Are you looking for an amazing apartment all to yourself with amazing views in the heart of Silver Lake? Here it is! The 1600 sq ft 3 bedroom top floor apartment is full of light and has views all around and a balcony, where it is great to have a sunny meal, read a book or enjoy a sunset cocktail before heading out into Silver Lake, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Echo Park for the nightlife, the food, and the music! The 2 front rooms include a King Size bed. The back room a queen size bed. All rooms come with closet space, airconditioning or fan, and fresh sheets and towels. The couches in the bedroom convert into two more single beds. The apartment includes a large fully equipped kitchen; great space to cook or just hang out in. Our very large living room sports a great entertainment center, an over sized sofa; great for watching a movie or reading a book; and a dining area. Our bathroom comes with a over sized shower and a separate bathtub. There is free WIFI, which is compatible with both Mac and PC users. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment, which you are free to use. The apartment is located on a very quiet street in the heart of Silverlake Village, just south of Sunset Blvd and only one blocks east of Silverlake Blvd, where many of the great Silverlake restaurants, bars and music venues are. Everything is within walking distance or you can hop on one of our bikes and take a 5 min ride to Sunset Junction or Echo Park. Nearby spots which can be reached by foot include the music venue Spaceland, The Echoplex (also for live music), LAMILL café (incredible if a bit pricey), Café Tropical (popular with locals), LOCAL (a great restaurant for vegans and the gluten intolerant folks), Café Phở (best pho in all of Los Angeles, and we have tried many), Rambutan Thai & It's Thai (our 2 favorite Thai restaurants in LA) and Food Lab (just a great, easy cafe with excellent food and a thriving catering business) to name just a few. Best yoga in the neighborhood is a 5 min walk away, Urth Yoga! Silver Lake Reservoir is 10 min walk away and is great for jogging, it's especially beautiful early in the morning or for sunset. Sunset Junction with many more great cafes, shops and the Farmer's Market on Tuesday and Saturdays can be reached by bike, public transport or a short car ride. Hollywood or Downtown are 10 min away by car. If you need access to public transportation, there are 4 different bus lines that stop within a 5 minute walk from the house. Parking is not included, but there is always plenty available on the street. Our neighborhood is extremely safe. Minimum stay to 2 nights... but if at the last minute the room is available and its only one night, we will waive this rule. Also the check in and out time can be changed depending on when my next guest arrives, so feel free to ask. This is home away form home! You will love it and we look forward to you coming to stay with us! ** Before making your reservation, please make sure to message us first with some short info about yourself (and a photo on your profile also helps make things more comfortable on my end). Thanks! **

Lovely garden apartment tucked away on a lush residential hilltop in Silverlake. It's hard to believe, but you'd hardly know you're in the city while here, yet have easy access via public stairs or drivable streets all of silver lake's amenities. Open floor plan, private deck, being tucked partially into the hillside keeps it cool, lovely views of lush garden foliage including eucalyptus, succulents, avocado & more. Huge shower, queen bed in bedroom & comfy pull out sofa in living area. Full kitchen with basic supplies like pots/pans, dishes, silverware, knives, cutting board, can opener, French press coffee maker, wifi, streaming channels via roku, private deck with BBQ, table/chairs, walk in closet & small bureau for clothes. The apartment serves as our studio when not hosting visitors. Some wardrobes & dressers store our art supplies & are not for guest use. I work full time, and travel extensively when I'm not working, so most interaction will be via email & texts. I make sure the apartment is clean & ready for you upon check in. I'm happy to chat more if you catch me on my favorite spot on my deck-the hammock. I love the neighborhoods walk ability, unique architecture, friendly neighbors, picturesque views and interesting shops/ restaurants You can take a bus easily from sunset to all parts of LA, and there is a metro station 1.5 miles away. As you may have heard, most people here drive cars. I also like to walk extensively and ride my bike around. Disclosure- we live on top of a large hill & there are lots of stairs to navigate. Street cleaning on Thursdays & Fridays impact parking. Read signs. First come, first served street parking only, but in my 18 years of living here, I've always found a spot. Late at night that spot will be more of a walk than earlier in the day.

The SpaceThis sunny, spacious, and stylish 1 bedroom apartment (+ office) is one half of a duplex and located in the Silver Lake Hills. It's the perfect getaway for couples or someone traveling on their own for business or pleasure. Nobody lives in the apartment so everything is sparkly and clean. We (your hosts) live next door. If you're visiting LA for a weekend getaway our place is perfect. With hardwood floors and tastefully decorated with mid-century modern accents, almost everything in the apartment is brand new. There's a big living room, big dining room, big kitchen, nice sized office with french doors into a large bedroom with panoramic windows that look out onto the Silver Lake Hills. We even remodeled the bathroom for you! The pillow top Queen mattress is made up with bedding that boasts triple digit thread counts because one should never skimp on a good night's sleep. And since the photos were taken, we've installed black-out shades in the bedroom. The couch in the office opens up to a day bed and can accommodate one small child, it's not really ideal for an adult. If you packed light, don't worry! There's a washer and dryer in the apartment. Hate doing dishes? You're in luck! There's a dishwasher too. If you like to cook there's a set of Cuisinart Stainless Steel pots and pans. But wait, there's more. Brand new central heat and air conditioning, free wi-fi, cable TV, Apple TV, coffee maker, Nespresso Machine, as well as access to a landscaped backyard with a large Kenmore grill. If you're itching to shop, grab a bite or even get your haircut, the apartment is just 5 minutes by foot down a flight of stairs to Claire Vivier's handbag boutique, Alfred Coffee, The Knuckle and Claw (Lobster rolls,) Lark Bakery, Stark Waxing Salon and The Hive hair salon. And just 10 minutes to Sunset Junction, the Silver Lake Reservoir and Silver Lake Blvd where you can enjoy independently owned cafes, live music venues, boutiques, a weekly farmer’s market or hop on a bus into Hollywood to check out the walk of the fame. Oh and we're dog friendly too. Before making your reservation, please make sure to message us first with some short info about yourself and a photo on your profile (it helps make things more comfortable on our end). Thanks! Guest AccessGuests have access to the driveway and garage for parking one or two cars. There is a shared backyard with a patio table, four chairs and an umbrella for shade as well as a large gas grill. We have a Meyer lemon tree so feel free to pick a couple for your cocktails or tea. There is a fig tree too, so come fig season, help yourself to as many as you like. Interaction with GuestsWe're around if you need us, just next door. You might see us from time to time but we're both writers and are often holed up inside, glued to our computers unless we take our dog, Noodle out for a walk. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is one of the most desirable places to live in the city. There are beautiful views and on a clear day, you can see the Hollywood sign and the Griffith Park Observatory from the end of the street. The neighbors are all really friendly, good people and you can walk to get just about anything you need. We are truly right in the center of Silver Lake, walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and fun. Getting AroundBuses run up and down Sunset Blvd all day long to take you east to Downtown LA or west to Hollywood and beyond. You can take a Sunset Bus to the underground Metro Station in Los Feliz and grab a subway to Pasadena, Culver City or Downtown. And it's never more than a five minute wait for an Uber or Lyft driver to come and pick you up. Other Things to NoteThe bathroom only has a shower, no bathtub. The office is attached to the bedroom by glass French doors so you can sleep another person in there but it's not super private and best suited for a small child. There is an iMac computer in the office for internet surfing available for guest use and a spare yoga mat in the closet for visiting or aspiring yogis. We don't accept reservations of less than a week until 1 month before the requested date. (i.e. December 1st is bookable November 1). Inquiries for a week or longer are welcome anytime. The Space*The bed now features Marriott hotel sheets and linens. Along with spectacular skyline views, our house offers the serenity of a quiet, residential neighborhood while being just minutes from some of LA’s best attractions. Your studio has its own private entrance, and the spacious living/sleeping area features a queen bed; a mounted, flat-screen smart TV with Direct TV and access to Netflix, Amazon, etc.; a DVD player; complimentary Wifi; a comfortable seating area; and direct access to our house’s best feature – a huge, shaded deck surrounded by fruit trees and lush vegetation. Although the deck is shared with our main house located upstairs, we’re rarely home during the day, so you’ll pretty much have free reign to relax under the California sunshine, BBQ on our grill, watch the sunset (and occasional Dodger stadium fireworks), or simply enjoy an evening under the stars while being warmed by our many heat lamps. The apartment also contains a kitchenette/dining area, which, although small, features a wealth of appliances including a Tassimo coffee maker (a variety of T-discs included), a microwave, electric kettle, fridge, pots and pans, plenty of glassware and dishes, a toaster, and a small range for making simple meals. The kitchen opens to a bathroom with a fantastic steam shower that can be programmed to work as your own private steam room – a great way to relax after a day of site-seeing or a night on the town. Guest AccessOther amenities include plenty of street parking, a gas grill, and full use of the house’s outdoor laundry facilities. Interaction with GuestsAlthough I can’t always personally greet our guests when they arrive due to my work schedule, I am always more than happy to offer advice and to help arrange outings before or during your stay. We're just upstairs so we're here to help make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible. The NeighborhoodThe best part of the apartment is the location. Silverlake, Echo Park, and Los Feliz are known for their funky, artist’s vibe, along with many hiking trails, farmer’s markets, shops, and a wide variety of nightlife and restaurants for all budgets. Attractions within a 5-10 minute drive include Dodger Stadium, Griffith Park, the Greek Theater, Observatory, LA Zoo, Staples Center, the Grammy museum, Hollywood, Chinatown, The Disney Concert Hall, and the classic cocktail bars of Los Feliz (Tiki Ti, The Dresden, Good Luck Bar). Getting AroundIf you plan on venturing out into the greater LA area, we’re conveniently located near the 101, 5, 2, and 101 Freeways; Union Station and the LAX Flyaway bus; and several bus lines that connect to the underground metro system. The following is a list of distances from our house to some of LA’s major destinations and cities: Downtown – 3 miles (4km(URL HIDDEN) Hollywood – 4 miles (6km(URL HIDDEN)USC (Coliseum) –6 miles (10km(URL HIDDEN)Beverly Hills – 9 miles (14km) Burbank Airport - 11 miles (18km(URL HIDDEN) Pasadena (Rose Bowl) –11 miles (18km(URL HIDDEN) Westwood (UCLA) – 12 miles (19km) Venice – 15 miles (24km) LAX - 19 miles (30km(URL HIDDEN)Malibu – 30 miles (48km(URL HIDDEN)Disneyland – 30 miles (48km) Other Things to Note**NOTE -- The ceiling in the main room is quite high, but because of the hillside location the back kitchen area has much less headroom. Unless you’re exceptionally tall it shouldn't be a problem, but you do need to watch your head walking down the stairs from the kitchen to the bedroom. Also, the apartment is located beneath one of the upstairs bedrooms, so when we’re home you can occasionally hear footsteps on the wood floor and water running when the shower/toilet is in use. It’s nothing worse than you would experience in a downstairs apartment, and again, we’re rarely home, but if you’re an incredibly light sleeper you should be warned.

The SpaceLocated on a quiet, tree-lined residential street, the house is peaceful and quiet. Walking distance from Sunset Boulevard where you’ll find the best restaurants in town along with coffee bars, unique shopping experiences, and local flavor. With views of the Silver Lake neighborhood off your private front deck, you'll feel like you're in LA, but still have the peace and tranquility of your own place. Lots of light, large open living area with dining room and bedroom. Everything you could want in an upscale hotel and much more, the bungalow was specifically designed for travelers. Stylish, modern, peaceful and comfortable, the house is fully equipped from living space to kitchen to bed and bath. And it's listed and managed by the property owner, so no fears of being "caught" by the landlord. The living room sectional pulls out to a comfy full-sized bed for guests. A new 40” flat screen TV is equipped with satellite service and hundreds of channels. No need to miss your favorite shows while you’re out of town; set them to record on your DVR, where you’ll also find plenty of movies stored for nights at home. Or flip over to Netflix or HBOGo and watch on demand to your heart’s content. The newly updated kitchen includes an extra large fridge, dishwasher, stainless steel appliances, new microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, food processor, Calphalon cookware, and every other kitchen amenity known to man. All brand new as of January 2015. The central heat and air conditioning system is new and you'll find it comes in VERY handy during the summer months. The new system is also equipped with an air purification system -- a bonus for anyone with pesky allergies. As frequent travelers ourselves, we understand the importance of a good night’s sleep in an unfamiliar environment. The queen sized Mitchell Gold mattress is as comfortable as they come, and protected by a zippered cover against particles that can trigger allergic responses. Blackout shades provide plenty of excuses for sleeping in, and all bed linens are luxury, high thread count and 100% cotton. You'll find two down-filled pillows and two down-alternative pillows on the bed, along with a fluffy down duvet. There's also an extra down duvet for guests, along with a down-alternative coverlet for those with feather allergies. Centrally located - Only a 10 minute drive to Hollywood, downtown LA, LA Live, Staples Center, Disney Hall, Universal Citywalk, Dodger Stadium, the Grove, and Griffith Park. Beverly Hills is about 20 minutes & Disneyland is about 40 minutes away. Beaches are a quick 30 minute drive via freeways with the 101, 5, and 10 freeways easily accessed. Silver Lake contains some of the most famous modernist architecture in North America. Known as the Greenwich Village of the west, Silver Lake offers unique boutiques and restaurants, a beautiful reservoir (with running path and dog park), and a Tuesday and Saturday farmers market. It is the center of the indie rock scene of LA and is an eclectic neighborhood attracting creative people, artists, musicians, and environmentally conscious businesses. Guest AccessThe best part? No one else's STUFF to contend with. The house is all yours -- you won't find anyone's aging bills piling up in the corner, or nasty shoes stacked in the closet. The house is 100% guest-focused, and designed to be your home away from home. Interaction with GuestsWe don't live on the property, but we're ALWAYS available via cell or text. The NeighborhoodThe bungalow is located in the heart of Silver Lake, voted by Forbes as the #1 hippest neighborhood in the country: “The eclectic enclave boasts some of the nation’s most lauded food trucks and farmer’s markets, a booming arts scene and one of the largest creative class communities in the country. Silver Lake is also home to some of the most avant garde Modernist architecture in North America.” Getting AroundThere are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance of the house, but let's face it, renting a car is always a good idea in L.A. Street parking in front of the house is no problem. Other Things to NoteIs this unit booked already? Or are you traveling in a group? A twin bungalow sits on the same lot and shares the backyard, but the two houses share no walls and are completely separate.
