The SpaceThis open concept, novaclimat (energy efficient) recent construction comfortably accommodates up to 10 people. Guest AccessGuests at the cottage can enjoy ping pong, a peddle boat, a canoe, camp fires, a nice beach and good swimming as well as on site laundry. Interaction with GuestsHost usually on site to greet guests and available by phone during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe cottage is situated close to Fort William and Oiseau Rock so guest can enjoy entertainment and interaction but also marvel at the natural unspoiled beauty of the majestic Ottawa River. Please find enclosed some information that will hopefully help you to plan and enjoy your holiday. Here is an itinerary from Ottawa – two options both are good. Please note the following correction however: after you turn right on to Downey’s Bay road, in about 1 KM you will turn left on Tapp Road and in 300M left on Horseshoe Bay Road. Go up the big hill and the cottage is on the right. The Cottages 7 and 9 share a driveway. (URL HIDDEN) Sheenboro and Fort William are located in Pontiac County so I have included naturally the Pontiac County guide (URL HIDDEN) I would suggest a visit to the Fort Coulonge Chutes and Aerial Park that is about 30 minutes from the cottage. (URL HIDDEN) In Fort Coulonge (Davidson), you will find Esprit Rafting that offers the best white water rafting around. Jim Coffey and his team are our Canadian champions. Espirt also offers international diner night. I have included the schedule and it is important to reserve ahead of time (URL HIDDEN) . There is also a really beautiful heritage home in Fort Coulonge called Spruceholme that has added a Bistro that is beautiful and affordable. (URL HIDDEN) A little closer to the cottage, you can have a great meal at Northfork in Chichester (URL HIDDEN) or at the hotel at Fort William (URL HIDDEN) To get to Fort William backtrack up Lighthouse road to the top of the hill then turn right on Sarah road and keep to the left until you come to a stop, then turn right and the Fort will be on your right. It is about a 5 minute drive. If you are interested in horseback riding there is a stable close by. (URL HIDDEN) There is dépanneur (corner store) called Chichester Groceries (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) in the village of Chichester that is well equipped and even has some very good take out Pizza. You will see it on your way to the cottage. I have included the web site for the Ottawa Valley Travel guide. Pembroke is only 40 minutes from the cottage and has all that you need, cinema, shopping, restaurants and drug stores. (URL HIDDEN) You will see that I have included some info on bears. This is not too scare you but there have been bear sightings in the area close to the cottage. This is not a common occurrence but can happen as we are in their habitat. All of this information will also be in a binder in the cottage for you to browse over leisurely on the deck with a beverage in hand. Have a great week! Other Things to NoteHello!
