The SpaceThis cozy cottage sits along side a forgotten alley and is tucked under the arm of an ancient sitka spruce tree in the center of Sherwood's beloved Old Town. The nights are quiet and the privacy of this little house continually reminds me that I might find a little peace here. It has been called the "healing house." It is tiny, 650 square feet or thereabouts, but very comfortable and big enough for a piano in the corner to play. The kitchen is small, but enough, and equipped with everything you need to cook. I made the courtyard about 10 years ago with a recycled concrete wall and a poured patio. My neighbors honeysuckle has grown up and over the fence and I let it because it smells so good in blossom. It is very private and a nice place to spend an evening. You can make a fire or have a bbq. Come to visit or come to stay a while. Guest AccessTualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. Magness Tree Farm. Sherwood, Oregon is gateway to the Willamette Valley wine country. Also, not far, about an hour, Oregon Coast or Mt Hood. Interaction with Guests"Supported Privacy" Come and stay without interruption and we're also around if you should need anything. Just ask. The NeighborhoodSherwood Old Town is quintessential Americana from another era. What I like best, is that you can walk. Forested walking trails, Stella Olsen Park, Clancy's pub, Symposium Coffee, DaMimmo's, Painted Plate, Escape to Yoga, Rainbow Market, Railroad Antiques, and the Library all within a block or two. It is idillic. Getting AroundTri-Met Bus Line #94 stops one block from the cottage. Other Things to NoteSherwoods Farmers Market begins in summer every Saturday at Cannery Square.

During the spring, summer, and fall there are many tasting rooms and u-pick farms. Sherwood also has a farmer's market on weekends. Old Town Sherwood is a charming town with cafes and antique stores. We are situated on Chehalem Mountain and on the property you should have wonderful views of Mount Hood, St. Helens, Rainier and Adams. We also have some wildlife here. We sometimes see coyotes, deer, bald eagle, raccoons and rarely signs of bobcat and porcupine. Cougar and bear have been spotted in our area. Getting AroundWe are far from public transit and taxi service, but very close to wineries, cafes, restaurants and other attractions. We will gladly help you find the local sites and attractions. We are relatively close (20-30 minutes) to Nike, Intel, Mentor Graphics, Tektronix and other large Oregon businesses. Interaction with GuestsWe understand that privacy and relaxation are what many of our guests are seeking during their stay so we try to be low-key and quiet. At check-in we show guests their room, provide some suggestions for restaurants and wineries to visit and then let them do their thing. In the morning during breakfast some guests like to chat and learn about the area and I tell them about my favorite places. Other guests might want more solitude so I just judge how they're feeling and go with the flow. The NeighborhoodMy place is located in the country surrounded by vineyards, farms, private estates and equestrian centers. That's our neighborhood ... And it's pretty special.
