The SpaceNOTE: If you are planning on bringing a child or two you must request a "special offer" for the payment to be correct. When you're not enjoying our outdoor amenities (see below,) relax on cushy leather furniture in your very own home theater with 65" HD Smart TV and sound bar. Full kitchen has new electric range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and assorted small appliances. It is fully supplied for preparing full-course meals. The bedroom features a very comfy queen bed, and we have an equally as comfortable queen inflatable in case you bring the kids although most prefer the couches! (Note: 3rd and 4th person with permission only.) The bathroom has a shower only. Guest AccessPrivate entrance is off a ground floor mudroom accessed directly from outside. All outdoor spaces are accessible to our guests with prior notification required for certain features like use of the hot tub. There is plenty of off-street parking near apartment entrance. If you're the outdoor type do take advantage of our Bocce court or horseshoe pit (both junior sized for our grandchild and her grandparents,) outdoor grilling and dining, the amazing pool with a view that doesn't quit, or relaxing hot tub. If you're so inclined try the hammock or roast s'mores around the fire pit. The grounds are completely wooded and isolated from the neighbors except in winter. Interaction with GuestsWe are generally available when renters are on the premises but you won't often see us unless you need to. We are happy to recommend all the wonderful restaurants, spectacular music and performance venues, awesome recreational sites, and everything else offered in and around Fairfield County. Our dog Golden Retriever Roonie might pay a visit but he's used to renters from 8 years of renting to vacationers in Vermont, so if you give him the cold shoulder he'll get the idea. Eventually. Do let us know if you'd like to avoid any canine interaction. The NeighborhoodThis is a prime piece of real estate the developer originally reserved for himself and a total surprise at the end of a very normal looking suburban double cul de sac. And yet we consider a drive of over 10 minutes to get anything - groceries, auto service, medical treatment, pet care, pizza, etc. a totally unacceptable inconvenience! We have a herd of deer, a rafter of turkeys including three huge toms in the spring, a pack of coyotes, a rarely-seen bobcat, and birds of every feather, including woodpeckers, owls and vultures. Getting AroundThere is bus service in this community servicing the greater Bridgeport area. The main public transportation servicing this area is Amtrak and Metro North Commuter Rail, and we'll even pick you up in neighboring Stratford schedule permitting. The closest train station is Derby, but that requires a change at Devon. Rental cars are readily available and Uber is ever present. Coming from LI you can take the ferry from Port Jeff to Bridgeport. There is a general aviation airport in neighboring Stratford, and an international aviation center in Windsor Locks outside Hartford. Has everything you need inside. Amazing pool, hot tub and view outside. Cool area too. Some fun things to do around including an awesome sports complex." I would recommend this place to all of my friends. Oh and if your in the mood the horse shoe and bocce ball court is a must." Philip, September 2016 "What a unique and special spot! I was welcomed into Pats secluded home and stayed in a beautifully decorated space downstairs. Her dog was very friendly and enjoyed the pool. What a view!" Neil, September 2016 "The beautiful scenery, the silence, the pool and Pat and Gabe's kindness! I would reccomend Pat and Gabe to anyone who is looking for the perfect getaway from the busy NYC! We had the most wonderful time in Shelton." Helena, August 2016 "Pat and Gabe we're welcoming and openly communicative upon our arrival. The space was beautiful and exactly like the photos. We enjoyed the pool with Gabe and their dog Rooney on our second evening there, a much needed escape from the intense heat we have been experiencing. Our dogs loved exploring the grounds and hanging by us in the pool enclosure. There are beaches, shopping and restaurant nearby if you decide to travel outside the home. A great getaway from our normal routine!" Diana, August 2016 "We enjoyed our stay in this cozy apartment. We were cheerful welcomed by Pat and Gabe, our hosts. They did everything to give us a warm feeling. We recommend this house to people who like a quiet surrounding and a beautiful swimming pool." Kees, August 2016 "The property is beautiful and the view is spectacular from the home. Pat has done an exceptional job decorating the place and ensuring that you have everything you need for a great home away from home." Mayuri, July 2016 "This was a lovely, peaceful, quiet and clean place to stay for a couple of nights while my son was at a day soccer camp in a nearby town. We took advantage of the pool a couple of times, and joined by their super-friendly dog at one point, which was fun. The apartment was very nicely appointed, with a lot of extras in the kitchen, which was helpful, as we did a little cooking, It was also nice and cool! We were there during a heat wave, and it was perfectly comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here, particularly if you need to be close to New Haven (about 20 minutes). Thank you, Pat and Gabe!" Caroline, July 2016 "My husband, our 3 month old and I all had a wonderful time at Pat and Gabe's. It was the perfect escape from the city. Their place was exactly as advertised and the pool with a view was awesome. Pat and Gabe were very hospitable and welcoming. Roonie their dog was great too! Although they were home for the weekend and with family over, we did not feel crowded or bothered by them at all. Our main goal was to maximize pool time and we accomplished that! We definitely would stay here again." Giselka, July 2016 "Our hosts were very welcoming. They greeted us when we arrived late on a Friday night. The apartment was very nice. It had everything we needed. It was located below their house but still felt like a very separate space. It was a bit foggy through the weekend but the views were still great. Pat even offered us an extra day due to weather, which was very kind. It's a nice apartment in a beautiful location." Matt, July 2016 "The house is absolutely beautiful and very nice if you are planning for a short trip:)! We drove from New York city and the location wasn't difficult to find! Very convenient that we ordered Planet pizza for dinner and we loved it! also we saw the best sunset ever and view from the pool is WOW! My dog Oliver loves here as well! Pat and Gabe are also a very great host they even provided us Ice cream sandwiches and S'mores at night! Love it and great experience ever! Thank you guys!" Angela, July 2016 "Pat and Gabe (and also Rooney) were fantastic hosts, and their home is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a long weekend out by the pool, used the grill to make some great dinners, and ultimately had exactly what we wanted -- a relaxing weekend away from the city. I would recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a quick getaway! The house is a quick and easy $15 uber away from Metro North, and Pat offered to pick us up! Pat and Gabe gave us our space, and made it feel like we had the place to ourselves. They were kind available when we had any questions, and even gave us some supplies to make s'mores on the grill. You get exactly what they listing shows, and it is as amazing as it looks!" Ross, July 2016 "It was a wonderful night! Pat and Gabe were welcoming, warm, and gracious. I would recommend this to anyone! Thanks guys!!" Tami, June 2016 "Our weekend spent at Pat and Gabe's place was amazing! They were so welcoming (even picked us up from the train station) The house was clean, poolside was great; we will surely come back! Ps. If you are into Italian food, go to Biagio's Osteria. It's a 10 min drive and the food is better than what I had in Italy." Levana, June 2016 "We had a great time! we brought our dog and loved the space! the pool was a lovely feature that we got to enjoy each day we were there along with a peaceful setting." Crystal, June, 2016 "Pat and Gabe (and Rooney!) were terrific hosts and immediately made me feel welcome into their home. The location was very quiet and serene. I felt like i was staying far out of the way, but yet only minutes from all the amenities you could need. The apartment was more than I could have expected and would stay here again if the need ever arises." Jere, June, 2016
