lovely, low-key guest house for rent on our property in Sharon, VT. The house has 3BRs/2BAs, a full kitchen, an eating area adjacent to the kitchen, a largish LR (with a sleeper sofa), and a pleasant outdoor patio with a beautiful view west to the green mountains of Vermont. There is a roughly 1 acre side yard in which kids and dogs can play without leaving the property.The kitchen is well stocked with a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave,both a Nespresso and a Keurig coffee machine, all cooking needs, etc. The house has an excellent stereo with two (count 'em) pairs of excellent speakers (one set is B&W), and wifi. We have propane heat and a pellet stove, and the house is well insulated. We are happy to welcome considerate guests who are not expecting the Four Seasons but a low key, very pleasant house in a great Vermont location. The house is about 20 minutes to Hanover, NH (home to Dartmouth), 20 minutes to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, 15 minutes to "downtown" Norwich, 35 minutes to Queechee and Woodstock, VT, 45 minutes to Montpelier, within an hour to outstanding ski locations in VT (Killington, Stowe, Pico etc.), 1.2 hours to Burlington, 1.5 hours to Manchester NH, 2 hours to Boston, 3 hours to Montreal. Also, an excellent home base to view outstanding Vermont fall foliage. We are happy to respond to inquiries and do our best to respond within 24 hours. Notes: * There are 3 BRs and a sleeper in the LR.
