The lake community is quiet and very low key. Respect our neighbor's right for quiet and privacy. Parties are strictly forbidden. ** Stay within property lines and avoid using neighbor's driveways. - Strict no shoe policy indoors - help keep the house and carpets clean - Close entrance doors promptly when entering and exiting - Keep bugs and critters out! - Trash bins must be securely closed with bungee cords, and bagged to minimize odors. Bears and raccoons may create a mess and hazards to yourself & neighbors. - Trash bins should be left near the road for pickup, and securely closed with bungee cords - Septic tank and Well water in use - only flush things that 'should' go down the drain - Sinks: no grease, coffee grounds, solids -Toilets: no floss, plastics, feminine products - Swim at your own risk. You can casually walk along the River Road at any time of the day. Interaction with GuestsI live in the house and am always available to answer your questions and help you with anything you might need for your stay. The NeighborhoodThe Neighborhood has a number of restaurants within walking distance. There is a public river access a short walk up the River Road. In season there is a Farmer's Market down the street and access to river rafting, canoeing and Kayaking. Getting AroundThe closest public transportation is about 25 miles away in Port Jervis or Monticello. NJ Transit trains come all the way to Port Jervis where you can get a rental car or a taxi. Busses will also go to both places. We are 100 miles from NYC. Other Things to NoteThere is a cat in residence. Her name is Ziggy. I can accommodate small, cat friendly dogs. Smoking is allowed on the porch.

I also live in the yellow house with my cat Ziggy. The NeighborhoodBarryville is a small town in the middle of a lot of beautiful nature. It is only 100 miles from NYC, but feels like a million. It's a great place to get away from it all and relax and enjoy what nature has to offer. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation near the house, however, The NJ transit train's last stop is Port Jervis which is about 25 miles away. Rental cars are available there. There are also bus routes that will take you to Port Jervis, Montecello and Milford, Pa. all about a half hour drive away. Other Things to NoteThere is a cat resident in the house, however, small dogs are allowed.
