Silver Lake is a quiet and quaint area that has a great neighborhood feel but is also smack in the middle of this sprawling metropolis. Echo Park, Downtown Los Feliz and Hollywood, and old Pasadena are right around the corner which makes Silverlake a great place to stay. You really cant get more central. Guests will have access to a full kitchen, private patio area and comfortable queen bed. Total privacy from the moment you check in. Im happy to play concierge and can leave a list of the best restaurants and shopping in the area. See what "Time Out" magazine has to say - Our LA city guide to Silver Lake reveals the best ways to enjoy this trendy Eastside 'hood, sometimes referred to as the Williamsburg of LA. Sure, Silver Lake's the butt of many a hipster joke, but we tend to mock what we envy most—and there’s much to envy here. Silver Lake is one of LA’s most walkable ’hoods, with (almost) everything conveniently located right on Sunset Boulevard. There are enough shops, bars and eateries to keep you consuming for days. The area has also managed to marry the shiny and new (of which there’s a lot) with the shabby and old, making the neighborhood feel very, well, real. And it’s totally bikeable: A Sunset Boulevard bike lane runs the length of the neighborhood and the sidewalks here have more racks than parking meters. Whether you explore Silver Lake on two wheels or two feet, you’ll find the best of what this Eastside nabe has to offer—and meet some friendly folks along the way. There are three bus lines just a half black away that can take you anywhere. While there are lots of places you can visit by foot, theres always uber or lyft to get you around the city fast and cheap Guests will have access to a full kitchen, private patio area and comfortable queen bed. The SpaceHey all! IMPORTAMT; recently a few people have rented the place thinking it is something it is not. It's IS a CABIN... Rustic is the best word I can think of but it WAS built in 1927 with VERY little done since. It's cute cozy and loveable to some but others will find cob webs or the counter in the kitchen which has broken tiles, or the paint stained hard wood floors an issue. I can not stress it enough... Think of it as glamping, I guess. You'll see I have a ton of stellar reviews but there's a few negative too. The place could be updated but im not offering an updated place. I'm offering a cabin. A maid ALWAYS cleans first but occasionally people can't see that through its cabin feel. Soooo, really think about it, think about your partner. Do not rent if you want a place that's shored up. It's not. It's Glamping! The great outdoors indoors and built almost 100 years ago! Thank you! Cheers. Instant book is not for photo or video shoots, the prices are different. Please inquire! ... Lately lots of people are inquiring but not intending to actually book, please don't be that person :) I have a 100% response rate at most times because I don't take your time for granted. Please ONLY inquire if this property stands out above all others, not if you are just shopping around. Thanks! If you intend to do a photo shoot in my home, it must be disclosed and agreed upon before hand, the cost is NOT the same as the nightly rate. It is significantly more at times. You must also obtain your own insurance. That being said, message me. Thank you! Please do not rent and shoot without permission, you will be asked to leave with no refund! Clarification; We state the treehouse as rustic. From the reviews most people get this and love the place. We have been told at times it is not just "rustic" but needs updating. Well, it's hard to please all but to reiterate before I reiterate 6 more times in the body of this description, this place is cleaned by a maid, it is not dirty at all, however a few of you very cleanly people see otherwise due to its cabin-esque nature. Think cabin in the woods and forget the Los Angeles part. Hopefully that clarifies the vibe of the place. If you are at all pampered or anal, meticulous or a tad picky, please move on and look else where! Cheers! It has been said!! Rent at your own risk, read and read reviews, if you sound like the 95% of people who love it, rent it, otherwise... Namaste! Now, on to the good stuff ;) ; This artsy rustic treehouse has been used to record albums, shoot films, photography shoots, by painters and basic lovers of an eclectic chill and rustic vibe. Musician; There are two acoustic guitars, a midi key board, mic stand, adapters and some other odds and ends left by past musicians (though I don't know what they are :)) Artists and painters; the view is stunning with a huge wrap around deck, gardens, patios, nooks, a claw foot tub, tons of trees, and inspiration. My artist friend who is sitting here drawing wants me to add that sitting outside is a great place to work with great light, not just a good view. There is an easel on site. Check out the photos! Film crew and Photographers; the above pertains to you, though the pricing is different. Please inquire. I prefer no tracks be laid down in the house. To all renters, this is my home, not just some prefab, turn key vacation rental. Please treat it with respect and take the time to replace, replenish and renew the place after enjoying it. Quick note, all questions are likely answered in the body of this description. Please read! A few starting points; -CATS, gotta love em. They come with the house and need to be fed. Food is provided. Don't inquire with cat allergies! -This is an artsy home, it is not modern. We purposefully left the floors and wood doors old. We like the artistry of it. For example, the wood floors are raw with paint splatters because it was an artist loft in 1927 and we love the style and nostalgia. -This house was built in 1927 and holds the charm of a french chateau meets tree house. -Being a tree house, all areas may not be level, doors creak, deck is actually built into a tree and it is all wood!!! -It has a refurbished antique stove -There is brand new paint interior and exterior, new washer, refurbished bath, claw foot tub, awesome bed, bedroom, killer view and deck, trees and amenities. -This is a cute little woodsy bungalow in the hills of LA, not the Beverly hills hotel. If you want clean lines and perfect cleanliness, this is not the place. We have a maid clean before every stay but there is nature all around. Leaves fall, dust sneaks by and we are by no means OCD. STAY AND LEAVE FIVE STARS, no knit picking ;) -There are 31 stairs from street to pathway to house, please note...there are stairs! (Some people tend to ignore that warning) This house is hidden from view , safe and secluded, tucked behind another house. -The house is on a hill, you park on the street, there are no parking restrictions. -The bath is raised and it has been difficult for some elderly to maneuver and would be dangerous for children. -The deck has been restored and is safe but it is also not even or perfect as it is built into a tree -The very two words rustic and tree house must be heeded. There will be no refunds because the house was “too rustic for you" -There is wildlife, skunks, possums, racoons, and birds and they will all try to come in if you leave the doors open. Just shoo them away, that's what I do :) -AGAIN...There are indoor/OUTDOOR cats. They need to be fed. The food is provided. -There are condiments aplenty in the fridge and oils and spices in the cupboard. We think of that as a courtesy and we think of you more like boarders in a BNB then random tenants. Please understand, it is not tainted, left over food. :) -We highly recommend this house to writers, artists and musicians. It is eclectic and funky, very pretty and inspirational. The neighbors and neighborhood are awesome and quite hip. Bars and food a city block away...read on for more! Hollywood Hills rustic tree house hide away; This is a writers, artists dream stay. In the middle of LA and in the woods at the same time, you can focus on your craft and relax or go out on the town Hollywood style. It truly has all to offer. Built in 1927 it is full of rustic charms. This is currently a whole house for rent, a room is possible for a discounted rate, can be rented in a roommate capacity. Please inquire if that is something you would like. 1 bed plus living room. Can sleep 3 One California king bed and one sofa. fireplace, deck, views of Hollywood sign, the lake, Griffith observatory, mountains and the park. Washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen(this means full condiments and other generosities in the fridge when you arrive to make cooking easy), library, board games, toiletries, complimentary wine, claw foot tub with a ceiling of skylights, local wildlife, trees, a work desk, full bar in kitchen. We do not supply the alcohol :) free cable and free wifi, flat screen in bedroom, older tv in living room. All movie channels including HBO, showtime, etc... no young children as it is a tree house, there are dangers. garden, sitting area, patio, bbq, and wrap around deck with chaise lounges and panoramic views. Walking distance to multiple restaurants, bars, grocery, starbucks, library, lake, ma and pa establishments. There will be a refundable deposit required as the house is well stocked with entertainment and artwork. All things are inventoried and will be checked before and after your stay. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. We will do all in our power to give you an unforgettable vacation. We are local in the area and can be reached most times unless we are traveling too. Any needs including sight seeing advice and directions can be given upon arrival. The owner owns a bar near by where you can receive 20% off drinks. Guest AccessEverything in the house is yours! Eat, drink and be merry! Interaction with GuestsAs needed, though I like to give privacy. I'd only show my face if needed or die to extenuating circumstances. I also travel so from time to time may be out of town! The NeighborhoodEverything is nearby, views, peace, food, bars, coffee, music. It has everything you need! Getting AroundYes, PUBLIC TRANSPORT just at the bottom of our hill! Other Things to NoteEverything is near by, views, peace, food, bars, coffee, music. It has everything you need!

The SpaceTwo bedroom apartment in Silverlake - directly above Sunset Blvd., with all the clubs, restaurants, and shopping for which the neighborhood has become famous! A calm retreat on a breezy, spacious deck with a stunning view of the downtown L.A. skyline, Year-round gardens with edibles for you to pick and enjoy. If you're looking to be near it all and escape at the end of the day - you've found your L.A. paradise! Between Echo Park and Hollywood, close to Melrose, Koreatown, Chinatown, Griffith Park, and 15 minutes from downtown. There are only four units on the property - this is the last unit, more quiet, has a large yard (only one) and has a killer view. Great neighbors - very considerate, so please be considerate of them. Street parking (always available - no street cleaning days). Buses on Sunset Blvd., Subway (red line) is about one mile away. Having a car in L.A. is always better, however. The SpaceAwesome big house on a hill overlooking the lake. This is a self serve apartment, not a bed and breakfast. It comes with what it comes with and the rest you will need to procure yourself if you'd like . Thank you. This is also my private residence and has our personal belongings inside of it including my cats, so please treated with respect as you would your own home, or better We are close to public transport, hollywood, downtown all freeways, shops, bars, grocery and more. Also, some people don't like cats, this isn't the space for you then, sorry no other pets allowed. This is a woodsy area, raccoons, skunks, possums and the like have been known to wonder through the back door from time to time. This is your warning, don't take the place if it is too rural, think woodsy cabin although it's a very nice home. The appliances in the house are what it comes with. There are fans, no ac and a wall heater, I live there and it works for me, hopefully it will work for you. Enjoy, please no complainers :) WARNING: The above statements are not to be taken lightly. Recently I have had a renter or two who either did not read the listing or who did not really listen or believe what I said, so, I'll say it again; There are cats, you will need to feed them if you take the entire home and be open to it from time to time if you only rent the bedroom. They come in through the back door off the laundry room. It is ALWAYS left open. Due to the woodsy area we live in, SKUNKS AND RACCOONS can and do get in through the back door, yes, INSIDE THE HOUSE! I shoo them away, I deal with whatever I must do. The possibilities are endless with wildlife but as I see it, it is no big deal. It requires putting cat food up for a couple hours till they leave (not forgetting to put it back out again) closing the door for a couple of hours (again, not forgetting to reopen it) and an over all mind set that this is not scary or gross but an experience. I personally do not think the house is suited for small children which I used to only address privately one on one with prospective renters but I went against my better judgement recently and of course, all I got was complaints. There are high windows they can fall out of when open, no child proofing, cleaning supplies not locked up, etc. I WILL NOT REFUND or deal with complaints on these issues. This is the charm of the place and most my renters LOVE it here, as you can see from my reviews. If any of the above does not sound fascinating, then move on!! Now, the fun stuff; A 2 bedroom California bungalow, 2 bath 2 Couches, Full laundry on premise, full kitchen, tv, record player, wifi, cable, VIEWS, close to all public transport, coffee, bars, restaurants, yoga, wine tasting, the lake, observatory and much more Cool modern funky furniture, tons of windows, very airy. Full kitchen with all you need to cook, we are up two flights of stairs over looking the reservoir. It's gorgeous, relaxing and inspirational. Silver lake is a hip spot for music arts and culture. There's a washer/dryer here for your convenience and it is shared with the back house, a breakfast nook, and full cable tv with all movie channels, small pool table, dart board and sitting room. Everything we have you have, use the spices, teas, coffee etc! I like to stay in touch and be told immediately about any problems. I also like to leave you be to settle into your stay! Amazing views, quiet in the middle of the city, location to everything, it's rad! FYI; In the past I have rented my place and a few things have taken place, stains on couches ($100-$500 to clean) broken or missing objects ($depends on object) and lost keys ($25 replacement) These events/items will be deducted from your deposit. There are 31 steps leading to my door and a semi large hill before that if you end up parked at the bottom, so drop your stuff at the top first and then go re-park and you will be all set :) NO dogs/pets we have enough! That said, because this property has two homes, there can be exceptions, teeny dogs, well trained may be ok, ask. It depends on my cats and every circumstance is different. You'd still have to care for cats and they would get run of the place, where your dog may need to stay in the room. All we have, you have, utensils, some spices, bath necessities, etc. Please inquire about needs or questions. PARKING; free street parking, no restrictions except for basic red zones and not blocking the neighbors driveway :) I like to stay in touch and be told immediately about any problems. I like to also leave you be to settle in to your stay! NEIGHBORHOOD has Everything, there's tons to do, close to all but still peaceful in the hill's, nature meets city! It's GREAT! Views of Holly wood sign, walk to observatory (about 1.5 miles) Shops, bars, restaurants, coffee and great happy hours. Please be okay with this! We love it but some people don't expect the country in the city. This is the charm of the place. House is not suitable for small children as there are high windows, floor to ceiling, no screens, no child proofing on cabinets or dressers, cats, wildlife (sometimes in the house), cleaning supplies, etc. Rent at your own risk and NO REFUNDS OR COMPLAINTS on the above quirks. The SpaceCreate a truly memorable & filmic experience by staying in this spectacular new architectural home perched on the hillside of Silver Lake. This elegant studio apartment boast views amongst the best you will find in Los Angeles. The Silver Lake Reservoir is at your feet and the Griffith Park Observatory and Hollywood Sign loom in the distance. (Please note, the Silverlake Reservoir has been drained and will remain without water until spring 2017) It is truly a breathtaking view. Not only are the views outstanding, but the unit itself is an architectural diamond. Not a right angle in the 600 sf unit. Designed by the architect Tom Marble and finished in 2013, the unit is made up of triangles and sliding doors of glass. This unit was built for pleasure. Enjoy the 47" television with cable including HBO & surround sound. Entertain outside on the spectacular deck. Luxuriate in the gorgeous tile shower & sleep on the fabulously comfortable queen size bed with down duvet. This place has to be seen and experienced to believe. Guest AccessPrivate unit with huge private deck. Interaction with GuestsI am either staying on the property on nearby. I am always available to answer questions. I want each guest to have a wonderful experience. The NeighborhoodSilver Lake is a fabulous neighborhood close to Hollywood & Downtown. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping. Lot's of local color, wonderful walks & outdoor spaces. Getting AroundBus to Downtown is right down the street; however, most people rent a car or use uber or lyft. Please try to rent a smaller car. This is a cul du sac stair street and parking is tight! Other Things to NotePlease rent a smaller car. Parking is in a garage but it is a narrow cul du sac street.

The SpaceBefore we get into the details of the apartment and location, take a minute and go straight to my reviews. Edendale is a historical name for a district in Los Angeles, California, northwest of Downtown Los Angeles, in what is known today as Echo Park and Silver Lake. In the opening decades of the 20th century, in the era of silent movies, Edendale was widely known as the home of most major movie studios on the West Coast. Among its many claims, it was home to the Keystone Kops, and the site of many movie firsts, including Charlie Chaplin's first movie,[1] the first feature-length comedy,[2] and the first pie-in-the-face.[3] The Edendale movie studios were mostly concentrated in a four-block stretch of Allesandro Street, between Berkeley Avenue and Duane Street. Allesandro Street was later renamed Glendale Boulevard (and a smaller nearby street took on the name Allesandro). Edendale's hilly streets and nearby lake lent themselves to many silent movie gags. The district's heyday as the center of the motion picture industry was in the 1910s. By the 1920s, the studios had moved elsewhere, mostly to Hollywood, which would come to supplant it as the "movie capital of the world."[4] Edendale was known as such at least until 1940, as the Pacific Electric Railway operated an Edendale Line of its famous "red cars" that ran the 5-mile (8.0 km) course between Downtown Los Angeles and the top of Edendale. The red car ran down the median of Allesandro Avenue (Glendale Blvd.), which was double-tracked, and even triple-tracked between Sunset and Effie, as the tracks were also used by the interurban Glendale-Burbank Line. After 1940, the Edendale Line as such ceased, though service continued in the form of local service on the Glendale-Burbank Line. Rail service on that line ended completely in 1955, and the tracks have been abandoned.[5] The name Edendale is no longer used as a place name, and is little known today. Two of the few remnants of the name are the local post office (officially called Edendale Station) and a public library branch. Although many of the structures from the 1910s remain and can be identified by careful comparison with old photos, this district today is an unremarkable commercial zone called the "Glendale Boulevard Corridor" known mostly for its function as a commuter thoroughfare between the southern end of the Glendale Freeway and downtown Los Angeles.

Other Things to NoteIn the fashion of running a proper bnb, coffee is included. Please read the entire apartment guide PDF that will explain everything from emergency contacts to using the smart tv and turning on the lights!

The SpaceWELCOME TO T-MANOR One of three homes chosen by Airbnb as worldwide finalists for their 'Most Unique Listing' award at Airbnb Open, Host Awards. Paris, 2015. T-MANOR is an enormous, 107 year-old, Craftsman-styled home, located high in the Silver Lake Hills. T-Manor was built to inspire creativity and entertain celebrities! Countless architectural relics, removed and relocated from iconic Hollywood landmarks are built in throughout the home. Peruse the library...whip up a feast, compose a tune on the piano or a guitar...soak in the hot tub...shoot some darts...sword fight...relax on one of the decks, zone out on the views... The home is perfect for business, social and work-related events! We've hosted major international fashion designers, television series writing retreats, tech pow-wows...NPR & PBS producers, conventioneers, international film crews, Elon Musk's 'Hyperloop' engineers, Broadway stars, touring musicians... even Airbnb's own staff has used the home (three times!) as a base while putting on their L.A. events. There is plenty of unrestricted, free street parking. PLEASE NOTE!! Your hosts, Al & Leslie, live (on site) in a private, self-contained suite. THE FRONT ENTRANCE IS SHARED so the hosts get to mingle (briefly) with their guests, coming and going. Otherwise, the hosts stay completely out of the way. Aside from the host's private apartment, the ENTIRE HOME is available for their guest's private use. The booking guarantees private use of the huge kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, all common living areas, 4 bedrooms, patios and decks. At all times, the hosts honor and respect their guest's privacy. The guest's enjoyment and free use of the home is never compromised. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that the house is over 107 years old! The floors and walls are OOZING with 'character', meaning there are some areas that might be considered somewhat flawed. We say "Ha! They are well-lived in"! We do not intend to represent that the home is in 100% perfect, pristine condition. KIDS can go BONKERS with our great chests of toys, cabinets filled with board games, puzzles, art supplies. PETS: We allow pets under certain conditions. Please contact hosts prior to booking to discuss our expectations regarding your pets. REGARDING FILM LOCATION/ EVENT USE: The house is used frequently as a filming/photography location and event venue. The light is fantastic, the parking is great. Additional charges are applied for location work or events. Please contact the hosts to discuss your project. PARTIES AND LATE NIGHT REVELRY: Loud conversations and music must cease after 10:00pm, unless there have been prior, special arrangements made with the hosts. If you stay up late, the Hosts expect their guests to close all exterior doors and keep the sound INSIDE. Please keep late-night conversations QUIET. The hot tub is available until 10pm. DESCRIPTIONS of the BEDROOMS: BEDROOM 1 A huge room (almost 400' square feet). Arched doorways to the sleeping area and it's colorful, hand-painted murals. A tiled niche with washing sink. A massive, early 1900's armoire closet. A giant door leads outside to the brick back patio. This room can sleep 4 comfortably. It has a 'California-King'-sized bed, a single day bed and hidden trundle mattress. BEDROOM 2 One full corner of Craftsman-styled windows. A walk-in closet. Sexy art. If needed, this room can accommodate 3 guests. It has a queen-sized bed and single futon couch. BEDROOM 3 (dubbed 'The Temple" by our lovely first guest, Sheri): Overflowing with detail. Constructed from bits and pieces of famous recording studios. This room has a queen-sized bed and sleeps 2. ***Please note!! BEDROOM 3 is detached from the main house. The FRONT ROOM A 50" flat screen, smart TV with cable and internet access. A fully stocked, complimentary bar. Heavy, red velvet privacy curtains. This room has a Tempurpedic single mattress, second 'trundle' bed and a large sofa and easily becomes a private, fourth bedroom. JUST TO CLARIFY... If we are accommodating 14 people, there is space for 11 people on real beds and space for up to 3 additional sleepers on couches, spare mattresses or futon mats. Guest AccessGuests have full, PRIVATE use of the home's kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and all the large, common living areas. Interaction with GuestsThe front entrance is shared, so occasionally we (your hosts) get to mingle briefly with our guests, coming and going. Otherwise, we stay completely out of the way. However... .....we love being invited to sit, visit and talk with our guests. Occasionally, we will break out the guitars, stand-up bass and percussion instruments and then all play some tunes together. It doesn't get better than that! The NeighborhoodSILVER LAKE! We're located one-quarter mile uphill from Sunset Blvd. and just down the street from the infamous 'Paramour Mansion', AKA, the Canfield-Moreno Estate. Look it up! It has an amazing history. Short walking distance to Sunset Junction and the farmers market and the Silver Lake Reservoir. Great coffee, food & hot spots! Vietnamese food at PHO (on Sunset) is THE BEST! There is close public transportation right outside the front door as well as restaurants, coffee, bars, grocery, library, yoga studio, record store and random shops just a short block away. All goes in Silver Lake (east hollywood) it's the arts and music capitol of LA. There is smoking ONLY outside the house so it doesn't get smelly but as I said there are plenty of cool spots to hang. There are cats and wildlife on the property. If you are allergic to cats, it's not the place for you. They are outdoor cats but they do come inside and they like to meet new people. I will leave food for the people who stay to water and feed them. There are skunks and raccoons that wonder by and yes, even in the house (if the doors left open) so be ok with that as well. :) The house is rad, my tenants have all been great, everyone loves it here and I look forward to hosting your stay. As of yet I have only rented on airbnb where I have 90 positive reviews if you would care to look my properties up there! I Look forward to meeting some Flipkey people... Atop a hill, with awesome views of lake and hills, front yard seating area, plenty of lounge spots and wildlife even though you are in the heart of LA and next to hollywood. More details are in my main description!
