The SpaceParadise Cottage was originally a builder's workshop and its steep terracotta tiled red roof allowed an open space for wood working. Over time the workshop changed hands and interior walls were added and a lush private tropical garden was planted. Now the cottage is perfect for a quiet private getaway with french doors opening up onto breezy decks and aromatic gardens. We, the present owners, lived in the cottage for 2 years and so the cottage has every convenience, feels homely, and is fully equipped. The house has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double sized bed. Paradise is airconditioned. We welcome pets and as pet owners, we believe in taking pets on holidays. Your pets will adore the garden for foraging and exploring and are welcome inside as the floors are timber. There is a pet door as well as food and water bowls. We will most certainly arrange drawers and cupboard space for you but it is our family home so our belongings will still be within the house as well. ***PLEASE NOTE- the first 6 photo's are upstairs where you will be renting. The last 4 photo's are the kids rooms downstairs where we will be staying, just to give you an indication of where the kids can come and play with ours!***** Downstairs (where we will be living) has 3bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchenette so we would not need to be in your area at all, the top floor is all yours! It is a 5min walk to the local waterfront and large park Your Hosts: We have recently been on a 2 month holiday staying at mainly Airbnb homes and LOVED IT!!!! We also rented out our home on Airbnb while we were away and had the loveliest guests. We have stayed in other Airbnb homes and enjoyed the homely feel and extra amenities, instead of staying in a small hotel room for the same price. We will make our home as comfortable as possible for your stay and would be happy to help if you have any queries or need any help with best places to visit. Feel free to join in on the family fun or enjoy full privacy upstairs!

The SpaceI use Airbnb for my travels. What I like about it, and my space, is that it is in a regular neighbourhood. The people you meet as you come and go are residents, not tourists. Guest AccessYou will be able to access the whole house, except bedrooms that have not been booked by you. There is a front yard, back yard, and back deck that you may also use. I have edible plants in my backyard, so you may pick what you need for your meals. (URL HIDDEN) Interaction with GuestsI get up to a lot, but I will be available by mobile phone contact during your stay at my house. The NeighborhoodThe things I love and use in my neighbourhood are... 24/7 gym - Absolutely Flabless (they have guest passes). The little cafe near the gym - good for paleo snacks. Aldi and Woolworths are nearby - within 3 km. I have a pushbike and helmet if you want to use it to get to those stores. The natural bushland behind my house and at the end of the street - good for fresh air walks. There is a local bus stop at the top of Speight Street that will take you to the station if you want to go to the city that way. Redcliffe Peninsula is just over the bridge where there is a water park by the beach. Getting AroundThere is a local bus stop at the top of my street that will take you to the train station. There is parking in front of the house for two or three cars. Other Things to NoteI live at the address, but not in the house in which you have booked a bedroom, although I access the shared spaces mentioned above. Guest AccessOff-street parking is provided for one car. Guests have private entry into the flat, and enjoy exclusive use of the rear patio. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the house, upstairs from the flat, so are on site most of the time. We are happy to offer any assistance that you may need during your stay (and a cup of tea or a glass of wine) but equally happy to leave you in peace as you enjoy your break. The NeighborhoodSandgate is a thriving seaside village of beautiful sub-tropical Brisbane. It has a vibrant community feel, lots of local events, great restaurants, bars and live music. We highly recommend a dinner at Il Forno Pizza restaurant and a drink or two at The Cardigan Bar. For families with children, there are several playgrounds within a few minutes walk. The nearby lagoons provide a great place for nature watching, and nothing beats finishing a weekend with fish and chips on the waterfront while watching the moon come up. Although the waterfront is tidal sand flats it is a great place for fishing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, cycling, walking or jogging. The house is located in a picturesque 'character street' that features many classic examples of early 1900's 'Queensland' architecture. One end of the street affords ocean views while the other looks over the Brisbane City and beyond. Getting AroundOur apartment is a short 5 minute walk from the Sandgate train station, with trains running directly to the city and Southbank. The city is a 35 minute train ride. Buses can take you to the city (route 310) and also to Chermside (route 335). Our proximity to the gateway motorway (M1) allows easy access to the Brisbane Airport, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Other Things to NoteWireless internet is provided, we kindly ask that you don't stream movies or games. We lead busy lives yet are at home most evenings and weekends. Our three children are generally courteous and friendly, yet like most children, from time to time they do create some noise. If you are wanting absolute solitude this is probably not your ideal choice. Our family is very sociable and love entertaining. We look forward to welcoming you to Sandgate.

The SpaceSpace would be great for overseas or local families/relatives who have friends and/or family in the area. Toys and games for children to keep little people occupied. Minimal furnishings however the fully equipped kitchen is perfect for those who like to cook even when away from home. Also good for those attending an event at Brisbane Entertainment Centre as it's a quick ride on the train to Boondall. Tea and Coffee. Property gets noise from city train across the road. It hoots out front so may take time to adjust. Noise from family upstairs with floor boards (we are working on reducing this noise). Guest AccessAccess to 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen (cupboards, 1 sink, microwave, oven, cooktop, fully equipped, NO DISHWASHER). Living area and front entrance. Back door is fire exit only. Laundry facilities on request. Interaction with GuestsHappy to assist with queries about local transport, what to do locally, restaurants etc... please advise on arrival what help you may need. Otherwise privacy will be given. The NeighborhoodDeagon is training ground for ThoroughBreds and the atmosphere can be best described as country essence in the city. Apartment is on large city block with tropical plants (bamboo and palms). City noise with train and semi busy street as property is close to amenities. Family of five lives upstairs so some noise filters through to lower level. Big veggie garden out back with guinea pigs. Property boarders on old style stables with horses. Best thing about Deagon is the location to the village of Sandgate. Sandgate is a well established bayside community boasting cafes, organic foodstores, large Woolworths, major Banks, chemists, newsagents, gourmet eating outlets, two Australian hotels (one overlooks Bramble bay and the other Sandgates old Post Office) and a boutique beer and wine bar. The location is great for all those wanting a quieter stay just outside Brisbane city but still have access to all city highlights. Getting AroundIf you arrive by car there is a car space. Property is 20 mins drive from Brisbane City Airport Domestic and International. Brisbane is fine to drive around in off-peak times but may get stressful during peak hours. Walking distance to trains and buses ( 8 min walk to Deagon Station, 10 min walk to Sandgate Station, 10 min walk to Busline that can take you over to Redcliffe or Chermside Shopping Centre). Other Things to NoteFront door access only. City noise with train and semi busy street as property is close to amenities. Family of five lives upstairs so some noise filters through to lower level. Laundry can be used by arranging or there are two public laundries close by.

The SpaceIt is a great spot to stay when you work in the city but want to feel that you are miles away from there, when you're not working. The facilities we provide are also ideal for a family considering a relocation to the area. In the immediate vicinity, you have access to child care, schools, sport clubs and public transport. Some areas of interest in the city are (interesting spots in the neighbourhood are listed further below): ** Our CBD is about a 40 minute bus trip - here you will find lots of international fashion brands, smaller boutiques of Australian labels as well as David Jones and Myers, Australia's two premier department stores that also carry international brands and the best of our Australian fashion designers. Also many great restaurants/bars some overlooking the river. Here you will find Jupiters Casino on the opposite side of the river from Southbank. ** A short walk from the CBD over the river is Southbank where our art galleries, museums and main performing arts centres are situated. There is a range of great restaurants here all with lovely ambience, right on the river. Also here is a huge swimming pool with a sparkling white sandy beach with the Brisbane River on one side overlooked by bars and restaurants on the other side. ** A further 10 minute walk from Southbank is trendy West End (our Greek community) - restaurants and more shops here. ** Buy a "Go-card" for a bus or train AND you can use the "city cats" (catamarans that are part of the public transport system in Brisbane) to get somewhere or just for a very cheap river cruise! There's also CityHopper, Brisbane City Council's free ferry service. These CityHopper ferries run every 30 minutes between 6am and midnight, seven days a week, and service the more 'tourist' stops such as the Maritime Museum, South Bank etc. ** For free City Loop buses, use your search engine to look for Free City Loop buses, Brisbane. Guest AccessYou will share access to the house and property with us. You are welcome to share the kitchen with us provided that you are tidy and clean up after use. There's a dishwasher for plates, bowls etc. A real double bed is provided in the room. Because we prepare our own meals and lunch boxes anyway, we can prepare you a meal or a picnic basket (at an agreed cost), should that fit in more with the plans you have. In Brisbane the balcony/veranda is a fine place for meals for most of the year. It is well worth stepping out from your bedroom to the outdoor tables, with your breakfast - to eat at tree-top level, gazing at the lovely view.) Some snacks are provided for those arriving on late night flights. Laundry facilities are available. Internet is provided, we just ask you don't stream movies or games please. Interaction with GuestsThe bedrooms are located upstairs. In daylight hours, feel free to leave the door open and treat the large, covered, private balcony as an extension of the bedroom. Tables, chairs with cushions, potted plants and the great view just outside should help with that. We live on the property so we are on site most of the time. We are happy to offer any assistance that you may need during your stay (and a cup of tea or a glass of wine) but equally happy to leave you in peace. We lead busy lives raising our two children however we also are at home most evenings and on weekends. Our children are well behaved however from time to time - on the trampoline - they will create some noise. The NeighborhoodThe Brighton/Sandgate/Shorncliffe area's is a stunning sea-side location. It has a laid back feeling and the accessibility that you have from here to visit the Sunshine Coast and other natural protected areas around, is what drew us to settle here. Our house overlooks a lake area with a bikepath next to it, which will take you to the station, should you wish to cycle (we have bikes for your use). Alternatively, you can walk to the waterfront where you will see training groups such as tai chi, yoga, cycling, kite surfing, paddle boarding and pilates classes taking place in the many parks, almost each morning. Although the waterfront is tidal sand flats it is a great place for fishing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, cycling, walking or jogging. Other places of interest include: ** The Boondal entertainment complex, which is two train stops away from the Sandgate Station ** The local Yacht club in Shorncliffe Getting AroundWe are 2 mins walk to the local corner store, pharmacy, post office, florist, bakery and coffee shops. If you fancy a longer walk (say 10 mins) or taking the bus, the Sandgate Village has quite a selection of quirky, organic, shops and eateries. We are ideally situated: 1) 5 mins away from the Freemasons and Eventide Retirement area, if you visiting your favourite Grandparents 2) 7 minutes drive to the Ice skating rink, 3) about 10 from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondal. We are about 50meters walk away from the busstop that offers an express service to the city. This takes about 20mins each way. It is reliable enough that we use it for going to work.. :) That same bus will go past the Sandgate train station (on the Shorncliffe line). Trains leave approx every half hour into Brisbane. If you don't have a vehicle there are many cabs also available to take you places here. Other Things to NoteWe have kids so happy to give you some pointers where the best free parks and other kid-related things are. We also know a very good babysitter...! Because we are so close to the airport but without the noise, we can do a pick up or drop off service for an additional $20. Taxis usually cost between $35-$50. The general area has 2 dog parks and also allows leashed walking of dogs on the beachfront and in Peace Park, just opposite our house. Need to store something whilst you continue on with your journey, then collect it later? No problem, we half a shelf and airtight containers just for that, located in the backyard shed.
