Interaction with GuestsAs a family run lodge, you will find us pottering around in the mornings, late afternoons and evenings, happily assisting guests with any questions, keeping the onsens clean, stoking the fire place, snow clearing and generally maintaining a comfortable environment.
If it's a big powder day, all bets are off though :) We'll see you out there! The NeighborhoodOne of few western run lodges that are close to town so there is no need to travel further away for dinner, drinks or karaoke or just to grab some nibbles for back at the lodge. We are also literally a hop, skip and jump from the ski lift and in prime position for a short hike up the hill for first tracks before the first lifts turn. Getting AroundWe are in the town of Akakura Onsen, so there is no need for transport unless you want to go further out. In that case, there is a shuttle that can take you to the other local resorts. Or alternatively, grab transport to one of the ski resorts further afield or to get to Myoko Kogen 15 mins away. Other Things to NoteYou can walk 450 meters downhill to Akakura Onsen's closest chair lift.
We are also centrally located to three other resorts all within a 25 minute, shuttle bus ride: Akakura Kanko, Seki Onsen and Suginohara.
Or, since Myoko is centrally located to several other "more discovered" resorts, you could even take a day bus trip to Nozawa Onsen, Hukuba, Shiga Kogen and Madarao.
A continental breakfast is included and for dinner, you can enjoy eat out in the village or utilise our self catering kitchen.
Small convenience stores are walking distance within our village Akakura Onsen or catch a 10 minute taxi ride to the small supermarket in the nearby town of Myoko Kogen to replenish your dinner grocery supplies.
Families on a budget will appreciate our convenient ski in location making it possible to duck back to the lodge kitchen for lunch.
